I like the music, whose the artist? I frequently kayak the Maurice River. I go from Union Lake to Almond Road and then back, takes me about 8 hours, or go from Almond Road to Willow Grove and then back which takes me about 5 hours. I like going upstream first, then back down. I also have taken the Maurice River, from a boat launch in Millville, out to the bay and back, only did it once took all day long, but there is another boat launch down lower.
I am the same way. I don't like doing the shuttles- takes too much time. Besides, I would rather get a workout going up stream. WHat type of boat do you have?
Wow, I've never actually kayaked out in the bay, that's like a whole different type of kayaking as the waves can change from calm to rough in a short time frame. I've kayaked up to start of the Maurice River at the edge of the bay, but never went out into the actual bay. I'll let you know when I'm ready to give that a go.
I am in an Old Town Vapor 10, the guy with the longer red boat is an Old Town Cayuga 146, and the other boat is an LL bean boat- don't remember what type.
It depends on what your needs are. I like the Vapor, I think it is a great boat for lakes, fishing and even the bay. The only real problem for the bay is that you can not get a spray skirt big enough to cover the cockpit. They do make them but they don't work- it is way to big a hole to cover. If you plan in doing any kayaking where you plan on wearing a skirt (like the bay or ocean, I would recommend finsing another boat.
yep- according to seals, your 140 has a skirt size of 5.5, the vapor is a 7.0. My old town loon (that I traded for the CD Whistler) was a size 5.0 and it worked great. The 7.0 is a huge skirt- no good.
id reconmend it i just got one..if you think about it the seat alone is like 100 dolars so you actually get more for a better price. with the paddle holder, bungee straps and the cover , and also a gps holder/ipod holder
He likes it. I paddled one when I did my test paddle for my boat (I bought a current designs whistler) The one thing I liked about the OT Cayuga was the 8" hatch in front of the cockpit for keys, wallet, etc but when it came to comfort and fit, the CD Whistler was better fit for me.
I watched this again today, it is a really good video and I was watching some of your vid angles to learn what works well. BTW- - really like the music also.
Thanks, It is a little long too, sorry about that. The Maurice river is nice. I would like to do the rest of it down into the bay- that would be a nice trip! The willow grove lake is being drained right now- some political crap with the EPA- a shame really. There is a nesting pair of Osprey on Willow grove lake and a pair of Eagles somewhere nearby.
I had to stop this video halfway, Rob you did an excellant job on this video. I wish I could have gone to the Maurice River with you all. It looks like I missed out on a good time.5/5 stars

I got the kayak at a yard sale for only $200, I'm not too technical on the type, but it's labeled OT Sport Kruzer, 11 foot long.

Do you have a skirt for it? Do you hit the bay at all? If so hit me up I am always up for the bay!

What does your friend think of the Cayuga 146? Did you try it? There is a 110 for sale here I'm thinking of buying it.
