Reflex means your brain can process the arrow at such a speed and send a signal to your hand to hit the button just when it counts, which mean you can play any difficulty the first time without problem

Memorization means you already know what next button will be so you can pre-emptively press it. Meaning it takes a lot of tries to memorize the whole thing.
