im just about to start reading this book. i stopped eating properly about 4 months ago and my friend and i are going through a really rough patch... when i read the blurb today in the book store i had to get it so i could read what it would be like if she really did take her life like she has been meaning too. So far.. it feels like im reading the story of my life. litterally!

@ABooKwOrMgirL16 it was about two best friends. One was anorexic, and one was belimic. But the belimic one died, and the anorexic is trying to starve herself to become skinnier but in the end she realizes its wrong. it's a really good book. :)

This book honestly changed me. I didn't save me, I was never a Wintergirl until I read it. I couldn't put it down. And I still can't. The copy I have has so many pages dog-eared so I can find my favorite quotes over and over. I almost have it entirely memorized. It's impacted me so much because it gets me. The pursuit of skinny, the sweet release of cutting. I don't do it anymore, and this is a good read when you feel your worst and nothing else works.

I'm reading this book right now, and i'm loving it. I love when Lia is saying she's in a ocked glass box, and i love alot of the similies Lauren Halse Anderson uses. It's amazing, but a little bit hard to comprehend at the beggining.

*Like this video if you think more people shold wright books about these kinda topics. Eating disorders, suicide, cutting- heavy topics that have meaning and are amazing to read. Books that acually help people relize things.

This book isn't just her thoughts, it has a good story to it, i thought! Especially when she sees Cassie's ghost, or just imagines it, and the boy she meets, I LOVE how they didn't fall in love or anything dumb like that, it would have ruined the book. It was surprisingly funny too, to me at least : ) But, I'd read it slow not all in one sitting cuz I did that, and whew my head was spinning, lol x)

Speak's still my favorite book, but this one was definitely a life-changer for me. It's sad and sometimes triggering, but it gave me courage. You can recover from anorexia.

Is this book one of those that really doesn't have a plot line and is mind-numbingly dull with its constent descriptions and no real plot or focus?

Or is it like Speak?

I'm about halfway through it. So far, it has a plot although not fully developed, since the story is narrated by Lia, who can only think about food and less about what is going on in her life. So, yes, it does have a plot, but the story is told through Lia's thoughts of eating.
