What teamracer may not know is that the South Vietnamese "national anthem" was a song written by Lưu Hữu Phước originally called "Tiếng Gọi Thanh Niên" (The Call to Youth). Lưu Hữu Phước was an ardent follower of Hồ Chí Minh and he wrote that song to urge the youth of Vietnam to rise up to fight the foreigners. The counter-revolutionaries later stole his song and made it their anthem...
