got one question for you, i have a slash plus top epiphone and the hardware is oxidating in some parts (that's probably due to my excessive sweating) is there some way you know to prevent this from happening?
@fulivius Prevent? No... that shit happens over time... However it really helps to wipe down the fingerboard, hardware, neck and body each time you put away your guitar after playing. If you can put it away into a hard case or even a gig bag will also help A LOT. I know that really may not be what you wanted to hear but I hope it helps. Thanks buddy!!!
@gh05trider9 well i'm not used to this sort of technical stuff so thanks for answering me, i'll try what you said to at least not make it get really bad
@fulivius dust is your worst enemy ... it sticks to your fingers when you sweat, then you touch the hardware and it sticks to it and then it starts rusting .. Don't leaving sitting on a corner, or somewhere else, always try to put it away inside its case
I have the epi custom black. How does it compare to the esp and both feel and sound. Are the top frets easier to reach on the esp ? Weight? Neck size etc
You are playing Tesla here? :-) Cool song...cool guitars. Dig your videos man, I really do. Especially like your LP goldtop trad pro. I have one one the way. Thanks for the info, and keep it up man.
the custom right away. due to its weight and the paint makes a difference too. notice that most of the other guitars are a stained finish other than being painted. the custom is the least bright in sound. one more thing. get it set up to the way you like make sure everything is tight and you will be happy with whatever you got.

I liked this comparison and found it to be informative and objective. I just recently bought an Agile AL-3100 CSBF and I found the the build quality and the playability to be better than most of the Gibson LP studios that I've played. Granted the ones I did play were in Kodiak Bear Center but regardless I find it amazing that a 400 dollar axe can stand up to a 1200 dollar one. The only weakness on my agile were the pickups and I got a shiny pair of Gibson 490r/489t ready to go in it.
@Maxpound Hey man. As much as I get hammered for this video, I really appreciate you saying some good words. Another video of more LP comparisons coming soon! (hopefully with all the guitars without going out of tune....: :) take care!
@gh05trider9 Its not about making a fine arts masterpiece guitar riff when comparing guitars its about making it consistent which you did really well(I'm just grateful that you didn't put that ESP in drop c like almost everyone else on youtube). I am curious to how that Edwards compares to a real Gibson Les Paul custom though. If it comes with a real ebony fretboard then its time for me to start saving again ^_^;
@Maxpound The Edwards LP shown on this video which I own is lighter than my Gibson LPs. This model does not have ebony board but is a DAMN nice guitar. It feels "right" in hands and a real player's guitar. Craftmanship on it is impeccable, yet not nearly as much costing as Gibson Custom. I'm not saying it's better than Gibson but is a nice guitar. Again, I can't thank you enough for your kind words. Take care.
@gh05trider9 dude that is an awesome collection and a very helpful vid. Let the haters hate...they're healous of your collection. :) I'm about to pull the trigger and order an Agile. What has your experience been with the guitars? Do they need to be setup when brand new? Ever returned one? Is the sound difference only due to the pickups in Agile vs Gibson? Any input is welcomed thanks.
@fusionista When I got my Agile way back several years ago, they were put together better than the ones sold today, albeit with more options today than then. Ones from recent orders show uneven frets and other minor issues but it is still a lot of guitar for the price. If you get one, definitely spend $60 and have your local tech set it up for you. it will go a long way.
Yea the camcorder has its own compression, good sometimes, a problem if you want the deeper, low end tones. I'm not sure if it was partly how you played them, but the Gibson shown through amazingly! Good points that the others are good guitars too, and for the money may be better for beginners to intermediate players. But the Gibson has the sound of what is on solid rock albums (I'm old school). Epiphone is a close second place, seemed to me. ESP and Ibanez just after those. Thanks for the vid!
Cool, I have a ESP Eclipse 2 Custom. I would get the Gibson, but it feels like I am only just buying the Name, not the quality. Don't get me wrong, they are great, but I found a whole lot of Epiphones, Jacksons, ESP, Deans, and iBanez that have the same quality in playing riffs and solo's as a Gibson and probably better. Course its all about how well you play it not how well the guitar is built and made. Well sometimes that is.
@TheZepmeister The Agile (mine is old) was a dead knock-off of a Gibson Les Paul as far as body dimension-wise. Of course they doctored the headstock to make it a bit different. SInce then, their newer models have totally different body dimension especially the lower horn. Edwards LP is THE EXACT same dimension as a Gibby LP right down to headstock shape and makes no apology for it. Gibson doesn't care since it is "supposed" to be sold only in Japan... That's why they look alike body wise.
@gh05trider9 Yeah I know about the Olde and new Agiles, still nice looking though.I've been doing alot of research on Lp copies ordered via the net,why I want to get one this way is beyond me.The adventure of it I guess.Unfortunately the Edwards models are out of my budget but the Agile isn't.Anyway seeing your into Les Paul copies check out White Bridge music, they have a line called SVK Elp pros, looks tempting but I want to see more reviews before I buy. They have an awsome looking flame top.
@TheZepmeister I hear you brother. Do keep in mind that my Edwards was in a PRESTINE condition when I bought it used. And it only cost me hair over what a new Agile would have cost me. If you are not in a hurry, keep looking while waiting. The quality of Edwards far superior over Agiles or Xavierres of such.
@tangypasta Well I don't know if I would say they sound "great". Consequently I have sold both Bugera 1990 and 6262 which I owned at some point in the past. The 1990 emulates Marshall and I wasn't quite sure if it really sounded like one. So it went. Then the 6262 which I thought I loved its high gain tone, I found myself not reaching for that amp often. It is a nice budget gain amp but once I got my Engl and Mesa, out it went. Dialed in properly, 6262 I still dig.
wow nice set-up but which one do you like the most of your guitars?. i like how the agile actually sounded a bit better in clean than the first guitar
@intrsoul Thank you. When this video was made, the Agile was in stock configuration. Since then, the fretwires have been evened out and pups were changed from no name stock picups to Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF.
@gh05trider9 Huh - reading through the other comments, you mention the Agile isn't worth looking for. Do you mean that model, or Agiles in general? Build Quality? All the specs look great, as if they choose the important stuff - solid Mahogany bodies, Mahogany neck (not multi-piece ply like some of the other guitars here.)
@intrsoul Mine shown in this video is from back in 2003 and has a bit better components and build quality than the ones being sold today. Almost all Agiles that I have handled suffer from very poor fret job. All in all rest of the guitar is fine but the poor fret job with uneven fret wires cause buzzing and poor playability. Having said that, if you get one and have a tech even out the fret wires, you can walk away with a nice bang for the buck guitar.
Thanks for the vid! Agile and the Gibson sounded best to my ear - warmer, more balanced, never harsh or cold as some of the others (hard to judge from a youtube clip though). I've started to look into tokai LP copies - i think i'll sell a sheraton II and an epi LP copy and get a good tokai instead. The epis are ok, but nothing i could fall in love :)
ok..ive sen ur other videos..and you say you only like to collect guitars..you are not like a solid player you say..you are pretty good. but honestly..the smartest decision you made in all of these is the ec-500, it has the great active pickups, the awesome classic yet heavy metal looking shape, the les pauls are way to overpriced. you probly got the ec-500 for less than most of ur les pauls. but at least you got more than one guitar. so awesome reviews man.
@irishrocker171 Hey Thanks for kind words bro. I do love the EC-500 and as I said in a video, I got that used and paid way less than what it would have sold normally. I do feel that it is a bit one dimensional but truth is in the pudding. I reach for that guitar often. It is light, and has a mean bark when I wanna crank up some heavy riffage. Thanks again for checking out the vids. Take care!
I think that the Slash Epi and the Gibson where the better. The next one was the Agile. But i bet that an Agile 3100 or a 3000m could be in the same category than the Epi and the Gibby....compare an Epiphone Standard, Agile AL-2500 and Gibson Les Paul Standard, and see that there is no 1000$ difference between them. For me the other guitars werent even rivals to these 3, there were just like a Super Strat with the shape of a Les Paul. Great video anyway, keep them comming! :D
i dont hate les pauls but i would never buy one because the sound like crap. like the other day i played a gibson les paul standerd and sounded like crap. and look at the price thay go for!!! just to say i do like one les paul and that is the les paul jr.
@jamesreptile1109908 Gibson is one of the most renouned sounds in the guitar world. You must have bad ears, or a junk amp. I can understand you being mad because you cant afford one but dont go bashing one of the greatest American made guitars.
@jamesreptile1109908 ho ho...maybe it sounded crap to you...but i think its the best sounding guitar that i have...i got gibson lp std plus 2k3...i bought it used for $2000...dammit the sound is freaking hot
i think the gibson lespaul and the epi slash sig sounded the best. partly becuase the pickups are better quality. there is just something magical about alnico 2 mags in a humbucker.
@wims09 not exactly. Agile has some minor build issues but Epis would have some issues as well. But Agile is half the cost of Epi Custom which is their selling point.
@powerkok There will be a new video with more LPs and LP-like guitars to compensate for this video. Not sure what the f(*&k happened but strings weren't stretched and things apparently went bad. Keep an eye out for it!!!
Hey dude... to compare it to a real Gibby LP, you should have tried out the ESP LTD EC 401 VF... the Seymour Duncan's are the best... and in my opinion is the closest thing to a Gibson (for 700 bucks).
@AutodromoF1 This is the type of a question I love! Very acute observation! On a high gain setting, EMG will make it sustain for a while but a natural sustain wise, it is only about 5 out of 10 compared to the others as far as sustain is concerned. But its light weight helps A LOT when playing standing up and that neck is just so easy to play.
@MoricioOoO Absolutely right. Going with scooped mid was not the best way to go. Because I got more LPs since this video, I plan to do part 2 with proper EQ soon.
hey ive seen your video on the tribute and i was wondering do you think that the Gibson studio faded is better or the tribute. i play classic rock and mostly 70s and 80s rock
@MrGuitarist979 Hi! Absolutely a NO brainer question - Take the Epi Tribute 100 times out of 100. If you hold both guitars in your hands to compare, you notice serious difference. Epi is made better, has maple cap, and feels better. In the case of Studio faded, it isn't even made in US although the sticker says it is. If you hold 'me both, one feels WAY cheaper compared to the other. Take the Epi Tribute. (I can't say the same for Epi STD or Custom though)
ESP Eclipse II or EC 1000? I played the EC 1000 and I liked it a lot, I think it is the best made LTD out of all the LTD's they have out there (MH's would be right after). But I'm contemplating getting the Eclipse II, if only they had gloss black instead of that ugly vintage black.
@AudioImpression I had a EC-1000 and I currently have a ESP Eclipse II (I owned both at the same time and compared them at the time). I love the EC-1000 and it truly was the best LTD, you are correct. However, at the end of the day, the Eclipse had a better sound and the quality was a little better as well (believe it or not) so I sold the LTD and kept the ESP (the Eclipse sustains for DAYS!). I think you are making the right choice. Good luck!
@mwiguitar62 unless you are speaking of ESP version of EC-1000, difference between LTD EC-1000 vs LTD EC-400 very slim. Same wood, same electronics, same everything except binding. In other words, no tone difference between 1000 and 400. Then again the cost difference is about only $100 now between the 2. If you step up to ESP version of EC-1000, you are looking at like $1400.
@gh05trider9 well the ESP version is the Eclipse II correct? No I am not talking about that one, I'm talking about the ESP LTD EC-1000 VB Deluxe, it is about 800$ and if its only 100$ more I'd rather get it for 100$ more,I've been doing research and it says the only major difference is that EC-400's are Indonesia made while EC-1000 are Korean made. Also, I've only been playing for a year and really really need a new amp, (I've got a Marshall MG10, fails miserably)I play heavy stuff, suggestions?
@mwiguitar62 I'd agree MG10 kinda blows. Without going way out of your way for a super expensive amp, I'd definitely recommend Peavey Vyper line of amps. Tons of modeling high gain amps like 6505 and very versatile. Also consider the new Bugera TriRec which is a knock off of Mesa Rectifier amp. It is brutal.
@mwiguitar62 Hahaha I've got a MG10 too and it does blow LOL. That little bastard is LOUD though huh? I just picked up a VOX VT-30. It's pretty sweet definately worth checking out if you looking for a new amp
@mwiguitar62 Up until last year, the price difference between 1000 and 400 was a bit more than what it is now. Clearly you get a better build quality out of the Korean made. Luckily my 500 (one before 400) was Korean made and is nice to play with. I have worked with various 1000s and I definitely do not notice it being WAY better but being only $100 more, it is nice. And you get more color option. I think the binding is a bit much on it though.
@RIPRR1982 gibson les pauls studio are not even as good as epiphone's custom guitars, if you want to have that super especial gibson sound the les paul must be at less a traditional, sorry for bad english :)
sry man i couldnt reply to your comment because the new look of the you tube is fuc*** up and it has a lot of errors i thought the pickups in the esp ec401 vf and i wanted to ask you which pickups were in the epiphone and if they are passive or not thx
@tonikkstoja Epiphone LP Custom comes with passive Epi stock pickups. In my opinion no where as good as the 59 and JB combo you will see in ESP LTD 401VF. My Epi Custom however now has Blackouts which made that guitar much sweeter. But if you are comparing apple to apple, I'd go with the LTD 401VF. DAMN nice guitar and a great finish.
i was referring to esp ec-401, also i wanted to ask you a qustion about the pickups on an epiphone lp custom i wanted to know if the pickups on that guitar are as good as the pickups on esp ec-401...sry about my english i`m from croatia :D
@tonikkstoja EC-401 has EMG 81 and 60 a la Jame Hetfield of Metallica and will need 9v battery. EC-401VF uses Seymour Duncan 59 and JB which are passive and will not need 9v battery. Stock pickups that come with Epi LP Custom isn't much to talk about - I ripped mine out after this video and changed to Blackouts.
@MrDrummerFreak Hey Drummer. For LTD EC series, I wouldn't touch it unless you can step up to 400 series. It's a bit iffy with 200 series. Similar goes with Epiphones, I wouldn't touch anything below custom, tribute, or 1959 reissue. Anything below, you got quality issues. Having said that, I will throw you a curve ball. I'd consider a PRS SE Tremonti signature. It's a singlecut like LP, cleans up nicely but rocks hard. Much better made than EC256 or Epi STD.
awsome vid i just wanted to ask you if seymour duncans need a need 9V battery or not? I want to buy that guitar so i want to know everythin about them :D
With modern day Eclipses, you get a VF series which is more LP like or a regular series that are thinner and coming with EMG pups tuned more for metal-like playing. Not saying it can't be versatile but you know where i'm getting at. So pick your weapon wisely! :) Take care!
Well even your LP with a high action can be taken to a tech and get adjusted for proper action, right? Having said that, all the Eclipses I have seen (many) do tend to come with low enough action. I love all my ESP/LTD guitars for that reason among many.
To answer your question straight up - it's closer to an Ibanez.
That would have been horrible. Then again seeing how Gibson does business lately, another stupid idea and decision by them would not surprise me. Take care bro! Thanks for checking out the video.
Certainly the guitars aside from the EMG models have a much tougher time dealing with the gain. Its a toss up that for me would have to come down to neck feel. That Agile seems like an intersting model. The Ibanez sounds suprisingly decent. I would nix the Gibson and the Black beauty for sure. The slash model was ok. Thanks for uploading.
It is up to how tight that budget is. At $500 to $700 market price, Epis are all right. I wouldn't touch any Epis below $350. Ibanez ART series is nicely done and has responsive pickups and good feel to 'em while being aggressively priced.
Hi Rula. Not the first time I heard that exact comment. I am aware of the audio quality issue as well as my "lack" of skills! :) I thank you for checking it out and leaving me your words. I appreciate it. Take care!
Epi custom since this video has been changed. I popped in SD Blackouts and it actually has some personality now. I was able to afford tweaking that LP since I have many other LPs. I still love Edwards by ESP and Epi Tribute model from my newer video.
have you checked out my Agile Dauntless guitar review? It's what they sell nowadays so check it out! Thanks for checking out the vid. I really appreciate it.
Nice one. The ESP and the Gibson was identical on the clean sound. That was imprssive. I've never played on an ESP. I love Epiphones. I've got a Les Paul standard in Trans Amber, just going to get one of those new 1959 ones. Also been impressed with Italia guitars, I just got an Italia Rimini, amazing jazz tones and a low smooth playing action. Also Duesenberg guitars. They do some nice Les paul shapes.
Thank you! The ESP Edwards unit is somewhat hard to get in US which adds the "rarity" value but eBay is handy for that. I love that guitar. Quality is incredible at its price point and stacks nicely against my Gibby LPs and higher end Epis as well as other things. Thanks fro stopping by!
Thank you so much. It's comments like yours that make it worth while to do videos like this. I hope it helps and hope you get into world of guitar playing soon. It is fun! Take care.
Just picked up a brand new Schecter Solo 6 Classic Lefty for $350, see my video. Schecter and ESP are owned by the same company. Going to get the Agile AL3100 next. Another point is the quality of workmanship, fit and finish, and materials used, ex. plastic vs. Mother of Pearl. Great video, really learned a lot, great to see a comparison by someone who owns them all, not biased.
The Epi was dead matter of fact in many different ways. Since then I had her redone with Seymour Duncan Blackouts and now she breathes fire. I will be uploading a video of that soon. Thanks for checking out the vid! Take care!
hey man how do u like the bugera amps? I know they're are new and that they are a perfect budget tube amp. I wanna know if you could compare it to other amps like how it compares to a blues junior or a mesa etc

Any input is welcomed thanks.
fusionista 1 year ago
@fusionista When I got my Agile way back several years ago, they were put together better than the ones sold today, albeit with more options today than then. Ones from recent orders show uneven frets and other minor issues but it is still a lot of guitar for the price. If you get one, definitely spend $60 and have your local tech set it up for you. it will go a long way.
gh05trider9 1 year ago

Well sometimes that is.
tuck234 1 year ago
You're a guitar junkie,I thought the Agile and the Edwards looked alike body wise.
TheZepmeister 1 year ago
@TheZepmeister The Agile (mine is old) was a dead knock-off of a Gibson Les Paul as far as body dimension-wise. Of course they doctored the headstock to make it a bit different. SInce then, their newer models have totally different body dimension especially the lower horn. Edwards LP is THE EXACT same dimension as a Gibby LP right down to headstock shape and makes no apology for it. Gibson doesn't care since it is "supposed" to be sold only in Japan... That's why they look alike body wise.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
@gh05trider9 Yeah I know about the Olde and new Agiles, still nice looking though.I've been doing alot of research on Lp copies ordered via the net,why I want to get one this way is beyond me.The adventure of it I guess.Unfortunately the Edwards models are out of my budget but the Agile isn't.Anyway seeing your into Les Paul copies check out White Bridge music, they have a line called SVK Elp pros, looks tempting but I want to see more reviews before I buy. They have an awsome looking flame top.
TheZepmeister 1 year ago
@TheZepmeister I hear you brother. Do keep in mind that my Edwards was in a PRESTINE condition when I bought it used. And it only cost me hair over what a new Agile would have cost me. If you are not in a hurry, keep looking while waiting. The quality of Edwards far superior over Agiles or Xavierres of such.

@gh05trider9 hey how do you find your bugera amp"? theyre really cheap and your one sounds great
tangypasta 1 year ago
@tangypasta Well I don't know if I would say they sound "great". Consequently I have sold both Bugera 1990 and 6262 which I owned at some point in the past. The 1990 emulates Marshall and I wasn't quite sure if it really sounded like one. So it went. Then the 6262 which I thought I loved its high gain tone, I found myself not reaching for that amp often. It is a nice budget gain amp but once I got my Engl and Mesa, out it went. Dialed in properly, 6262 I still dig.

@urkingod i find that expensive, i have to buy them from my own earned money at 15th age, so i am happy with a $400-$500 guitar

Wow! Agile sounds terrific - never really looked into those before. Is it all original?
intrsoul 1 year ago
@intrsoul Thank you. When this video was made, the Agile was in stock configuration. Since then, the fretwires have been evened out and pups were changed from no name stock picups to Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
@gh05trider9 Huh - reading through the other comments, you mention the Agile isn't worth looking for. Do you mean that model, or Agiles in general? Build Quality? All the specs look great, as if they choose the important stuff - solid Mahogany bodies, Mahogany neck (not multi-piece ply like some of the other guitars here.)
intrsoul 1 year ago

The epis are ok, but nothing i could fall in love :)

ok..ive sen ur other videos..and you say you only like to collect guitars..you are not like a solid player you say..you are pretty good. but honestly..the smartest decision you made in all of these is the ec-500, it has the great active pickups, the awesome classic yet heavy metal looking shape, the les pauls are way to overpriced. you probly got the ec-500 for less than most of ur les pauls. but at least you got more than one guitar. so awesome reviews man.
irishrocker171 1 year ago
@irishrocker171 Hey Thanks for kind words bro. I do love the EC-500 and as I said in a video, I got that used and paid way less than what it would have sold normally. I do feel that it is a bit one dimensional but truth is in the pudding. I reach for that guitar often. It is light, and has a mean bark when I wanna crank up some heavy riffage. Thanks again for checking out the vids. Take care!
gh05trider9 1 year ago
Dude that agile is the tits!!
Macsk8ing 1 year ago
I think that the Slash Epi and the Gibson where the better. The next one was the Agile. But i bet that an Agile 3100 or a 3000m could be in the same category than the Epi and the Gibby....compare an Epiphone Standard, Agile AL-2500 and Gibson Les Paul Standard, and see that there is no 1000$ difference between them. For me the other guitars werent even rivals to these 3, there were just like a Super Strat with the shape of a Les Paul. Great video anyway, keep them comming! :D
djluis49 1 year ago
i dont hate les pauls but i would never buy one because the sound like crap. like the other day i played a gibson les paul standerd and sounded like crap. and look at the price thay go for!!! just to say i do like one les paul and that is the les paul jr.
jamesreptile1109908 1 year ago
@jamesreptile1109908 Gibson is one of the most renouned sounds in the guitar world. You must have bad ears, or a junk amp. I can understand you being mad because you cant afford one but dont go bashing one of the greatest American made guitars.

gh05trider9 1 year ago
Hey dude... to compare it to a real Gibby LP, you should have tried out the ESP LTD EC 401 VF... the Seymour Duncan's are the best... and in my opinion is the closest thing to a Gibson (for 700 bucks).
bateriasautosil 1 year ago
@bateriasautosil I skipped EC-401VF because of my Edwards LP being in the mix made from the same factory with same pups.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
How well does the ESP-LTD EC 500 sustain compared to the others? The reason I ask is because it looks like it's the thinnest (body wise).
AutodromoF1 1 year ago
@AutodromoF1 This is the type of a question I love! Very acute observation! On a high gain setting, EMG will make it sustain for a while but a natural sustain wise, it is only about 5 out of 10 compared to the others as far as sustain is concerned. But its light weight helps A LOT when playing standing up and that neck is just so easy to play.

hey ive seen your video on the tribute and i was wondering do you think that the Gibson studio faded is better or the tribute. i play classic rock and mostly 70s and 80s rock
MrGuitarist979 1 year ago

AudioImpression 1 year ago
@AudioImpression I'd definitely get the LTD EC1000 and save a few dollars over ESP version of it.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
@AudioImpression I had a EC-1000 and I currently have a ESP Eclipse II (I owned both at the same time and compared them at the time). I love the EC-1000 and it truly was the best LTD, you are correct. However, at the end of the day, the Eclipse had a better sound and the quality was a little better as well (believe it or not) so I sold the LTD and kept the ESP (the Eclipse sustains for DAYS!). I think you are making the right choice. Good luck!

gh05trider9 1 year ago
@gh05trider9 well,
i'd much rather just get a 1000
but do you think its better?
mwiguitar62 1 year ago
@mwiguitar62 unless you are speaking of ESP version of EC-1000, difference between LTD EC-1000 vs LTD EC-400 very slim. Same wood, same electronics, same everything except binding. In other words, no tone difference between 1000 and 400. Then again the cost difference is about only $100 now between the 2. If you step up to ESP version of EC-1000, you are looking at like $1400.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
@gh05trider9 well the ESP version is the Eclipse II correct? No I am not talking about that one, I'm talking about the ESP LTD EC-1000 VB Deluxe, it is about 800$ and if its only 100$ more I'd rather get it for 100$ more,I've been doing research and it says the only major difference is that EC-400's are Indonesia made while EC-1000 are Korean made. Also, I've only been playing for a year and really really need a new amp, (I've got a Marshall MG10, fails miserably)I play heavy stuff, suggestions?
mwiguitar62 1 year ago
@mwiguitar62 I'd agree MG10 kinda blows. Without going way out of your way for a super expensive amp, I'd definitely recommend Peavey Vyper line of amps. Tons of modeling high gain amps like 6505 and very versatile. Also consider the new Bugera TriRec which is a knock off of Mesa Rectifier amp. It is brutal.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
@mwiguitar62 Hahaha I've got a MG10 too and it does blow LOL. That little bastard is LOUD though huh? I just picked up a VOX VT-30. It's pretty sweet definately worth checking out if you looking for a new amp

mwiguitar62 1 year ago
@mwiguitar62 Up until last year, the price difference between 1000 and 400 was a bit more than what it is now. Clearly you get a better build quality out of the Korean made. Luckily my 500 (one before 400) was Korean made and is nice to play with. I have worked with various 1000s and I definitely do not notice it being WAY better but being only $100 more, it is nice. And you get more color option. I think the binding is a bit much on it though.

sry man i couldnt reply to your comment because the new look of the you tube is fuc*** up and it has a lot of errors i thought the pickups in the esp ec401 vf and i wanted to ask you which pickups were in the epiphone and if they are passive or not thx
tonikkstoja 1 year ago
@tonikkstoja Epiphone LP Custom comes with passive Epi stock pickups. In my opinion no where as good as the 59 and JB combo you will see in ESP LTD 401VF. My Epi Custom however now has Blackouts which made that guitar much sweeter. But if you are comparing apple to apple, I'd go with the LTD 401VF. DAMN nice guitar and a great finish.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
i was referring to esp ec-401, also i wanted to ask you a qustion about the pickups on an epiphone lp custom i wanted to know if the pickups on that guitar are as good as the pickups on esp ec-401...sry about my english i`m from croatia :D
tonikkstoja 1 year ago
@tonikkstoja EC-401 has EMG 81 and 60 a la Jame Hetfield of Metallica and will need 9v battery. EC-401VF uses Seymour Duncan 59 and JB which are passive and will not need 9v battery. Stock pickups that come with Epi LP Custom isn't much to talk about - I ripped mine out after this video and changed to Blackouts.
gh05trider9 1 year ago
@MrDrummerFreak Hey Drummer. For LTD EC series, I wouldn't touch it unless you can step up to 400 series. It's a bit iffy with 200 series. Similar goes with Epiphones, I wouldn't touch anything below custom, tribute, or 1959 reissue. Anything below, you got quality issues. Having said that, I will throw you a curve ball. I'd consider a PRS SE Tremonti signature. It's a singlecut like LP, cleans up nicely but rocks hard. Much better made than EC256 or Epi STD.

@DavidJAB1111 If you don't mind me asking, what type of Gibby do you have?
gh05trider9 2 years ago
With modern day Eclipses, you get a VF series which is more LP like or a regular series that are thinner and coming with EMG pups tuned more for metal-like playing. Not saying it can't be versatile but you know where i'm getting at. So pick your weapon wisely! :) Take care!
gh05trider9 2 years ago
Well even your LP with a high action can be taken to a tech and get adjusted for proper action, right? Having said that, all the Eclipses I have seen (many) do tend to come with low enough action. I love all my ESP/LTD guitars for that reason among many.
To answer your question straight up - it's closer to an Ibanez.

gh05trider9 2 years ago
Certainly the guitars aside from the EMG models have a much tougher time dealing with the gain. Its a toss up that for me would have to come down to neck feel. That Agile seems like an intersting model. The Ibanez sounds suprisingly decent. I would nix the Gibson and the Black beauty for sure. The slash model was ok. Thanks for uploading.

hey i wanted to buy a les paul in a tight budget so is epiphone better or ibanez sound wise. thanx
pcpilot96 2 years ago
It is up to how tight that budget is. At $500 to $700 market price, Epis are all right. I wouldn't touch any Epis below $350. Ibanez ART series is nicely done and has responsive pickups and good feel to 'em while being aggressively priced.
