  • Nice

  • and why the captain wearing gloves?????????? ))

  • I love callout "approaching decision height"

  • what in the world makes this pilot wear gloves while piloting???? )))))))

  • Who in the hell( besides the Japs and Koreans) wear gloves in the cockpit ?

  • at the start turn up your volume and you can here someone saying, A kitten pissing on a velvet cushion

  • Why is the captain wearing gloves?

  • In front it looks like a simulator, but if u see the left side it's real. so people who say this is fake, are such idiot's

  • I meant B744, its the lazy way of writing Boeing 747 - 400 series. B744 is how this aircraft appeared on my last companies roster and I believe it to be the industry standard. we referred to Airbus A340's in the same way, so the 300 series was A343 and the 600 series A346. Hope that helps.

  • do you mean B747? or do you mean B744?

  • The 747-400 is a ladies' airplane which is light on the controls and requires no extraordinary hands-on muscle power. Hands hardly get sweaty in the air conditioned cockpit. The wearing of gloves by a crew member on a commercial airline jet is perceived by most pilots as being weird showmanship, if not gay.

  • YOU´RE RIGHT!

  • smooth landing.

  • why do they wear gloves ? :p

  • I love Virgin Atlantic have flown with them lots of times to Orlando for my annual holiday and its always been a smooth flight and the cabin crew are as always very professional and do a great job.

  • OMG! That pilot on the left come round my house last night to pick up a caravan I sold on ebay for £8,000 lol!! He said that he wanted a caravan for him and his kids because he was bored of staying abroad! lol.. he was well kool! asked him loads of cool stuff!.....

  • Haha i bet you're full of Sh*t. What was his name then? I happen to know who the captain his because i flew his last flight before retirement.

  • I saw your video of that! Very good (Y) Do you know why he always seems to wear gloves? Is it company policy or just his own thing?

    Cheers

  • yeah and he came to my house to buy toilet roll i sold on ebay for 9000£ it's amazing!! such a small world!!!

  • HaHa,, No seriously he did, He was with his brother and his brother was obviously trying to tell us that this man with him was a pilot for VA but the pilot himself wasn't too keen that his brother was trying to tell us. Probably because he was proud of his brothers job. But he said he doesn't enjoy ging abroad on holiday now as he does it frequently and wants a nice caravan for holidaying around the uk! No joke,,

  • sure....

  • This is the problem with youtube, virtual freaks who think anything other than computer related is fake. Look, why the hell would i make up some story about him buying my caravan? Im not that sad mate, and he brought it for £6995, the caravan was a sprite major 5 and he said he lived in Oxforshire.... Im sorry if your too insucure to believe people...

  • Bought, not brought. They are two different words.

  • cool i wish i could get a chance to do that

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously you've not been in a simulator and i guess that your not aware pilots and cabin crew can go in the cockpit.... also i really wouldn't bother faking a youtube video, more important things to do enc2014!!!!!

  • I cant stand it when people like that come on here and act like they no everything. How stupid.

  • that is the fucking airplane itself you idout callling out the approach height!!

  • You're a fool

  • its real not fake

  • Why if you think this video clip is fake then you need to get new glasses.

  • how do you get in the cockpit on landing?please tell

  • You have to be part of the crew >.>

  • or pilot's relative or friend..

  • No.

  • ya, my friend's father is a pilot and he let's me in the cockpit during landing and takeoff when i want to.

  • And if the FAA ever found out about that, he'd be fired and his license would be taken away.

  • Not everyone is american for gods sake. FAA is only in the US.

  • Yea I'm aware of that.. I'm also pretty sure airlines from other countries frown upon having civilians in the cockpit while landing.

  • Thanks weird, I was on a United Airlines flight from KORD to RJAA and this nice flight attendant let me inside the cockpit during cruising altitude. I think it's because im was only 13 and I was flying by myself.

  • i thought that was made illegal after 9/11 but clearly a 13 year-old isnt going to hijack an aircraft. no offense to the victims though.

  • Looks like Captain Simon Wood

  • negative.....!!!!!

  • whys he wearin that glove

  • He Was Probaply A Ex-RAF Pilot,In The RAF they wear White Gloves,it also has a silky feeling.

  • ok thanks

  • Or he is a wanted assassin, and doesn't want to leave his finger prints on the plane! Just kidding...but seriously, he could be an assassin.

  • hahaha LOL

  • @yopapa60 He's a greaty fan of Wacko Jacko!

  • just love it when ur on a plane and they turn the engines to reverse and ti goes real load!

  • Nice video. That looked like runway 24R.

  • is it a requirement that english pilots use gloves like the japanese pilots? in my opinion it gives the pilots a sleek look as if they were drivers of a rolls royce.

  • that's not the best way to look like for a pilot...

  • is this an autoland?

  • Negative, autopilot was disengaged at 1000' and was a left hand seat landing.

  • Lol very nice video :) who was talking and what about? all I got was "pissing on a velvet cushion init" oO lol

  • Ha Ha I heard that too...imagine the conversations they would have with each other when they are in that flight deck for hours :)

  • SWEET MAN! so cool to be a pilot! respect.

  • Wow! Great video, thanks for posting, love the 747 and virgin atlantic, keep up the great work.

Thankyou again! Long live the 747!

  • Nice video. Is that a sock puppet on the pilots hand?? Just kidding lol.

  • Nice video. Thanks

  • Travel to almost anywhere in modern asia, and many employees in public transportation i.e. busses/trains/taxis etc... are required to wear white gloves for sanitary purposes. Pilots are no exception over there.

  • An old sim instructor once told me to never trust a pilot who wears gloves as it means his hands sweat too much!

  • what does that even mean, what a load of BS

  • Awesome video!

  • That was a really smooth landing!

  • Yeah, why is the captain wearing gloves?

  • They wear them for grip. A lot of old Pilot's wear them.

PS. Well done on getting into the cockpit of a 747, kips.

  • The stringback just gives a bit of extra purchase

  • I was cabin crew so i was lucky, doing my pilot training now!!!

  • Exactly....!!!

  • How many of you commentators are airline pilots? if you aren't then I would suggest you have NO idea what constitutes professional behaviour or otherwise

  • they can say what tha hell they like. its not as if tha whole plane can hear them!

  • Touche!

  • The guy speaking is in the other observers seat sat next to me, so its him you can hear not the operating pilots!!

  • Im sure he says, like a kid pissin on a velvet cusion!!!! how rude!

  • Why is the captain wearing gloves?

  • Apparently!! He's old school and its a bit of a RAF thing from 1914!! I did mention it to him and was banned from the flight deck on the return sector!!

  • They didn't seem very professional, what was all that about pin on a cushion? And then a lack of call-outs during descent and landing.

  • Long sector.... guess they were a little bored of each other by the important bit!!!

  • this flight looks a bit wobbly lol!
