I meant B744, its the lazy way of writing Boeing 747 - 400 series. B744 is how this aircraft appeared on my last companies roster and I believe it to be the industry standard. we referred to Airbus A340's in the same way, so the 300 series was A343 and the 600 series A346. Hope that helps.
The 747-400 is a ladies' airplane which is light on the controls and requires no extraordinary hands-on muscle power. Hands hardly get sweaty in the air conditioned cockpit. The wearing of gloves by a crew member on a commercial airline jet is perceived by most pilots as being weird showmanship, if not gay.
I love Virgin Atlantic have flown with them lots of times to Orlando for my annual holiday and its always been a smooth flight and the cabin crew are as always very professional and do a great job.
OMG! That pilot on the left come round my house last night to pick up a caravan I sold on ebay for £8,000 lol!! He said that he wanted a caravan for him and his kids because he was bored of staying abroad! lol.. he was well kool! asked him loads of cool stuff!.....
HaHa,, No seriously he did, He was with his brother and his brother was obviously trying to tell us that this man with him was a pilot for VA but the pilot himself wasn't too keen that his brother was trying to tell us. Probably because he was proud of his brothers job. But he said he doesn't enjoy ging abroad on holiday now as he does it frequently and wants a nice caravan for holidaying around the uk! No joke,,
This is the problem with youtube, virtual freaks who think anything other than computer related is fake. Look, why the hell would i make up some story about him buying my caravan? Im not that sad mate, and he brought it for £6995, the caravan was a sprite major 5 and he said he lived in Oxforshire.... Im sorry if your too insucure to believe people...
Obviously you've not been in a simulator and i guess that your not aware pilots and cabin crew can go in the cockpit.... also i really wouldn't bother faking a youtube video, more important things to do enc2014!!!!!
Thanks weird, I was on a United Airlines flight from KORD to RJAA and this nice flight attendant let me inside the cockpit during cruising altitude. I think it's because im was only 13 and I was flying by myself.
is it a requirement that english pilots use gloves like the japanese pilots? in my opinion it gives the pilots a sleek look as if they were drivers of a rolls royce.
Travel to almost anywhere in modern asia, and many employees in public transportation i.e. busses/trains/taxis etc... are required to wear white gloves for sanitary purposes. Pilots are no exception over there.
How many of you commentators are airline pilots? if you aren't then I would suggest you have NO idea what constitutes professional behaviour or otherwise
Apparently!! He's old school and its a bit of a RAF thing from 1914!! I did mention it to him and was banned from the flight deck on the return sector!!

or pilot's relative or friend..
nadimnahas1995 3 years ago
No.
scamper246 3 years ago
ya, my friend's father is a pilot and he let's me in the cockpit during landing and takeoff when i want to.
nadimnahas1995 3 years ago
And if the FAA ever found out about that, he'd be fired and his license would be taken away.
scamper246 3 years ago
Not everyone is american for gods sake. FAA is only in the US.
1053857 2 years ago 8
Yea I'm aware of that.. I'm also pretty sure airlines from other countries frown upon having civilians in the cockpit while landing.

i thought that was made illegal after 9/11 but clearly a 13 year-old isnt going to hijack an aircraft. no offense to the victims though.
