It's a real shame someone would have left that amazing model out in the weather all these years. It should have been stored or put in the museum. Glad to know it has been restored now.
Building models of various types has always been a much loved hobby of mine. I enjoy larger models, where I can recreate realistic parts and make the model look like a genuine vehicle has just been shrunken proportionately and would function if asked. I can't imagine being paid to do this. What a wonderful job.
Hah! I left a comment on the other video with the name of the tank part used near the top there.. had no idea there was a second video until I watched this where they ID'd the part.
I wonder if they will restore all of the props from this film (alien artifacts and interiorsand the ship interiors(alien and nostromo)), even recreate the ones that were destroyed. maybe do the same for Bladerunner (like the fire damaged Tyrrell building). makes you appreciate just how detailed Ridleys films were. never see the likes again
Great Job ! What a monstrosity, I can't imagine trying to do something that large and complex.

Great work!
I'm glad a piece of film history is being restored.
I have been thinking of building another, MK2 flying version.
The first one I built was really rough, I had to use a lot of licence to save weight. I did fly, but only with tethered power.
With modern LiPo batteries and brushless motors, I think I can make it work way better!
Thanks for posting!
