  • the same thing happened to skyrim because i accedentally knocked over the xbox

  • i think this guy is blind

  • @GTAVPRO: Because I'm not looking at the camera? No, I was just looking at the monitor so I could see what I was doing. I didn't really know what I was doing. Would it surprise you to learn that most people who post videos on Youtube are not professionals?

  • Favorite NHL team? Same thing happened to my NHL12 game..I will try toothpaste tomorrow. Hopefully it will work. :(

  • @pinoyxp: If you try the method in my other video, don't forget to turn on annotations so you can see the instructions. Follow them carefully, have some patience, and it should work for you.

  • The same exact thing just happened to me with my Madden game.

  • @kruelgor: Sucks, doesn't it? Luckily, scratches can be removed. You can try the toothpaste method I demonstrated in my other video or find a game store that will fix the disc for a fee. The 360 itself can be retrofitted with pads that prevent further scratching. Go to the page linked in the video information for more help.

  • why dont you replace it smart one

  • @rockAhmed123mikey: Replace the disc? The console? There was no need. Years ago, I fixed the scratches with toothpaste (see my other video) and retrofitted my 360 with pads under the DVD drive lid to prevent it from scratching more discs.

  • lmfao i dont play xbox that much and i have no time for it i only play like once in a while

  • @abd212004: You sound like you're kind of embarrassed to admit that you still play videogames at 29. If so, why? Having fun is important for mental health, in my opinion. Not all of us are able to have fun in more physical ways, so videogames are a useful alternative.

  • Nine out of ten dentist's reccomend Ps3

  • @Shilo2010: Citation needed.

  • 51 still plays xbox? wow

  • @abd212004: So you plan to stop gaming at some point? Let's see, you're 29 now. What do you think? Stop at 30? 40? 50? But then again, why stop? What's so amazing about anyone at any age playing video games? They're awesome!

  • @jrivett32 that abd kid is prob 10, and has nothing to do with his pathetic life so is insulting you for no reason man. you rock, and if you rock , you keep on rocking ;) i <3 your vids ;)

  • @SwornSaintGames: Thanks! It helps a lot to get encouragement like that, because I also have to deal with less helpful comments (to put it diplomatically).

  • Hey jrvett32 I think I may know the answer to you problem. I think the reason thy the disk is getting scratches is because it's touching the reader bulb while spinning around in your tray... This problem could be cause by the reader bulb is sat too close to the disc, and that can only be fixed if you disassemble your xbox, or you get is repaired :) I'm having reading problems, but I think I got an idea how to fix it now. Thx for the video :) and good luck fixing your problem! :)

  • @PeterRockClausen: Thanks for your comment. Since I originally posted this video, I've done a lot of research into the problem. The results of my research (so far) are on the page linked in the video information. I strongly recommend that you check it out - there's a lot of useful information there. Some 360 production runs use DVD drives that don't hold the spinning disc firmly enough in place to prevent it from lifting out of the tray and hitting the laser head.

  • @jrivett32 Thanks for your reply, I hope I can fix my xbox soon. It only read the discs sometimes, and it's anoying to wait 20 minutes before I can start the game I want to play. Anyway, I will repair my xbox soon. Thank you for your video and your reply!

  • @PeterRockClausen: No problem! Good luck.

  • @jrivett32 No offence, but maybe if you didn't move or shake your xbox while the disk was in it would not have radio burns.

  • @ReunitePeace777: I never touched the console while it was in use. 360s that scratch discs do so because the disc isn't held in place firmly enough. So moving the console while the disc is spinning will cause scratches for sure, but it's not necessary. Spinning discs tend to wobble (some more than others); when that happens, the disc can lift far enough out of the tray to hit the laser head. What is a 'radio burn'?

  • @jrivett32 A radio burn is the phrase given to the type of scratch you had.

I never knew you could get them when your game is in the console - never happened to me.

  • @ReunitePeace777: I've heard some weird, misleading terms used for this kind of scratch, with the most common being 'laser burn' and 'perfect circle scratch', both of which are also misnomers. They are scratches, not burns, and they are not always circles. But how is a radio related? Perhaps someone heard 'radial' as 'radio' and repeated it that way. Which is also wrong, since the scratches are in fact axial, not radial. I'm still looking for a better term. Axial autoscratch?

  • Hey heres a trick for all yu gamers go to your bathroom take a shit and wipe dat on your scratched disc fuckerz...

  • @young24L: Thanks! I don't think I'll try that any time soon, because toothpaste works for me, and I don't really want to handle my poop. But thanks for doing the research!! I sure hope you washed your hands afterward.

  • looks as if he were watching porn during this video!

  • @TheVanhalenaddict: Nope, just looking at myself in the monitor. My excuse: this was my first video and I didn't know what I was doing.

  • Holy shit, this video is old and STILL getting comments. Must be the beard.

  • @Tarento7386: Yeah, this is Youtube, so some of the commenters seem to think I posted it recently. On the other hand, people are still getting discs scratched by their 360s, so I'm still able to help them. But it could be the beard.

  • Xbox has always had bad CD/DVD Drives dating back to the original Xbox. With Microsoft you have to lay the console flat & horizontal. My Xbox 360 scratched Forza Motorsport 3 & I didn't have access to levels, blew my $40. With the PS2 & Wii you can stand them to save room. Even the PS2 works standing up.

  • @chinhido2: Not all XBoxes scratch discs like this. Just the ones from particular production runs. I can move my second 360 all over the place even when a game disc is spinning and it doesn't scratch the disc. MS uses different COTS DVD drives in different production runs. If you have a 360 that scratches discs, you definitely shouldn't run it vertically and you should probably install pads under the DVD drive lid to make sure it won't scratch any more.

  • @MrSebbe33 I agree with u

  • if you dont want that to happen put ur xbox so it is flat not standing up.

like some ppl can see this if this has happened

  • @peepsmith3: If you have a 360 that scratches discs, running it vertically is a bad idea for sure. Anything that allows the console to move around is bad. However, I never once ran my 360 vertically, and I never touched it while a game was playing. That's because discs tend to wobble slightly while they are spinning, and if you have a 360 that scratches discs, eventually it will scratch one even if the 360 didn't move. See the page linked in the video information for details.

  • I think its cool that older people makes videos, because theyre usaly more serious than 10 year old kids

  • @MrSebbe33: Thanks! And I agree completely.

  • He is staring at boobs for half the vid

  • @thebestatMW3: Yeah, what can I say, it was my first video. Plus I was pissed off. Also, I was trying to make sure that the video showed the scratches clearly, so I was looking at the monitor. Not boobs. At least that's my story.

  • Mine does it too, it's flat now & I'm never standing it. PS2 and Wii can do it.

  • @chinhido2: And many 360s work fine standing up no problem. But the ones that don't, will scratch the heck out of discs.

  • well go burn games for free much eaiser way and it isnt cost money o,o

  • @MultiDruster: Although I don't want to be seen as encouraging people to download games instead of buying them, you make a good point: when you buy a game, you get something that is actually less useful than if you download it, because you can do more with a downloaded version and the copy protection doesn't get in the way. People who 'pirate' games are just under-served customers. Hopefully some day big media will figure this out.

  • @jrivett32 i just dont get it why people spend thousands of dollars for games that u finish less than a day mostly. in my opinion thats just completely Stupidity

  • @MultiDruster: Hey if you're paying thousands of dollars for games you are definitely paying too much (grin). But seriously, games are over-priced. Both real-world examples and various studies have shown that you can make more money by LOWERING prices instead of raising them to retarded levels.

  • Games are supposed to take a while to finish like a month at 1 hour per night and are supposed to be for recreation. I have finished long games though like Resident Evil 4 & 5 in about 3-4-5 day's. I agree.

  • @jrivett32

    FUCK THAT SHIT!

    JUST DOWNLOAD IT

these fukn corporations got enough money anyway

  • @TuRkmEnOkaN: Don't get me wrong - I don't think downloading free media is stealing. But studies on the subject have found that most people who download a lot also buy a lot. If you only ever download and never buy, you're a statistical outlier - and a freeloader. I tend to buy when I know I'm going to be playing a game a lot or if it's from a company that aren't total dicks.

  • Downloads don't have the same high quality graphics especially depending on size. Buy buying a game you have the hard copy from the master file without degraded video and it comes with a nice case to store it for switching between games. I like the Wii case design the best followed by Xbox.

  • @chinhido2

for my ps3 i buy games but for pc i dont anymore i used to but its so expensive

  • at least im not the retard.

  • @knintly: Look, it's going to be a lot easier to have this insult contest if you learn to use the REPLY button. Now who's the retard?

  • @knintly LOL, stfu you dumbass. Go record your dumbass brother/son (I don't give a FUCK what it is to you) and keep the trolling to yourself, dumb shit.

  • oh noooo its NHL :( I love that game

  • @15PsYcO: Me too! It's always the games we like the most that get scratched, because the more you play a game, the greater the chance that it will get scratched. Anyway, I've been playing the EA NHL game since 1994 and it's the best co-op game ever, IMHO.

  • because you look like you are 40 and live with your boyfriend you fagggg. why are you making videos of scratched xbox disk

  • @knintly: Yay! Random insults from the Internet! I haven't seen one of these in months. I was starting to wonder if it would ever happen again. What a relief - everything is normal again. Ten seconds of looking at my profile would have shown you that I am in fact 51. So what? I made the video because I was pissed off and I wanted to see if other people were having the same problem. Mission accomplished. Does that answer your question? Now, what the hell are YOU doing here?

  • hello (: my xbox disk is repaired at the shop but it say sometimes unreadble but can i do toothpaste at it for no error?

  • @labbFORall: If you have a specific game that always gives you that error, and you are unable to play it, you can try the toothpaste method I demonstrate in my other video, to remove the scratch. Turn on annotations and follow the instructions carefully.

  • sorry but for me it doesnt work :(

  • @labbFORall: I think you posted this comment in the wrong video. You tried to fix your disc based on this video, nothing much would have happened, since this video is just me complaining about my disc.

  • @jrivett32 iknow I am happy For You and i believe it works But for me no:( ik get tomorrow to game mania and they can repair the disc;)

  • @labbFORall: Did you even look at the other video?

  • does the toothpaste work on mw3? rings :$

  • @labbFORall: Yes, if you use the method in my other video. Turn on annotations and make sure to follow the instructions.

  • @NSKPlasma no my gta a disk :(

  • me to

  • @thebeastly2323: See my reply to Wowwowwabzy.

  • MY MW3 disk got scrattttccheddddddddddddddddddd :(((((((((((!!!!!!

  • @Wowwowwabzy: Sorry to hear that. Several people have reported MW3 scratches. Not sure if that means the MW3 disc is unbalanced or it's just that a LOT of people are suddenly playing a LOT of MW3. Likely the latter. Anyway, you can fix the scratch with toothpaste (see my other video) and you can retrofit your 360 with foam pads on the underside of the DVD drive lid to prevent further scratches. See the page linked in the video info for details.

  • @Wowwowwabzy go to a gamestore and ask them to grind it for u

  • @Wowwowwabzy Mine Too :(

  • Is this Karl Pilkington?

  • @SuperJakepatton: Is who what now?

  • This happened to my Xbox Fifa 12 disk and I spent an hour doing the toothpaste method, do you think the cicular scratch is too deep for me to fix or should I try again?

  • @iCreaTiveProductions: Which toothpaste method did you try? Some of them are just terrible and can cause more problems. For example, some suggest leaving the toothpaste on the disc, which is a VERY bad idea. Some suggest just spreading it on and waiting, which does nothing. Many suggest using circular rubbing motions, which is also a VERY bad idea. I recommend using the method I demonstrated in my other video. Check it out. Make sure you turn on annotations.

  • in any vid. i saw in youtube they say the new xbox 360 s. makes this scratches on the cd´s if you just hold the konsole ship,..i don´t know if that´s true..sry for my englisch,...austrian ^^

  • @GHX11: Even the newer 360s can cause scratches. It all depends on the DVD drive used by Microsoft in a particular production run. Some cause scratches and some don't. Microsoft still hasn't figured this out, so they keep buying batches of drives that cause scratches. For all the details, go to the page linked in the video information.

  • call them and dont stop bothering them about it

  • @frettiss420: Assuming you're taking about calling Microsoft, I'm way ahead of you. I called them and tried to get them to help, but they just kept repeating that it was my fault. After a while I just felt worry for the support person I was talking to. It was clear that she actually believed me, but wasn't allowed to deviate from her script. So I finally just gave up and fixed it myself.

  • @jrivett32 well it could be your fault too your box might not be totally level or something BUT if it is the ink on the disc or the xbox itself, if enough people keep calling in and bothering it about the same problems maybe they will change it or help you out you know. same deal with many other companies, they dont want to help you just so they can make more money.

  • @frettiss420: Nope, not my fault, I never touched the console while it was in use. As for it being level, why does Microsoft advertise the 360, showing it standing up vertically? Obviously that's not the issue. While I think it is a good idea to bug Microsoft about this, they seem to have made up their minds to pretend it's not their problem. I'm not going to call them myself, because as I said I've fixed the problem on my 360.

  • I don't like black ops that much. So I play mw2. Quick scoping people is fun. :)

  • My black ops game doesn't work at all. This fuking sucks! >:(

  • @452brayan: What happens when you try to play it? Do you get an error message?

  • my xbox randomly scratched my fucking mw3 disk and i spent all my money on that game! im so pissed off.

  • @xJoey1994: Wow - lots of people reporting scratches on MW3 discs. Makes me wonder whether that disc has a lot of art on the top that makes the disc wobble more than other discs. You should be able to fix the disc using toothpaste (see my other video) or you might be able to find a game store that will fix the disc for you for a fee. It's also possible to fix your 360 by adding pads to the underside of the DVD drive lid. See the page linked in the video information for more details.

  • @xJoey1994 mine too i just got it today

  • my xbox scratched my mw2 disc NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @TechnicalMarine113: I feel your pain. But you should be able to fix the disc using toothpaste (see my other video) or you might be able to find a game store that will fix the disc for you for a fee. It's also possible to fix your 360 by adding pads to the underside of the DVD drive lid. See the page linked in the video information for more details.

  • @NSKPlasma wow me too

  • i didnt evn move my xbox and it scratched

  • @SoulEaterMesiter: Microsoft will never admit that's possible, but it is. And now you've experienced it first-hand. You should be able to fix the disc using toothpaste (see my other video) or you might be able to find a game store that will fix the disc for you for a fee. It's also possible to fix your 360 by adding pads to the underside of the DVD drive lid. See the page linked in the video information for more details.

  • My Xbox scratched my new Assassin's Creed Revelations, It made a big circle after playing it for 10 mins.

  • @spidersliveonearth: It sounds like you've definitely got a 360 that scratches discs. You should be able to fix the disc using toothpaste (see my other video) or you might be able to find a game store that will fix the disc for you for a fee. It's also possible to fix your 360 by adding pads to the underside of the DVD drive lid. See the page linked in the video information for more details.

  • same it ruined my saints row 3 within playing it for 15 minuites

  • @TheGuyFromThatAlley: Fifteen minutes! Lame. But you should be able to fix the disc using toothpaste (see my other video) or you might be able to find a game store that will fix the disc for you for a fee. It's also possible to fix your 360 by adding pads to the underside of the DVD drive lid. See the page linked in the video information for more details.

  • This fucking runied my mw3 disc.

  • @nazoshade: Sucks, doesn't it? It seems like when certain popular new games come out, people post comments here that their copy got scratched by their 360. I'm trying to figure out if it's something to do with specific games, or it's just that people are playing the new games for LONG periods of time, which increases the chance that a 360 that scratches discs will scratch this particular disc. How long had you been playing when it got scratched?

  • My Skyrim cd -.- took it home and started the game than i moved the box and .....

  • @nbkkns: Does the game still play?

  • @nbkkns same thing happened to me just a moment ago...with skyrim

  • @nbkkns did it with saints row 3 myself, but I accidentally knocked the fucker over... so at least don't feel alone OK?

  • HEY I HAVE THE GAME Vegeta RED DEAD REDEMPTION AND ME IF LAVO PREGUNTAVA DENTALSERVIRIA CREAM FOR SCRATCHES AND THE GAME WILL NOT NOTHING HAPPENED OR THAT ...

  • @DARK5031: It looks like your comment went through a translator. Unfortunately, I can't understand what you're trying to say.

  • @NSKPlasma kk nab

  • @NSKPlasma idgaf about my age nigga and yeah you know something idgaf for my mother im already too mature to spot a noob posted the same comment in 200 Videos... for thumbs up

your just a thumbs up whore...

  • DUDE u look like Francis from Left 4 Dead 1 an let me guess "U Hate Xbox" haha

  • @ThaGamerBoi: That's funny. People say I look like Louie, and someone else I can't remember, but that's the first time anyone has said I look like Francis. But yeah, if I was Francis, I'd be all, like, "I hate XBox!"

  • @jrivett32 yea but i subbed an i like left 4 dead,,well i love left 4 dead is still play the first one,,im actually playin it in my room right now,,but hay if u still got a xbo u should message me an mabe we could play

  • @NSKPlasma LMAO!!! We got a situation here bro!

  • is mw2 good without live

  • @bhanskate: If you're asking whether Modern Warfare 2 is a good game even if it can't be played with other people over the Internet, in my opinion the answer is YES. It supports split screen, so you can still play with other people. My main complaints are that there's no way to play the single-player campaign in split-screen mode, and there's just not enough content.

  • @bhanskate u need to buy live,,an hav u ever played mw2,,cuz im surprised that u even asked that question

  • i usually fart on the disk then act out the content of the game using the disk as a prop or a character then go for a 20 mile run with it in my shoe then put it in the console and it works every time.

  • @wwechamp7: Vid or GTFO.

  • this guy must have no life

  • @knintly: Well, yes. But I'm curious: what makes you say that?

  • @NSKPlasma i got no problems but im tired of seeing every video on how to fix it and seeing a noob called NSKPlasma saying this bs on every video to get thumbs up,i got no problem with you but stop this is annoying

  • @NSKPlasma ur viewing every video and you ask for fucking thumbs up? what a noob

  • @NSKPlasma: Interesting. When MW2 came out, I did notice a bunch of people posting that their MW2 disc was scratched. Initially I thought that the MW2 disc was particularly susceptible to scratching, possibly due to being imbalanced because of the art on the top of the disc. Now I wonder if it wasn't just that so many people were playing it at that time, and leaving the game running for extended periods. It's difficult to know for sure either way.

  • @jrivett32 dude mine just broke cos i threw my controller at my xbox when i got tubed across map again

  • @MrProAmos: I think if you look carefully at the fine print in the XBox 360 warranty card, it says that damage caused by throwing things at the console are not covered. No, not really, but you could imply it since it does say not to move your console while in use. Let me know if you need help fixing your disc.

  • after a few weeks of me being away from i returned and wanted to play dead island... i put the disc in, it started regularly but when it was in the loading screen it froze! turned my xbox off, did the same procedure and had the same result. i opened the tray to look at the cd and there wasn't anything! i put it back inside and when i tried to run it a message saying the disc is unreadable popped up, i looked at the cd afterwards and it had a scratch like yours only a bit smaller.. what can i do?

  • @NeroAngeloGR: See my reply to your similar comment on my other video.

  • @NeroAngeloGR sounds like laser burn not a scratch

  • @xxHATESxTHExWORLDxx: 'Laser burn' is a misnomer. The laser in a DVD drive cannot 'burn' the surface of a DVD and cannot cause these kind of marks. They are scratches, pure and simple. Where do these goofy ideas come from?

  • @jrivett32 It's caused by deterioration of the laser cable(due to say, overuse, sometimes from friction on the lens) its really not a laser burn its a scratched caused by the lens of the system. i used to work at a game store and i ve see this happen ALOT But the term used to describe what has happened is Laser Burn call anygame stop they will tell you the same thing

  • @xxHATESxTHExWORLDxx: Sorry, but working at Gamestop does not make someone an expert on this. If staff at Gamestops have decided to call these scratches 'laser burns' then they are spreading disinformation. The scratches are caused when a spinning disc lifts out of the tray and contacts the laser head. 'Deterioration of the laser cable' makes no sense to me, can you explain that?

  • @jrivett32 I did not say that game stop employees have named it that But that is the commonly used term for these circles , they contact the laser head that causes friction heat on the disk can and usually does corrupt game data stored on the disk , Thats why its refered to as laser burn I didnt mean the laser shoots a frigin beam for god sake you post a video about a question you have someone tells you whet it is and you want to cross reference me and tell me how its caused when i know

  • @xxHATESxTHExWORLDxx: If a hard object makes contact with a fast-moving surface and digs a groove into it, that's a scratch. Sure, heat is going to be generated, but the heat isn't what causes the damage. And the laser head is what's causing the damage, not the laser itself. So while 'laser burn' may be a commonly-used term, it's still not accurate. 'Circle scratch' is also a misnomer because these scratches are often quite short. We need a good name for this! How about 'head scratch'?

  • @jrivett32 I get what your saying but the thing im saying is that A common scratch can be filled and the disk would work again in a "laser burn scratch" the disk heats to a point that the Data is ruined inside so even if u fix the scratch the game can never be read again.

  • @xxHATESxTHExWORLDxx: Nope. The scratches caused by the disc hitting the laser head are essentially the same as any other scratch, except that they are regular, axial, deep and often both wide and long. Still just scratches though. I've polished out terrible scratches like that using toothpaste and disc repair kits. There's no heat damage involved. That said, it's possible a scratch could be so deep that it reaches the data layer, in which case the disc is toast, but I've never seen that myself.

  • @jrivett32 Well I'm not going to argue with a person posting a video about his disk issues if you know so much about them why not fix it , If you honestly think toothpaste removes scratches Then I cant help you Ive seen Hundreds of these scratches And not just a few but its people who think they know exactly how everything works who have little experience with it , But keep rubbing tooth paste on your games Im sure thats gonna help quite a bit

  • @xxHATESxTHExWORLDxx: Actually, I did fix it. I've fixed a bunch of these nasty scratches with toothpaste, as have many other people, using the method I demonstrated in my other video. I also fixed the 360, by installing foam pads on the underside of the DVD drive lid. The pads prevent a spinning disc from lifting out of the disc tray and hitting the laser head. For all the technical details and lots more help, check out the page linked in the video information.

  • Aw that's funny, people are actually trying to rip into you for playing games? Clearly games are marked with age restrictions for a reason no? The reason I am on here is to find out how to fix my 32 yo boyfriends disc. Does 32 mean that he is too old to play games? Or is it as soon as you turn a certain age you cannot play games? The fact that you are taking the piss out of someone makes you a whole lot more immature. Maybe you should get a life and not try to get all hip with a keyboard.

  • @chrissiemuir: Thanks for your support! I think the idea that 'grown-ups' play games bothers some younger gamers because they see it as their own 'turf' so to speak. Sort of like a bunch of adults showing up at a McDonalds Playland and shoving all the children out. It's prejudice, pure and simple, and as with other prejudices, lack of exposure is the root of the problem. These young gamers have never seen adult gamers because their parents aren't gamers, so 'adults don't play games'.

  • Yeah shit happens man half my disks ended up the same way such a piss off but oh well wut can ya do :)

  • @hammatymee: As it turns out, you can both fix the scratches (toothpaste really works - see my other video) and fix your console so that it stops scratching discs. Go to the page linked in the video information for lots more details.

  • Aren't u way to old to play games old man how bout u return to your wife & kids stop worrying about a game disk.

  • @dre8431: (Copied from an earlier reply, which I am using as boilerplate for replies to this ridiculous question): Here we go again with with someone who thinks games are only for children. So, at exactly what age is everyone supposed to stop playing games? I'm curious.

  • @dre8431 you know how they have game ratings? E being for younger kids,T for teens, and M for mature. games are meant for everyone asshole

  • Comment removed

  • nice one good keep it up yar

  • @mehran256: Thanks?

  • dude am kidding want the eal one how to clean m disk not this!

  • @gangter894: What? Try posting your comment again, this time in English.

  • @jrivett32 lol i want you post something that u can clean the disk and if you already did it didn't work!

  • @gangter894: Okay, I think I understand what you're saying. You want me to post something (a comment? a video?) saying that I can clean a disc. I think you must mean 'repair', not 'clean'. Cleaning a disc is not the same thing as repairing it. I actually do have a video that shows how I was able to repair my scratched discs. You should be able to find it on my channel page at the top right. I'm still not sure what you mean by 'if you already did it didn't work.'

  • @jrivett32 uh dude my brian is on party mode so am not suppose to learn any thing

  • @gangter894: Who's Brian? Anyway, I can't help you if you can't tell me what the problem is.

  • It sucks! Here in Brazil you pay $1200+ for the console(that's right) and you'll be LUCKY to get one that doesn't scratch your disks.

IT'S A DISGRACE! Gaming is becoming more and more of a joke everyday!

  • @leopower7: Whoa! $1200? Why so pricey? Are all consumer electronics expensive in Brazil? But I agree it's a disgrace that Microsoft hasn't owned up to the scratching problem.

  • @jrivett32 Yes my friend. If you'd see the prices here, you wouldn't even believe them. Government is a joke :/

  • @leopower7: Is there a black market for electronics? Do people smuggle them in from other countries to sell them at lower prices? Usually that's what happens when governments impose excessive and unnecessary taxes: the people take the matter into their own hands. What is the rationale for the high prices?

  • @jrivett32 I tried the toothpaste, but it only worked for my scratched dirt 2 once, then it came back to that dirty disk error. What can I do? :(

Well, there is no black market; there is only piracy. Usually the people that buy legit games are rich or the ones that don't value their hardwork.

The reason for the high prices is the corrupt government -- absurd taxes and such. Can you believe games here(normal versions, not these fancy limited ones) cost $250?

  • @leopower7: Those prices are crazy. Taxes like that make the people restless, as your government should know by now. As for toothpaste, did you try the method I showed in my other video? Give it a try, but make sure you follow the instructions carefully (turn on annotations). Some of the other toothpaste methods out there are just plain crazy, like the one that says to leave the toothpaste on the disc.

  • @jrivett32 Yes, I did exactly as your video "Fixing XBox 360 game disc scratches with toothpaste" said, and then I used toilet paper because I have no flanels around here.

The strange thing, is that it worked perfectly once, but after I switched the x360 off and then tried to play again, it gives the same error it was giving before...

  • @leopower7: Toilet paper feels soft enough, but in fact at a microscopic level it's rough. Anything cotton, like a clean cotton tshirt, should work. I would go back and try it again, but also look for other scratches. Even very short ones can cause problems if they're axial and deep.

  • @jrivett32 Oh, i see. Will cotton do?

  • @leopower7: Yes, anything cotton and clean.

  • @jrivett32 And if you try to buy outside Brazil, the government usually stops the product when it comes in, and verify it to tax again...

  • Heh didn't work, ah well. My disc was a rental, it was scratched before I hired it so not my problem end of the day. On a side, discs would be harder to scratch if Microsoft actually made a decent disc drive for the old 360s.

  • @MrSpikeyness: Sorry to hear it didn't work. Since it was a rental, I would suggest that you report it as non-working to the rental store. They will probably give you a refund, and they might even be able to repair it if they have a machine for doing that. Microsoft actually uses off-the-shelf DVD drives in the 360. Some of them are suited to the task while others are not. The unsuitable drives cause scratches.

  • MANTRACKER DOESN'T PLAY GAMES

HONESTLY BRO YOU KINDA LOOK LIKE MANTRACKER

  • @Thehaloboy13: Well, my grandad was a real cowboy.
