  • Beautiful !!!!

  • Who say's Heavy Metal can't be played on a Rickenbacker !!!

  • Very good stuff. Should probably get better recording equipment though, YouTube can be very judgemental - even though what you're playing is great.

  • just ordered my own sunface. still want your ric, though.

  • Very cool.. Noisy as shit though over YouTube

  • @teleman1280 Thats how it should be :)

  • sounds like the begining of knights of cydonia live great song!

  • xD very crazy

    love that :)

  • : /

  • Everytime I'm coming back to this music I feel that it's worth to live.

  • What kind of shoegaze do you like?

    Your playing sounds so euphoric

  • Too noisy! This doesn't make me like fuzz at all.

  • @JacobawSnow But Shoegaze was noisy. It was an ambient wall of sound and distortion.

  • the sound overall is THICK and dreamy ...amazing from a 15 watt?!Of course you are getting tone from your other pedals but man, this banging...

  • sounds awesome, like an ancient celt. start a band.

  • you get around wunna!did you watch my shoegaze e-bow video?!

  • i've listened to shoegaze for a very long time and i want to start making it so for reverb are you using multiple reverb pedals?

  • @birinbirinbirin, I am only using the reverb from the amp in this video. I usually only use one reverb source. The sound that you are hearing is coming from using a lot of delay from the Boss DD-3.

If you are wanting to get a great dreampop sound, I would invest in a good delay pedal (or two). If you like the heavy fuzzed out, MBV sound, you might want to get a good fuzz pedal. I am partial to Analogman BC-108, but there are other awesome fuzz pedals out there. Hope this was helpful.

  • @birinbirinbirin You wanna make shoegaze? Here's 6 EZ steps to shoegaze:

    1) Get urself any old guitar....

    2) get a delay pedal...

    3) get any amp (it must have reverb)....

    4) turn up all output knobs (amp (and reverb), guitar and delay)

    5) don't practice or tune

    6) hit guitar strings in any order

    Wah Lah.....shoegaze!!

  • @BullhornGuy yeah it's that simple, that's why it took My Bloody Valentine 18 months to record Loveless. Go fuck yourself moron.

  • @evad520 18 months to record Loveless? Wow those guys suck even worse than their "music" lets on. Probably took them that long to hide the fact that they can't actually play...as is the case with most in this genre - douche bag.

  • @BullhornGuy actually they can play very well, they started as a rockabilly band but became bored playing trivial music.

  • @BullhornGuy Someone clearly doesn't like music.

  • @birinbirinbirin I am really into dream pop and for that style it is really a must a pedal board with a good delay pedal (personally I think Boss are the best and the most versatile). Chorus and Flanger give that lush and swirly touch when playing chords. My pedal board has Boss FZ2 Fuzz, Boss OS2 Overdrive/distortion, Boss CH1 Superchorus, Boss PH2 Superphaser, Boss BF3 Flanger and Boss DD5 Delay. Modulation and delay provide that dreamy/layered sound.

  • you never get single coil hum?

  • Not really; not on my 330, unless I have it totally cranked. I do get hum on my Strat with higher gain settings, and one certain pickup settings.

  • just awesome.. well framed shot, your stoicism and fuzzed out hymnlike lines = american gothic. i love it!

  • bravo goodsir!

  • Simply dreamy. Jolly well done.

  • Thank you! Funny, I can't believe the response and number of views this one got! I thought it was just "ok", but for some reason, other people have thought differently. Thanks again!

    :)

  • No worries - just had no idea you could get that sound or amount of sustain from a Ricky - though the pedals may help a little !

  • I'm digging that my style of playing is alot like yours trying to get a band going but freakin hard to find people that wanna do this kindof music been thinking about buying a analogman anyways great vid

  • This style of music is so obscure and it is very hard to get pepole together to play it. Well, good luck!

If you decide to get an Analogman fuzz, you won't be sorry! Just remember to get the BC-108. It's silicon and not germanium. The germanium is way lighter in sound with very little fuzz and has a much more muddier sound. The BC-108 is waaaaay more fuzzy.

  • you really are "shogazing"! Nice!

  • Great sound. I don't know if it's intentional, but I beleive you just made a nice tribute to Nick McCabe's incredible sound on the first 2 Verve albums...

  • Thank you. I'm sure that it was unintentional, but I'll take the compliment nonetheless!

    :)

  • very nice man love the effects kepp on homie

  • really great

  • very nice guitar! you use alot of reverb in this video i guess?

  • Yes. I always do!

    :)

  • Beautiful sound! Love that Rickenbacker, by the way!!!

  • you should go solo man...it's like your doing your chores around the house and one of them is........ playing this guitar for a sec..........wonder what the neighbors were saying...man thats some crazy distortion..man this might even go in my favorites it's epic.

  • your fingers get to play and sing on a lovely playground.

    peace,

    rich

  • in a big country dreams fall apart like a lover boy.. whatever I don't know the real lyrics but this sound like something epic man.... like rally the troops todd we're goin in to DIE man.. for the women and the baby's cry freedom and all that ....little bit of u2 feel to it...

  • this iz kimazing

  • your best video yet.

  • Thank you! That's one of the best compliments I have gotten!!!!

    :)

  • The Rickenbacker has such a great sound for this sort of music. It's tone is very unique... I wonder how a copy would compare.
