Abel Ferrara & Willem Dafoe: "Go Go Tales" stripper surprise

I like these guys work but I don't think they capture their subjects worlds to greatest effect, how much can art really look into the truths in reality, esp confining it to cinema? Where's the dancer who says it pays the bills, I have another life so it's no big deal or one who says this is as good as it will get for me so I'll milk it? Where's the sense of settling because they don't buy into if you work you'll get there hype vs the impossible dream? They could say something more profound.
