@juki0h As a test flight, if something goes wrong, they might need to refuel while in the air... search "refueling in air" on youtube to see how its done. I suppose, the final HondaJet wont have, its just while they are doing test flights.
Regarding the PR being way overdone comment. Once you understand what it takes to bring a brand new aircraft concept to First Flight status, you won't ever make such a mistake to think that massive celebration is not in order. It takes a tremendous amount of hard work to get to this level of new aircraft design. Honda, created a new airfoil design AND a new engine design, all in the same concept. Then they flew it for the first time. That's a very difficult assignment for any company.
Not true at all. Honda, has always been on the cutting edge of innovative engineering and design of transport technology. People know that they can buy a lawnmower, or an F1 race car from Honda. A four wheel passenger car, or a two wheel motorcycle. People also know that they can buy reliable powerplants (engines) from Honda.
So, people should not be surprised at the Honda Jet. Rather, people should be asking: Why did it take so long for Honda to build their Jet.
@owntor1 If they don't market it, how are they going to sell it? The first time a person heard "hondajet" they thought it was a joke lol. It's like Burger King announcing a line of Diamond rings. No one would believe it unless they had the opportunity to see quality and craftsmanship to convince them otherwise!
not really too familiar with aeronautics, but whats that pointy thing in the front, the long pole thing? antenna or something?

@TigerGrumman Honda has never done jets before, and it created this beauty from scratch. That must have been a lot of hard work for them.
And look at Mitsubishi--they're taking forever to build their passenger plane, even though they've built F-15Js and the like in the past.
