i love all of the the next gen fallout games fallout 3 just seemed a little more stable than new vegas but that is why i loved new vegas because it was BOOTLEG as hell!
im a big fan of fallout but obsidian and bethesda did a terrible job coding FNV.... Especially after installing the DLCs i noticed my game would slow down the frame rate constantly and then freeze. I was tyring to play the last battle of hoover dam and it took at least 10 tries before it wouldnt freeze for one playthrough. Its bullshit i have a ps3 its not like im trying to run it on a 2004 pc its a ps3.... make your games properly before you send them to stores
so no mention of fallout one since some of the developers of that worked on that also worked on this and that it takes place in vegas and has many refrences to fallout one and two and it is very much better than fallout
@dragonshot11 this game is alot diffrent i have spent over 300 hours on this game it has more gore more quest and the dlcs are better exsept dead money that you would have to be the haredest but i reecomend this game.
@crapmypants24 fallout new vegas. more stuff, better stuff, better fun then fallout 3. but it doesn't really have the "where the fuck is everybody" feeling, but it makes sense if you read about mr. house. long story, but he basically destroyed 90 out 97 nukes heading towards and near vegas.

@Krykanubis I've recently hated COD lately mostly when it comes to MW. I agree, somewhat, you are right about the fact that just because a game is the same doesn't mean that it's good, but it does tell us that the company is pretty lazy. I mean just look at Gears of War.
@227ujo its the same... with New settings, people, weapons, "factions" being introduced and being able to gain fame with people, magazines, the NCR and legion, less focus on a few factions and more about a widder range, survival skills, gambling, more wildlife, nightkins, ect ect. I rest my case!
@ALittleBitEccentric all of which they could've had DLC for or hell maybe even patches, basically they pulled a UMvC3 on us. The only difference being, Fallout 3 wasn't a POFS.

@conventrixx well, vegas' hardcore mode adds replay ability. to be honest, get fallout 3 GOTY or wait for the upcoming (in february) Fallout new vegas Ultimate edition, each of those come with all the DLC.if you are going to wait, i'd recomend New Vegas if you are more of a FPS fan, and 3 if you're in it for the story.
@keflar5 yah i think your right! i wasted 50 hours on new vegas and i can imagine skyrim taking like 200 hours and when the new fallout comes out, ill be double of skyrim or as much time consuming
I loved FO3, I loved the music and overall atmosphere. I don't love the western music in NV or the atmosphere, but the gameplay is vastly improved on and was a great game well worth a 60 dollar price tag

@Nygunsons You got it wrong. Fallout 3 was a really good game, with a lot of interesting location, music, and just all together better feel. That being said, I like New Vegas, but it felt more like a hollow copy than a new game. On the note of it being like Van Buren, that's not correct. Van Buren was much larger and more interesting. And yes, I have played Van Buren.
@slayerkiller47 really you played the finally copy of van buren ooo thats right they never released it and they tech demo had nothing to do with the storyline of the real game. Fallout New vegas was made by some of he fallout 2 and van buren team of coruse it wasnt anything different it was van buren it was Black islands FO3 and iv heard the devlopment team of new vegas even say it was van buren i just dont like what they did with FO3 it was a fan game more than a devlopers game

This game is only for hardcore survivors. The first 25 minutes of playing the game and im not sure how but all i remember was becoming addicted to a drug called steady, stealing all the boose in the goodsprings saloon, killing all the witnesses, mugged by lizard people, and left hiluscinating in the middle of the desert to die. i returned the game the following morning.

As somebody who played the first two Fallout games, Fallout 3 really wore on me after a while, and I couldn't force myself to play through all the DLC or explore the whole world. New Vegas feels much better, more like a Fallout game to me than Fallout 3. All the little changes and improvements add up. I suppose that could be attributed to people who actually worked on Fallout 2 being at Obsidian and involved with NV.
the only thing that puts me off of gettin this game is the monsters and the graphics. i really wnat it but those are the only things that hold me back . . .

@supervenom2000 New Vegas is better if you're a hardcore RPG or Fallout fan, and if you care about realism or story. 3 is better for exploring the ruins, and you'll probably like the music more unless you really like classic country. Personally, I prefer New Vegas. I could go more in depth, but I think this is enough to help you decide.
@Funnytown01 I could be mistaken, but are all the environments in Fallout 3 gray and black? I'd much prefer immersing myself in a world with more color to it, which New Vegas seems to have.

What console should I get this for? 360 or PS3? I remember back with Fallout 3, it ran better on 360. However this is Obsidian...and overall they are known for glitchy games.

U people know nothing new vegas was def better: hardcore mode, more weapons and attachments, different ammo types. the only thing better about 3 which I still go back and play was there was a lot more to explore.
@SMS101productions exactly thats why fallout 3 is better. sure more guns is good but the mojave lacked so much to explore that the captial wasteland had-a huge city to explore, subway tunnels, and office buildings every time you walked in a direction for no more than 5 mins. new vegas is a great game but in lacks in the exploration department the mojave is just too empty
@theendguy1 as i said, they are completely different games besides to optional fps aspect. you can't compare them. it's like saying super mario bros is better than call of duty.
I'm currently addicted to that game. I do love Borderlands but have quit its world for this one without doubt.
I appriciate averagely the comment on the need to reserve some real time to play. I guess this is very relevant for professional computer game tester, irrelevant for the public.
In addition, what I did really like was the RPG dimension of the game (ok i m new in Fallout series) which has been omitted by the reviewer.

See what they did there? Fallout: NEW VEGAS? And not Fallout 4? Because it's not the "new" Fallout! They just wanted to make one last Fallout before Skyrim so then they could get more time to work on the next new Fallout which is going to be released probably in 2013 or 2014.
@Seversher They actually did that because Fallout New Vegas was not made by Bethesda (Creator of FO3). Obsidian entertainment (original fallout creators) made New Vegas.
Actually comparin fallou 3 and NV is quite similar to comparing bioshock 1 and 2.. Only that bioshock 2 was indeed an inferior game (and that's only because of the much worst level design) but NV is not.. Fallout 3 and Bioshock 1 have the advantage of being original and leave your jaw drop with what's happening.. NV didn't have the same jaw dropping effect as did not bioshock 2.. I think new vegas is the better game, but it will never beat fallout 3 in gamer's hearts
Love both games- but he hit the nail on the head comparing it to bioshock- first time I played fallout 3 same with bioshock it blew me away- but because I new what to expect it felt like a continuation but still loved them non the less- I seriously put about 400 hours into both 3 and nv this was with also getting all dlc

@supervenom2000 New Vegas is better if you're a hardcore RPG or Fallout fan, and if you care about realism or story. 3 is better for exploring the ruins, and you'll probably like the music more unless you really like classic country. Personally, I prefer New Vegas. I could go more in depth, but I think this is enough to help you decide.

@Funnytown01 I could be mistaken, but are all the environments in Fallout 3 gray and black? I'd much prefer immersing myself in a world with more color to it, which New Vegas seems to have.

@ShadowPhazonv2 Well i thought this started quite quick considerring people said it was slow but i thought fallout 3 was so slow to start. Admitedly, its hard to compare because both fallout 3 and new vegas are built on the same frame. I just found new vegas more fun.

U people know nothing new vegas was def better: hardcore mode, more weapons and attachments, different ammo types. the only thing better about 3 which I still go back and play was there was a lot more to explore.

@SMS101productions exactly thats why fallout 3 is better. sure more guns is good but the mojave lacked so much to explore that the captial wasteland had-a huge city to explore, subway tunnels, and office buildings every time you walked in a direction for no more than 5 mins. new vegas is a great game but in lacks in the exploration department the mojave is just too empty

I'm currently addicted to that game. I do love Borderlands but have quit its world for this one without doubt.
I appriciate averagely the comment on the need to reserve some real time to play. I guess this is very relevant for professional computer game tester, irrelevant for the public.
In addition, what I did really like was the RPG dimension of the game (ok i m new in Fallout series) which has been omitted by the reviewer.
When things are good, it does not arm to say they are.

See what they did there? Fallout: NEW VEGAS? And not Fallout 4? Because it's not the "new" Fallout! They just wanted to make one last Fallout before Skyrim so then they could get more time to work on the next new Fallout which is going to be released probably in 2013 or 2014.

@Seversher They actually did that because Fallout New Vegas was not made by Bethesda (Creator of FO3). Obsidian entertainment (original fallout creators) made New Vegas.

Actually comparin fallou 3 and NV is quite similar to comparing bioshock 1 and 2.. Only that bioshock 2 was indeed an inferior game (and that's only because of the much worst level design) but NV is not.. Fallout 3 and Bioshock 1 have the advantage of being original and leave your jaw drop with what's happening.. NV didn't have the same jaw dropping effect as did not bioshock 2.. I think new vegas is the better game, but it will never beat fallout 3 in gamer's hearts

Love both games- but he hit the nail on the head comparing it to bioshock- first time I played fallout 3 same with bioshock it blew me away- but because I new what to expect it felt like a continuation but still loved them non the less- I seriously put about 400 hours into both 3 and nv this was with also getting all dlc

i hated the glitches! i was on a quest and i didn't do a extra one so the ghoul started shooting and chris flee'd! i was so pissed! or the kill spawns. when the game auto saves and you keep dying:\
