i have hooded eyes. eyeliner on top is really hard, because it transfers to my crease. it's annoying. so i just water line my eyes. my right eye is hard to keep eyeliner on my water line. it always smudges. my left eye is perfect. i put powder under neath.

I'm confused..I have a hooded eye..when my eye is open,there is no visible lid,so if I applied like you did,you don't see any color,only the highlighted area,and then it makes my eyes look more hooded..should I bring the color up a little onto the hooded area?

@LR52490 Yes..thats what I would do. Find your brow bone and apply your "crease" color to that area. I am trying to get my Mom to sit for a video..she has very hooded eyes. I am going to make another video soon with some tips on how to apply make up to hooded eyes.

This tutorial was a big help in my changing the way i did my eye makeup, because I have deep set, hooded, close set eyes. However, I find it to be much more for a day time look and I go out dancing (partner dancing) on a weekly (or more) basis. In fact, I go to dance events where I compete during the day and then do all night dancing (and I do mean all night) and was wondering if there was a way to bring this day time look to a night time look with just adjustments w/o removing anything.

First off, I love how you show more than one possibility for each color. I hate when people are all like "I have this pallette and in using this exact color." You gave other colors that could also be used. Thank you. You're also very pretty.

Secondly, could this be used with other colors of similar shades? Like instead of using brown tones, maybe pink? Thanks again!

@doglover427 Thank you for the great compliment, I really appreciate it. I try to offer other shades or brands..sometimes I dont have one to show right then but I always tell people if they need help to let me know. With this technique you can use any shades you like as long as you use a darker color in the outer corner. I use pinks all the time. I like to use a light pink on my lid and then use a mauvy pink in the outer corner. If you have an idea for a tutorial I would be happy to do one for

I once had a Mac MUA tell me that I should only use light colors on my eyes even after I told her how I apply my make up she told me I was doing it wrong. I think that people with eyes like ours can wear dark colors if we wear them in the right place. I'm glad you like the video. Its nice to hear from people who can relate. Thanks again :)

I also wanted to tell you that there is an eyeshadow color from Paula Dorff that I think u would like..its called La DeeDa, its a classy purple grey color. The purple isn't too bright or to dark.
