  • @ Thecheeseycheese I highly doubt this stuff is available to the public to buy.

  • @redtatt27 You'd be surprised to find out what is available to civilians via ebay.

  • FAIL, this video now DOES prove that Batman exists. FAIL government covering.

  • I want one lol, I'm scared to ask what would this stuff cost if someone were to buy this

  • it might sounds nuts but i have invisioned myself being sumthing like batman or punisher when im older ya see heres my plan i do judo and jui jitsu now and im 13 im gonna sign up for the wrestling team and fencing. when i turn 18 im going to join the reserves and after the marines for 4 years and by the time im 25 im going to get armor guns toools hooks and other things i need and well become like batman or punisher, so tell me wat u think ?

  • @naruto922shippuden Well As long as your parents die and if you are a billionaire playboy gone missing in India for 5 years that might work. so you have to factor in those other 5 years so your gonna be around 30 before your dreams take off. And make sure your butler is named Alfred and you have a Friend running for public office with a nick name of Two-face. You better be tight with the police lutenant too. Better make that commissioner. So good luck with that!!!

  • @naruto922shippuden In 12 years you will find booze and boobs.. you won't want to be batman.,

  • @MrNoName2k99

    Im 22.

Have found boobs and booze(though...I don't drink)

    Have a girlfriend.

But I still want to be batman or the punisher.lmao

  • @naruto922shippuden

  • how about this take the batsuit from the comics and put it on an actor instead of recreating a suit every fucking movie >.> i get it batman is batman no matter what suit but can we not agree we all love batman in grey black symbol and black or blue cape hell i like the yellow symbol too im just saying they try to hard to get fans to stay when your a batman fan your not going anywhere...

  • @batsy526 I've always wished the comic Batman would more closely resemble the movie Batman. Armored tank > spandex acrobat

  • make the troops wear batman suit and only fight at night no more wars cause everybody would be to scared to fight

  • why dont they use it for the military?

  • @Changbang2013 they use it moron!!! did you even see the whole video???

  • so the suit in the movie is real???

  • wtf

  • Nowadays are just armour vests, it should be whole armour like in middle ages because legs and arms are still exposed.

  • After the first shot from a centerfire rifle breaks up the ceramic into shards, it has lost it's stopping power. It turns into a bunch of gravel you're carrying around.

  • Thats cool but Dyneema is lighter and even stronger. Look it up

  • When used alone. Dyneema with ceramics is on the way.

  • Dyneema is a brand name for fabric made out of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Spectra is another brand name of the same stuff.

Some companies make solid UHMWPE inserts for ballistic vests.

  • Watching this made me feel so awesome about my parents because they both work at Ceradyne. It makes me shiver when i think that my parents help make Batman.

  • @kosias can you have them mail me a full body armor suit?

  • @kosias do u get batman bullet proof plates too

  • what show was this i want to see the whole thing

  • "hollywood science" on national geographic

its a show that gives thoughts and references to fictitious hollywood technology or stunts and see if such things do exists in real life.

  • does it matter that it's the lightest material? It's the hardest man made material, why is weight important? That implies that there is a harder material that's not as light. Is that true, is there a harder material? No, this is the hardest material regardless of weight.

  • The importance is since it has to be worn 24/7 by soldiers it must be lightweight. There have been vests that have stopped these high velocity rounds before but they were far too heavy.

  • @Treblaine Well dragon skin is light enough, the military is just stupid and won't use it because of politics.

  • @qcages dragon skin armour is 50% heavier than the armour it intends to replace yet gives virtually no tactical advantage and troops are already under huge stress trying to bear that weight.

Dragon skin hides this weight problem by reclassifying their small chest size vests as being for larger sizes. Completely unscrupulous. It's a con.

A slab of depleted uranium will "stop more rounds" than current armour but that doesn't make it a good choice for hanging around a soldier's neck.

  • @qcages Sorry mate, it is the press that is stupid, they think the ONLY requirement of body armour is to stop a ridiculously high number of shots from small arm fire while ignoring:

    -Weight: cannot be overemphasised

-high power resistance: like from IED blasts, main cause of casualties

-durable, long lasting, easy to repair: soldiers can't wait unprotected while a vest is sent back to manufacturer for repairs

-Address existing concerns: i.e. need WIDER coverage not deeper.

    -cost: yes, even this

  • @Treblaine The material they just described has everything you just listed. It isn't heavy. It can withstand loads of shrapnel. It is obviously durable. There are multiple plates covering multiple areas of the body. I am not so sure about the cost.

  • @HunterHatfield I was only pointing out to people the military necessity aspect, I am not a soldier but know enough to know they are almost overburdened with their equipment, really every ounce does count, and the advantage of ceramic chest armour needs to be balanced with how it only protects the chest.

Heavy body armour not only slows movement through the sheer weight but inhibits breathing (weight on chest) and overall ability to move and fight.

  • @qcages No, Dragon Skin melts in extreme hot weather and the armor disc slips and therefore the soldier is at risk of being killed or wounded. I rather have a solid plate than armor disc that could slip and get me killed.

  • you be a soldier and you try to make that decision.

  • @boxsterwelby

Your an idiot.... We need it light so Soldiers (or batman/w.e) can move and be agile. If it was heavy, they couldn't run or be as flexible. Isn't that common sense? Either your a 9 year old kid or your just fucking stupid.....

  • errr...if I was going to call someone else fucking stupid i'd probably use correct grammar and start with "You're an idiot" (as in the abbreviation of: you are) instead of "Your an idiot".

    Food for thought perhaps?!

  • @greg313662

Anything else you would like to waste your time on correcting?

  • @boxsterwelby except diamonds like the guy said... You should actually watch the video before making pointless comments.
