I always thought this was a good movie. I hadn't seen it since a rerun in the late 70's. I am glad to say it holds up and Thank You to UtahJazzGirl91 for posting it in its entirety.
I was also 9 when I saw this in '74. I have never seen it since but I always remembered this as a great film. The title stuck with me even long after I had forgotten what it was about. The made for TV movies consistently maintained a high standard. There's no secret, really, just an intriguing premise that grabs you, sustained story telling and few gimmicks. Whilst you should always guard against nostalgia, I've got to say I'm more impressed with these old films than the stuff that's on today.
i saw this movie in 74,i must have been 9yrs old and in the 3rd or 4th grade, been tryin to see this for that long again.saw this and the movie, bad ronald.i think it was "abc" sunday nite at the movies?
I remeber seeing this ages back. An interesting 'would' movie, as in if *you* were one of the survivors, what would you do, and where would you go, and what would you do when you got there?
Me, I have relations in various parts of Britain, so I'd do a lot of travelling to see if any of them survived.
Bobofet24... I think the movie you are trying to recall is The Andromeda Strain 1971... I tried to remember the name of this movie and everyone would always give me The Andromeda Strain as the answer. I watched it and knew it was a different movie... Finally finding this movie's titled helped me remember it. I was only 8 when I saw Where Have All The People Gone. It scared me! The Andromeda Strain would have been way to scientific for me to even understand, let alone be scared of the concept.
Thank you very much I have not seen this since it aired. However I remember another Movie very similar in which the people remained whole but if the bodies were cut it was if sand poured out of them. I wish I could remember what it was called.
