  • sk1 is right i am maratha, we also belive that if the marathas were not defeated by the british we wud have our empire. u right man we shud just fight among each other and lick white mans ass, never be united, just be egostic. v good man u r gr8t sikh warrior

  • if the sikh monarchy remained, India and punjab would have been seperated and the Sikhs would have their own country.

  • @singhisking01 I agree, now Sikhs are a conquered people and are being ''indianzied'' ever since and as we speak. such a shame

  • He wasn't the last King of the Sikhs, he was the last Emperor of the Sikhs because there were other Sikh kings like Nabha, Patiala, Jind, Faridkot and Kapurthala. Also the British did not allow him to meet with any of his surviving relatives from Punjab, Kangra, Nabha etc etc. even when his daughters came to India they were prevented from meeting many of their relatives. It was even to the Point when Jung Bahadur of Nepal came to England, again Duleep Singh was prevented from meeting him also.

  • very interesting piece and another example of the sly british.

  • excellent..thank you for the doc...i would love to see more and the sikh heritage be preserved all over Punjab(asli bharat?)

  • He really disgraced us. he could have done so much.

  • if british is honest they should give the sikh kingdom to mharaj duleep singh our people are not greedy or atleast say sorry to the sikh nation.

  • it's true that at first the maharaja was after wealth and good living but when he came to undertsand the truth about the british monarchy he longed for Punjab On Sukh Sagar radio sky 0150 they told the story once overwhelming and herat qlenching indeed but the Maharaja shouldn't have let go of his Sikhi "Jaan Jaye par Sikhi Sidak Naa Jaye" Waheguru Ji Ka khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  • @d351d1v491 im with u and u kinda misquoted its "sir (head) jaye ta jaye par mera sikhi sidak na jaye" waheguru ji ka khlasa waheguru ji ki fateh

  • Tragic Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji told his son explicitly he would be misled by the british but like most sons Maharaja Duleep Singh knew best and produced Gora Kids i am ashamed of him man i can't explain my shame i am that ashamed of this and the british stooped such low levels of dignity just to have india it is a Damning indictmenton our rich history it makes my heart bleed 2 even think about it

  • haha all he wanted was money cudnt care less bout sikhi or india

  • shut the fuck he was just 15 when he came to Uk didnt know that wha he is and then born raise in UK in wealth. they had just change mind of kid. he tried to meet his family in 1963 when went to india wit his mom's ashes but british put him under custody and took him sent him back to UK never let him meet wit his family where he could know about his value and culture again.

  • they were all poisoned

  • well said GillBally ,i couldnt of put it any better..

  • There are many stories like the one I have just seen, including that of my grate grandfather, who stood up to the British domination of the land of India.

I am saddened and moved by the plight of the Maharajah featured in this documentary. I hope all of us can learn valuable lessons from our histories and never to repeat them.

    Excellent stuff.

  • Thankyou, for making people aware of our rich and very tragic history, an excellent documentary. It leaves a sense of sadness in my heart and I wish I re-write history and start all over again. Long live the Sikh, our King was overpowered, but one thing is for sure....'you can never take Sikhism out of a sikh' Waheguru ji ka khalsa..waheguru Ji ki fateh..,

  • Your response really spoke to me. As a sikh being brought up in England you have to think that the same principles apply. People try to be something for not. I do not consider myself to be apart from India despite the fact that my ancestors are from there. You really can't take sikhism out of a sikh. Thank you

  • It goes to show that the Sikhs (not indians) were the last true barrier for the British to conquer the whole of India and only by subterfuge, illegality and duplicity did they eventually succeed. Yet the Punjab lives on and the Sikhs still stand proud of their glorious heritage and can take satisfaction that history will acknowledge their valour and dignity. Yet it puzzles me that this is not taught in India or the Punjab as the national cirriculum doesnt 'allow' it!!!

  • Khalsa78 then we as sikhs should stand in front of these exam boards with swords in our hands and force their hand like the brits did to us we should tell the sikhs across the nation 2 stop going to school we should take prince charles and harry away into exile

  • An interesting subject no doubt but our Hardeep the historian doesn't understand the meaning of the word "subjugate". He thinks that the English "subjugate" Scotland but he lives in London. Therefore he is a fool and hypocrite. Avoid.

  • EXCELLENT WORK

  • wow nice info about our last king keep it up work veer
