awesome! I've seen sooooo many videos with mechs that all they do is have fancy lights, maybe move an arm or something, but they never walk, much less keeping there balance. Maybe it's not the prettiest mech, but it's the most complex one i've seen thus far. great job! If i could, i'd give u a lego robot medal! Now all u need to do is make a couple of launchers on it's back or something. those fancy bionicle press buton ones would work well

There are two motors one in the front and one in the rear. The smoothness comes from the rotation sensors.

Thats needlessly complicated, why not just make one side of legs go faster than the other to make it turn? Like on a tank.
