The fresh air comes in through the intake feed tube in a rocket stove. The combustion efficiency and rocket operation is gained by the use of an inner insulated flue ,not an open pit as your's is constructed.

Insert an insulated J tube and your design will really be cooking.

You can build rocket stoves with bricks, concrete or metal.

Great Idea, the only thing I would change is the uncrossing of the rebar to allow for a somewhat level surface for the pots.God Bless
