The remake was AWESOME. I've seen a ton of horror movies and can easily get bored and very critical but this remake really pleasantly surprised me. It'll never take away the charm of the originals but as a reboot I thought it paid excellent homage, with great kills!

He had her for a few months! True Jason would have stuck that machete in her gut , cut off her head and kept just that. They turned Jason into a baby sitter. Utter garbage.

Every Friday the 13th is a remake of the original, in a way. I bet this one will have just as much new in it as part 2 - 10. They're just calling it a "remake" because it brings in more cash. I hope it's good either way cause I'm going to go see it.I just hope it's not bad like Jason goes to Hell,that has to be the worst one.Jason X wasn't real great either,but at least he was in the whole movie compared to Jason goes to Hell!! Also I actually liked Freddy vs Jason alot.

it is not a remake per-say.
The first movie was Jasons mom killing from beginning to end.
This movie is Jason (yes his mom will apear)with the sack and hockey mask.
It is a mxture of 1,2,3 and probably 4.

part 2,3 and 4 take place consecutively. which, part 4 WAS shot in '84. the first film was shot in '79. only released in '80. So he would've been in his 30's at that point.

Every Friday the 13th is a remake of the original, in a way. I bet this one will have just as much new in it as part 2 - 10. They're just calling it a "remake" because it brings in more cash. It'd be nice if it were a true sequel, but really -- sequel or remake it'd be a bunch of twenty year olds pretending to be teenagers and being hacked up after smoking pot and having sex.

This is a remake. Remakes of other movies have differed greatly from the originals. Would you rather the remake have Jason popping out of the water as a child at the end again? That would NOT work with audiences these days. To have any hope of making money with this movie, the movie makers know they have to have a grown Jason with a hockey mask.
