Those monoliths are not the base of that structure. Archaeologists have dug down and found these behemoth stones were set atop a wall of smaller (still huge) stones. It was also said in that same report that they had no truly accurate way to determine the weight of those stones very accurately, so the weights are an educated guess.

The two interconnecting triangles represent man interconnecting with what religious people call the demon world.
