  • @B004017 wat

  • Pollini rules....!!

  • This is great. As Gilels. But i think 17yo Sokolov's version is better than any other

  • es tremenda esta interpretación ... realmente me emociono tengo piel de gallina cada vez que la escucho

  • This is great, but i like Weissenberg even better.

  • The best. Inarrivabile, definitiva

  • one of the BEST recordings i've heard!

  • Rollicking.....makes the keyboard gallop and canter and trot.

  • Rollicking.....makes the keyboard gallop.

  • Thanks for uploading this monster perfect recording

  • @Ulyukayev Funnily enough, that's exactly how I feel about it!

  • I wish I can play this for my junior recital. @_@

  • Yeah, my definitive version as well! Oddly enough, it was the first version of these utterly charming three pieces I had ever heard. Later I heard quite a few more, few of them came close, but none could match Maurizio's glittering rendition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

  • The best version ever! Great Pollini!

  • just wondering, since there are 3 movements, wat does 1/2 mean?

  • @edward130603 This clip actually contains the first two movements. The first one ends where there's that gap in the sound at 2:32 after the big cadence. Most of the performances of this work on youtube tend to be uploaded with the first two movements lumped together because they can both fit within 10 minutes.

  • I love Pollini!! He is one of the greatest pianist in the world... and this interpretation is a proof...

  • Pollini is god.

  • This is very good but I think Weissenberg's is the bes

  • He's pretty darn good, but I think Pollini emphasises certain rhythms better

  • Rhythms, yes maybe Pollini gets them across better but Weissenberg's I find has more power and energy. Pollini's does too but Weissenberg's is still my favorite.

  • That's alright, not trying to talk you out of it

  • Have you heard Rubinstein's version, the dedicatee?

  • No, I will have to listen to his. I also like Gilels' version.

  • Yeah. This argument is silly.

I will shut you both up with Lazar Berman's.

  • We are agog with expectation

  • Posted, bitch D:

  • Err, dude, you blocked me?

  • Briefly D: You pissed me off by giving that video a 1 star.

But now minirausch is pissing me off more, so you can come back ;D

  • Dude, I TOLD YOU IT WASN'T ME! Why wouldn't you take my word for it?

  • Wait, you're serious? xD

I thought you were like, going out of your way to tell me you did do it. You put the like... ;P face at the end of it.

I don't know what that means in Germany, but in America, that's the "I'm lying" face, pretty much xD

  • Well, I never knew exactly what it meant...

XD I just used it as a sort of smirk, like "look who just got beaten"

  • And I couldn't permit the video response for some reason

  • It's fine!!! D:

  • Eh? From what I know, Rubinstein never recorded this piece.

  • Oh, I got the impression he did from how the uploader said it. I knew that before but I assumed there was a live performance bootleg on YT.

  • But let's hope that a bootleg recording of Rubinstein surfaces soon enough.

  • This certainly sounds definitive. Good find.

  • Nah - I hate to say it, but I prefer Pollini's Petrushka performance to Weissenbergs...

I mean Weissenberg is a phenomenal pianist, however Pollini never takes a single note at a tempo that doesn't fit... there are some parts in the 2nd and 3rd movements where Weissenberg plays it WAY too fast.

    Pollini doesn't...
