  • That is awesome! What a surprise when I got the alert to this new video. I have the Vietnamese version of that same instrument, my mother-in-law brought back for me as a gift from her trip there. As I only play Swedish fiddle I didn't know what to do with it! Now I know! Thanks! :D

    Yes, taking tunes and trying them on other instruments can really revitalize the melody and feel...Most of the time, it's both fun and awesome!

    The Erhu is wild indeed, especially the snakeskin that goes over the resonator (PETA....NOOOOOOOoooooooooo!!)­. :-)

    En slags poor mans strohfiol....Ha!....Javisst, det skulla man ju fakstisk kunna säga! Om man är riktigt, riktigt duktig så skulle man ju fakstiskt kunna spela mycket advancerade fiollåtar. Nu kommer jag nog inte ens komma nära till den nivån av spelteknik, ever. Men en och annan enklare folkdänga ska väll kunna komma ut.
