  • no risk when u can get to the edge and not touch,i don't clay cause i don't need to lol, anyways lets agree to differ,ps loving the flocked wheels idea

  • How do you get a 6" pad into a corner then without touching the plastic....

I'm gonna come and clay your car one day just to show you :P

  • Just to add, these pads don't have a sharp edge so you need the tape to get to the edge safely.

  • i remember when i needed to mask trim up

  • Well I dont see a point on not doing it, why take the risk? There is no way you can get to the edge properly without it being taped.

Imo its cutting corners over a safety margin and finish. But then you don't clay either....

  • As its DA it has more of a smeraing action as such, where as the rotary cuts. It's this that gives a sharper finish.

  • Both are fine, the 3403 will be harder to use but will give a better finish and faster.

  • Man, I move the machine faster than that via DA, your heat build up is going to be incredible, your speeds are all over the shop.

  • Zenith Technique, look it up ;)

It's all in the heat management. Been doing it 9 years, no problems yet :D

  • bloody hell mate get a stool or box or back will be agony after a while! especially with that B and Q angle grinder you are polishing that mini with LOl....joking of course, did that mini have a clear coat or was it a solid colour top coat?

  • Have broken my back already so too late for a stool.

Its a 6 speed load sensitive rotary.

    Clear over base.

  • doesn't sound like it keeps constant speed properly under load....unlike a makita :P

  • Which bit is that happening at then? Its changing speed primarily as my finger is rolling the dial adjusting it...

Also I think you'll find the underpinnings are exactly the same as a Makita and that it has a built in electronic speed controller which maintains constant speed under load.

Its also priced better which means it can be replaced more often. Nothing like turning up to a job with battered and overused equipment.

  • Nice

  • its a makita

  • Its a Kestrel branded machine, please see below.

  • Just to add, someone else edited the video, just spotted the spelling mistake :P

  • What rotary is that?

  • Hi, its the Kestrel. Most of the top end rotaries are the same internally, just rebranded outside. Very similar to the Makita but without the price tag to match.

  • Thanks mate... Seen your link regarding the comment about the Kestrel on detailing work and followed the link...

Im very tempted to get the Kestrel! It seems great value.

  • Just make sure you get the latest version with the electronic speed controller in it.

  • Thanks mate, I think autopaint-pro sell the latest version with the speed controller in it.

  • About 15hrs. Roof was in quite a bad condition, required 3 hits, medium cut, light cut and finishing polish. Rest of the body was finished with 1 hit of Menz IP on a light cutting pad.

  • Nice car. How many hours work went in to it?
