I have an original portrait featuring Thorwaldsen that was painted by a German artist named Ehregott Grunler in 1829 in Rome. It's in fairly good condition considering its age I just have no idea if it is valuable. I contacted the Thorwaldsen museum last year and the said something to the effect of "I don't think it would be worth very much in Denmark...but please let us know if you would like to sell it!"
I can't read what says here but I am having trouble finding Iceland mentioned here. Bertel was the son of icelandic wood-carver, and his icelandin family was filled with artists, so I think that is worth mentioning. Bertel always considered himself an icelander, so I think that should bee known. He was half danish and half icelandic, just like Ólafur Elísasson ( the great waterfalls in New Yourk ).
