Haha this is perfectly possible without real preperation, the way he pulls it of does require much of training. So of course he knows the tracks very well :P. I think he can rock a set like this for very long, but the crow will get bored then :P, goes to fast, with too much break then :P.

i think that the term "Hot-Cue" just got a whole other meaning... Impressive skills to pull this off wo. a glitch - besides Ur playing some of the track that I absolutely hate but yet this 10min mashup makes me wanna dance.. I figured, most of the DJ's bitchin about Traktor and autosync never got further than using 2 decks in a live situation and most of them still mixing end of one song with beginning of the other - worse than a f... jukebox!! These kind I diss, and I bow down to this mix!

@Gapfruit thats bullshit i use 4 deck vdj some times if you know your tracks which as a dj you should you be smashing it you dont need to set cue points you can either read the waveform or use standard intro - outro but thats a bit weak

It's Nice! You have to learn to beatmatch because when your on location and something happens to the laptop, you can allways fall back on your cd's or vinyl.But when people give à set like b33son here i don't mind that they push the sync button.

Anyone can beatmatch and its such a minor skill to learn.I have to lol at guys who think its a major skill.I can teach ppl to beatmatch in a couple hours, my 11yr old neices can do it ffs.Your the type of guy you always see asking how you beatgrid/warp tracks so you can sync.Which is actualy beatmatching, youll find it real hard to grid if you cant .Wezzelby hasnt got a clue lol.FUCKING AWESOME MIX.

Traktor pro has 4 decks, and you dont lose quality.A cdj or turntable setup would require a 4 channel mixer and 4 cdj or turntables.Traktor requires and a 2 channel Interface (soundcard) one channel for cueing ones your master.Your Interface is what effect your quality, for eg a minimum of 96hz sample rate 24bit would be needed to play a club like in the video.If not your mix sounds really weak.

@noisia123 Sample Rate info u give is incorrect. Sample Rate is important when recording not when reproducing. CD quality is 44.1Khz/16bit so it doesnt really matter if your hardware can support more than that because it will only reproduce the ammount of samples per second that were captured upon recording. Bit depth is another ball game but I can tell you that it has to do with dynamic range i.e 16 bit = 96dB and 24=144dB which means that, again, upon recording you will get a better S/N ratio.

@EctomorphicDude26 er no im right actually.A .wav has a 3000kbs bit rate and is favoured by proffessionals for its quality.As such it often has a higher sample rate and can go upto 64bit, oversampling is also used to reduce noise.Trying to squeeze that through a 44.1/16bit interface would sound terrible.Dont forget your your playing upto 4 different sources, you need the extra capability of the interface otherwise the sound thins out.44.1khz/16bit is heavily compressed audio.

Reminds me of 1982 when I started mixing. Back then it was hard, most tracks didnt even keep straight bpm, and you had only a small part of the track to mix in, usually where the vocals stopped for some beats. Did some house mixing in the early nineties, fun but not too inspiring, kinda easy even. Today I do some Traktor for fun, a few clicks and you have your loops setup and sync, hardly any craftmanship involved, but better than Patience.

Pitching = Pure Skill

Searching combo's = Take time to try as many records together.. Everyone can do this.

Besides from this it's a good mix, I'm not denying that.

I disagree. As Ritchie has said, pitching is outdated skill that doesn't really count anymore.

If everyone can find good combo's of records with time, so can everyone learn beatmatching. It's all about the re-arranging the tunes that you are playing, progression of the set, reading your crowd and rockin' the party.

I think that you really have to have skills to play 4 decks like Beeson does in this vid. IMO not anyone can do that even with auto sync.

if you told me you couldnt pitch, but u dj'd, id look at you just as if you told me you were a race car driver that only drives auto.

end of the day, the output is what matters, but people try to take too many shortcuts.

b33sons set NECESSITATES autosyncing because its so damn technical. pitching all that would be a nightmare.

but ive gone to too many clubs with shit djs that rely on autosync as a crutch, even autosyncing the songs that the computer misjudges bpm wise.

They aren't number one but they are superior in quality and the audio quality is really great. I am a pioneer fan myself because I like the layout of the mixer and the quality, but I hear that it's very durable and high class. I still like Pioneer more though for my taste. It's a preference thing. Tech geeks will say Pioneer has better audio since the sampling rate is better and can handle higher quality like "coax", but A&H mixers are really good.

Pity we don't get to see most of what he is doing since he is using mixing desk rather than traktor for levels/EQ/Cue (a nice option Traktor gives you).

Don't blame him, since mixing desks have better feel than cheap MIDI controllers (which I prefer coz they fit in my backpack and I am used to their feel anyhow).

So hopefully NativeInstruments can add a mixer camera angle in future vids?
