i'm pretty sure racket tossing is not illegal... i play tennis and if i happen to throw by racket in the middle of the point it doesn't mean that i automatically lost it on the spot. however the rule is that your racket must be in your hand when the ball and the racket make contact

Jimmy's racket tossing is absolutely illegal in tennis. He lost the point as soon as he threw the racket.
