  • WOW! Great! I have some ginger in kitchen, which start to grow in air... i think now i know how to develop them in earth. :)

    Thanks. Very good tip!

  • Is there a variety that is hardy enough to grow in Northeast Oklahoma (Zone 6) ?

Has anyone had any experience curing cancer with Ginger?

  • have one in a pot on the window sill , been growing fine for two/three years now

    [standard soil]

  • Great idea! Thanks for sharing this!

  • thank you

  • ginger rhizomes from the super market, has already been killed so that it does not sprout!

  • @crazyamazondude ive bought those ones before and they sprouded and now i have a ginger plant

  • @thedruidherbalist How long did it take to sprout?

  • @crazyamazondude if you keep it indoors to sprout it shouldent take long (5 - 6 weeks was my estemate)

in the summer i put it on the porch int he sun it does well for me but i reccomend searching on google "how to grow ginger from rhizomes"

  • @crazyamazondude No they are alive. But you should pick the freshest looking ones whether you are consuming them or looking to grow them. They do treat potatoes to stop them from sprouting, this does not kill them and if you keep them long enough they will eventually sprout.

  • @Achaeosic I Already got 3 healthy ginger Plants from a Rhizome I bought at the super market!:) They took like 4 month's!

  • better use jute bags or something biodegradable.

  • Is there a specific reason for using white bags? Could I use black bags or do they attract to much heat? Want to try this method but want to make sure I'm not doing to wrong or starting out at a disadvantage.

  • Why don't we want to use regular soil?

  • @GetDamage it should do well in garden soil with plenty of matured vermicompost.in india they can be perenial if not harvested .the shoots die back and regrow on 14 april.thats the planting day here for new generation.
