  • I agree with the video description for the most part with the exception of the spelling of "divided"; in the original game it's spelled "divided", while this redux spells it as "devided".

Other than that it looks fine!

  • God dammit! PRESS START ALREADY!!

  • they should just remake the first game like this with up to date graphics ! I would most def. play it over again :D

  • Aw, no "Please Look Up the Manual For Details." Great work though.

  • @Johnny72192

why would they forfit one of their best exclusives?

  • @Johnny72192

Zelda is from NINTENDO, man. >.<"

  • Johnny... no. Just no...

  • Get ALL the treasures!

  • This needs to be the intro to the movie

  • they should make zelda for xbox 360:D

  • @Johnny72192 no they should not in less you want halo on the wii

  • wow.very nice.the music is great (love the Orchestrated version of the theme song),and the graphics are better than the original.Only thing is (hate to nitpick) but,its "DIVIDED" not "DEVIDED"....other than that, great job!!!!!

  • Redone and REDUX.

  • Magic rod: red crystal rod/tower of druaga!

  • The HD button is too low to click.

  • Boy, it sure is boring around here...I wonder what GANON's up to!

  • After almost 20 years of playing, my grandma finally beat the original Zelda. Stupid 7th dungeon.

  • cool they must remake this game

  • @ZeldaMario24 And rape your memories?

    NO.

  • Where's "PLEASE LOOK UP THE MANUAL FOR DETAILS" ?

  • you left out the small shield

  • love this, Ocarina of Time's my fav... then A Link to the Past, Then either Windwaker or Majora's Mask or TP... i dunno which.. But 4th place will always be for Zelda 1.

  • Anyone else find themselves singing "now journey, across a spooky laaand..."

This would be good for the D.S. or something. Nice work with the title screen, although it would have been nice to see maybe some more creativity in the items list, perhaps have it on some parchment and have the item logos shown as if drawn in a Ye Olde style.

  • @DocRossim unfortunately me. I like Brental Floss but now that i hear good video game themes i cant help but only think of the lyrics. Everytime i hear Megaman 2 "I am Megaman, here's my mega plan.. YOU DIE!" Dr. Mario is the same way. I also fucked up the Dark World theme for myself by listening to some dumbass hum it and make the worst lyrics ever. Now i cant get them outa my head. If they make one for Saria's song, Song of storms or GerudoVally, fuck them. They cant screw up all my childhood.

  • @pumpkinking99

I tend to think of the lyrics to Okkusenman in Megaman 2. I actually went to the trouble of making the translation fit the music, I keep meaning to record an English version... but my voice is terrible.

I haven't actually played many of the "classic" nintendo games, I played on my cousin's nes and snes a bit but the first console I owned was a PS2 (now sold).

  • hey this looks cooler than the original

  • they should make a new 2-d zelda. and btw nothing wrong with zelda but i have more memories of zelda 2 cuz it was the 1st zelda game i owned and way 2 many bombable walls in the 1st but in zelda 2 at least some towns people tell u "there is a secret wall in the palace" or somethin

  • wasn't the potions called ( RED and BLUE potion ) ?

  • @KaiserVadin Nope, I fired up the old Gold American NES cartilage. It was always called life potion and 2nd potion.

They weren't called their colours til' LttP on SNES

  • Please look up the manual for details.

  • @poshko41 Hah. Yeah i was looking for that to. =P

  • so dude wheres the rest of the remake! same game enhanced graphics with same view monsters dungeons etc. just enhanced!!! i would pay to play! need help write me back!

  • FAKE

  • @Cris5598. You are dumb... it isn't supposed to be real or not just merely a concept of what could be done, if you read the descriptions of this video instead of boldly stating that it is "FAKE" you would know this yourself.

  • @Cris5598 XD you have to be kidding! only an idiot would seriously say that because it's so obvious!

  • from a graphics standpoint, the title screen looks like an Xbox 360 or Wii game.

  • I like the title design with the sword and triforce piece from the NES game more than the N64 title design, it also doesn't fit very well either.

  • That was really nice bravo this was only Zelda I ever played. I played it with my Dad brings back memories. What programs did you use?

  • Fantastic!

  • this rocks

  • You left out the part about the manual. The shield stands out in a bad way. & The entire thing reminded me of what a cd-i take on the original would look/sound like. Otherwise, this is good.

  • Wow! With this intro Nintendo can do a remake for the Wii!

  • Comment removed

  • lamp oil, rope, bombs?

you want it? it's yours my friend, as long if you have enough rupies.

sorry link, i can't give credit, come back when you are a little hmmmm Richer!

    ahh i love Morshu xD

  • On my original nes game, I had EVERYTHING. I guess the internal battery has crapped out cause last time I checked, I lost all of the saved data. I had been building that game up since 1990 :(

  • Brings back memories.

I think the original Zelda game is better than the recent titles and here is why:

The Legend of Zelda threw you, the hero, into a fantastical yet mysterious world filled with whimsical monsters and dungeons and without all the technological jazz of today's games, you had to find and defeat Ganon all by your lonesome self.

This style of game play made the connection between Zelda, Link, and Ganon all the more concrete. A triforce indeed.

  • @joonsuk88 my favorite is link to the past.

the older is also better, because of the 2d optic you have to use your own fantasy so much. and you imagine the whole story and the concrete look of the story and charactersnin your mind. the new 3d hypergraphic expains everything, you dont have to imagine anymore and and you dont built castles of fantasy in your mind.

but thats time. there is simply a new geeneration.

i would love to have a game in which link is really an adult and does adult things.

  • @joonsuk88 ocarina of time best game ever

  • @joonsuk88 besides that, it had an epic theme song...cut out the fillers of newer games...and was a more serious version of the zelda games

  • @joonsuk88 In its time yes, but I would much rather play the recent ones. :/

  • @joonsuk88 thanks nintendo power!

  • @joonsuk88 Not to mention you're dragged thru the whole thing, and the games have become way too easy. in the original, you had to just guess. Wanna find some secrets? Bomb the shit out of some walls, burn some bushes. There were no clues whatsoever to where the secrets were hidden or how to uncover them. Now it's so easy, and the part that's hard(if anything is at all) is the tedium of actually completing the puzzle. Combat is a complete joke.

  • The only problem I can see with this is that the music leaves out several bars and replaces them with ones already played. But that's not your fault.

  • the spelling for ganon in the original version was "Gannon" :)

  • That was a mistranslation that was fixed in newer versions, no one calls him "Gannon" anymore, that will get you Gannon-Banned.

  • that's why i put quotes around it. i know very well that it is Ganon :)

there was also a mistranslation for Rupee - "Rupy"

  • Again one of my all-time favorite remixes.

    Very well done.

  • Now you need to actually make the game. With those graphics? How could you go wrong?

  • The logo is kinda weird, I mean with the shield, but nothing else.

    But otherwise, cool video.

  • Very cool!

  • Shield looks a little too cartoony. Stands out, in a bad way.

    Apart from that, good.

  • I think it looks great.

  • spelt rupee wrong u spely it like rupy

  • Epic.

  • Couple things:

Wasn't it spelled "Gannon" in the original?

Boy, there's a lot of Magic and Magical items.

Speaking of items, it kinda kills the surprise when they put the entire item list in the intro. :P

  • In the original, yes, it was spelt Gannon, I have the game myself, but some people have the collectors edition on the Gamecube where they fix this.

  • Well, that kills the fun. But the main reason I pointed it out is because, in the description: "things are spelled different because it is exactly how they are spelled in the original game."

Not quite. Just making sure I'm not crazy.

  • Yeah, not all the spellings are the same as in the original as they stated in he description.

  • No, no, see, read the description.

"Yes things are spelled different because it is EXACTLY HOW THEY ARE SPELLED IN THE ORIGINAL GAME."

  • Yeah, I saw that too. I just disagree with it because I'm an owner of the original game on the NES and know that the statement is not true.

  • that would be amazing in HD

  • Please do not check the manual for details.

  • Did Nintendo really say "DEVIDED" on the original game?

I think I would have noticed that.

  • You should do Punch-Out!! and Super Mario Bros. 3 -REDUX-

  • They really should bring back the clock item it was so rare in the first one and I liked it

  • I always said they should make a Zelda and reuse the classic intro screen with the waterfall and such before the camera flows down and follows where the river is going. It would pay such tribute to the first one <3

  • This could make a good fangame. Just picture it: The Legend of Zelda HD remix.

  • Rock on dood.

    Five stars~

  • Very good! Loved it!

  • thats awesome

  • What the hell, man! You made me cry... So beautiful~ ;.;

  • beautifully done my friend!! totally awesome!

  • Nice Nintendo should hire you!

  • I wish Nintendo would do good remakes of their older Zelda games. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess have been huge disappointments for me.

  • Wind Waker was one of the greatest Zelda games and one of the best Gamecube games period.

  • Let me guess... Wind Waker was your first Zelda game.

  • Not unless they went back in time and changed the first ones subtitle, no.

I've been playing Zelda for decades (literally, I'm 24).

  • i liked windwaker too

  • Wind Waker was actually my first Zelda game, and the game that got me into the series, now I own TP, OOT, Zelda 1, Zelda 2, MM, WW, OOA, OOS, LA, MC, PH, LTTP, and FSA, there's no such thing as a bad zelda game, Wind Waker was almost as good as OOT.

  • Let me clarify something. Disappointing doesn't mean bad. After playing each game as it was released, I was disappointed that Wind Waker wasn't a leap forward like previous iterations were over each other. In same cases, Wind Waker took a step backwards.

  • Oh I see what you mean, I actually like the way Wind Waker looks, it gives the game a more comical relief but a serious look is good too.

  • I had no problem whatsoever with the graphics, and I really liked the final battle and ending for the game.

  • I love Link's facial expressios in the game but out of every Zelda game my favorite ending is TP even though TP isn't exactly the best Zelda game out there.

  • Seriously! I play it all the time~!

  • I get nice shivers. Wow

  • Hmm, I like that first opening screen. Very pretty!

  • pre-tay cool.

  • ^PRESS THE MOTHAFUCKIN START BUTTON^ is what I wish it would say......after 3 to 4 replays of the plot!

  • LOL, enough items.

  • Nice use of the Apocalyptica tune.

  • This song is actually called The Legend of Zelda Medley by Hyrule Symphony.

  • I hope they will do a real remake of Zelda 1 with cool 2D graphics or 3D ones.

  • but we can't forget the orignal like with starfox ok!

  • Yeah, Nintendo is just pissing all over starfox right now. But you do have to admit, 2 1/2D zelda remake would be sweet.

  • I'd like zelda 1 2 and the link to the past to come onto the PS 3 dude it would be sweet if it could happen

  • No... that would just be an epic rape of my childhood. Please, never say anything about anything every again

  • Awsome you have made my favorite song even more amazring than I can possibly imaganed.

  • who cares who the fk it was spelled get a life,i thought it was pretty cool it reminded me though of how many times it didnt work when you first put the game in the nes was such a piece of garbage but i loved it

  • yes, it gets more popular when people get to see the evolution and look back. Also, people made cooler games to make up for the worse graphics. Now, people focus on the grpahics more.

  • in the original zelda, the first one, it says GANNON, yes gaNNon (NN)not ganon

  • But it was a typo and they fixed it ever since.

  • This music is from the Hyrule Orchestra... XD

  • I loved it! It a remake was ever made I would very much like to see this piece integrated into the game. Also you forgot the last part where it tells you to look at the manual for more info.

  • you need the ending that says "please look in the mauel for more information" or something like that

  • I got chills. That's a good remake ! :)

  • Haha great video man, congrats!

  • How is this made becos i need to know

  • this is sick. nice job, whoever made it. but you forgot "look up the manual" at the end :)

  • is this a real game or is it just made by someone ? :P

  • I think this is made by someone but it's hard to say... it is made so well

  • no..its zelda 2 for the nes

  • The word "epic" has never been used to describe something so well before.

    This rocks the freakin' house.

  • That looks beautiful

  • This is a beautifully done introduction to a legendary game. The music almost gave me tears though, in a good way. *5 stars* =)

  • this is indeed one of the best remade openings of a classic games I have ever seen. I can't say enough words how much memories this game brings back to me. I really miss the old 8-Bit days :(

  • what system are all of these intro redux's from??

  • You say things are spelled differently because that's "exactly how they are in the original game"? Wrong. Maybe if you grew up on Zelda like some of us did, or maybe if you actually played the original on the NES, you'd know what I meant.

  • Normally I don't waste my time with responses like this but I am really curious what you're insinuating, I find it fascinating. Furthermore, why the hell are people wasting their time wondering if I spelled things right or not? Who cares

  • Sheez, sorry. I really didn't care whether you spelt it right or not, since it changed from Gannon in the original, to Ganon later on. What I was 'insinuating' was the fact that you said it was exactly it is in the original game. I was only stating that if that were true, then the opening title and all that would be exactly like the LoZ that came out in the NES back in 1987. That's all. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything.

  • what the hell is this?

  • Wow. Seriously amazing. Not as good as your Dracula III vid, but still pretty darn good.

  • nice

  • people must not read the video info, do they?

HE SAID THAT HE SPELLED IT HE WAY THEY DID IN THE ORIGINAL!

  • uhhh, your copying is wrong, i have the original translation on my profile, under "Zelda: A Retrospective 1987-1998"

  • i found it, and i love it, thanks for the tip ^_^

  • you can use a wiimote sideways to play

    mimics the experience perfectly

  • *cough bull shit cough*. The Wiimote is cool but does not mimic the experiance of the old school Nintendo controller. The rectangle shape with like absolutly no curves and only a D-pad, two action buttons and the start/select button.

  • It does mimic the experience, the button placement is exactly the samethe only difference are the size of the buttons and smooth curves, which make it more comfortable than the edges of the original controller.

If you don't have a NES or access to one it's the best alternative.

  • The only thing that is close is the button placement. But to me it doesnt mimic the old nes controller at all.

  • how does it differ that it makes the experience so much different according to you??

  • it just doesnt. For starters it doesnt have a cord and when playing the old systems you were forced to sit 2' away from the TV. With the Wiimote you could play from like 50' away. It is just differant. Cuz you cant honestly tell me that using the Wiimote feels the same. It may function the same but it gives a differant feeling.

  • You complain that it sucks and ruins the experience because it doesn't have a cord? meh, that doesn't affect at all, besides I sit very near to the TV/PC or w/e

And don't tell me the "for starters" thing, I first started playing on the NES, moved to the SNES and so on, I have plenty of experience with old school systems and I can tell you, it may feel a little different but the experience is the same

  • Damn dude calm the fuck down. I never said it ruined the experieance! I am just saying that the Wiimote is not the same as the classic nes controlers. And when I said "for starters" it had nothing to do with you having experiance with the nes or snes. Its a phrase to start an argument or a statement.

  • What's wrong with you people? You can't even take a joke. Of course "Gannon" is the incorrect spelling, but thats why what I said was win, because the original opening spells it wrong.

  • Imagine if the NES was capable of something like this. People would buy nothing but the NES. Its competitors wouldn't even sell a single system.

  • they have remake it????

  • No, this is a fan edit.

  • rupee*

  • lolol someone called the spelling police?? quit bein a dick asshole and who careres abut speling lulz :P

  • No, he spelled Ganon right, it's just one G

  • It's Spelled "Ganon".

  • wow, pretty nice, although I amit I have gotten really tired of this specific zelda song

  • nice redo of the theme gourgeous title screen

  • good job you spelt "spelled" and "divided" and "rupee" wrong

  • Are you complimenting him on the fact that he was thorough on recreating the original Japanese translation? Y'know, considering he already posted an explanation.

  • No. The words rupee and divided was spelt that way in the English version of the game. Nintendo of America misspelled it. AND spelled is a valid spelling according to dictionary(dot)com:

"spell - Pronunciation Key [spel] verb, spelled or spelt, spell•ing." And you forgot some punctuation. Do some research, please, before posting what's on your mind.

  • I bet the remake of this is coming soon

  • Remake?

  • yes...a remake it means to re(do again) make something... making that new product a new and the one it came from would be called an original....

  • No it's not a remake, the NES just had incredible graphics in the 80's................... Yes it's a remake!

  • Looks like an intro to a fan made version of Zelda 1 that even surpasses Zelda Classic. :-)

  • And you spelled "spelled" wrong!

  • omg you spelt rupee wrong!

  • Actually I spelled it how it was written in the original game, so did they get their own game wrong? Hmmmm Judging by all the NES misspellings of the past, yes, yes they did.

  • nice job

  • This should be in a remake.

  • You forgot the "Please look up the manual for details". You could've fixed it as "Please see the manual for details".

  • Good work, but the original nes intro was better

  • Mannn how do you do these?? they're such good works!

  • so awesome...

  • you ruined it with the shield from Ocarina of Time. >>

  • i have the full version of this song downloaded already. wonderful song. you should remake the original zelda game heheh.

  • you should do one for zelda 2

  • actually I am working on it, just need a good song

  • Try umm lets see, lets see, the intro song for oot maybe?

  • it looks very real

  • yeah this is really good ...i'mplaying tha game iand it's helping a little
