Folks, she's mimicking the 80s style of British pop/rock. Look up any old movie from that period, you'll see the androgynous clothes, the makeup across both eyes, lots of accessories...it was a style. And she does it on purpose. The neutral look is her signature; she actually refuses to be nothing but tits and cute, which is what most female musicians are reduced to nowadays. I think it's cool that she's being original.
