  • Nice job.

    Thanks so much.

  • Great. We sung it at a Church College choir festival many years ago (1995). I was at Christchurch Canterbury then. Chichester have always worn those black surpluses! Many happy times, everyone drinking and singing - sure that nothing has changed!

  • We did this in our uni's choir, it's a flippin' hard piece to master (though we started with the whole sop/alto). But wow, after a not-so-perfect start, those last measures were perfect indeed. And gosh, listen to this wonderful reverb.

  • Wonderful acoustics, but boy was that soloist nervous/tired. Otherwise amazing.

  • chilling :)

  • Lol i'm in the Chicehester college choir, and were keep being told by everyone including students of the university, that we are better than them, but this was brilliant, im sure there better than us

  • lol we've also been picked in front of the university chior to sing a couple pieces for students finals

  • I love this!!!!! Reminds me of A levels

  • I'm singing this in my school's cantamus at the moment to perform in york minster :S

The only problem is that we are an all girls school so we have only 2 tenors and our teacher sings bass lol

  • We sung this in choir at school. It's lovely. Nice sound.. atmospheric

  • im singin this in my choir!

but omg, this blew me away! i dont think we sound like this at all. lol

  • sounds better in f minor anyway

  • a couple of accidental portamenti on the soprano line, however, brilliant performance of this amazing piece of music. It is hard to do this justice, and I think you did so, very much so- the emotion put into this performance makes it magical. I really liked the interpretation of the tempo as well.

  • very nice. In the beginning duet, be carefull to watch and lengthen the the vowels on made thee, and not to have any swoops. other than that marvelous job. and cathedral (I am guessing that's where it is) has excellent acousitcs.

  • Absolutely beautiful. You have done justice to my favourite choral piece, thanks very much.

  • I saw you perform this in the cathedral and thought it was marvellous! Chichester always come up with the goods at choir festival I find. I'm a bit confused by the person that says the choir was only 6 months old though... you've been going to choir festival all the years I have, since 2002...

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. as for your '6 months' question, being a university choir, its always a different group of people every year, almost like a new choir. The choir is actually over 16 years old, i've been in it for four years and have been to 3 choir festivals, always a good laugh. hope that helps

  • @emmaswarb Great. We sung it at a Church College choir festival many years ago (1995). I was at Christchurch Canterbury then. Chichester have always worn those black surpluses! Many happy times, everyone drinking and singing - sure that nothing has changed!

  • I didnt know there were more then one version of this piece. Unless you are talking about the male version....which is the same notes and patterns anyway. And its definatly not flat. Coloratura215.....way sharp?.....a semitone is not really that big, not trying to condone it, but its just coz the choir was over excited....wouldnt you be the same in such an amazing building.

  • Haunting, moving, quite wonderful. The soprano soloist has a ravishing voice.

  • uhhh the soprano soloist is not very good, no offence. and not a very good balance of voices. maybe you should've tried it with the whole soprano section singing that solo at the beginning. great dynamics though

  • interesting view points. The soloists were used as the venue is treacherous for single lines, especially with a choir this size. The blend between parts is not top, but yet again size is a key factor. This choir is only 6 months old at this point so being able to perform a piece like this is a great acheivement. Well done.

  • very nice
