I love hearing the Filipino singers, I love listening to Lani. I remember when Lani started doing this Minnie Riperton song. She has imporoved on the high part, but she still hasn't done it as well as Minnie. I believe Lani can do it with just a little more time.

lani is very good. She is one of the best singers together with Ms. regine Velasquez. Lani has very good voice quality. She simply is WAW! She never took up voice lessons. And yet she can do Operatic Arias and can whistle. She is really good.
Lani is way better, decent and musical than the other singer... Lani sings, sings pleasantly, joyfully and harmoniously even at her worst, when things go wrong she improvises and makes everyone laugh. Unlike the other singer, who screams, screams a bit and screams a lot... And walks out upon mistakes and is consistently sqeaking in her shrill voice! tentative singing voice coz the other singer is a consistent screamer.

++ and to top that, im not biased. i love performers who do justice to the songs like what Lani has been doing..

No one thought she would be successful in the Philippines due to her older age and simple looks. However, she did not need to succumb to another woman's husband nor be an actress just to be recognized as a singer. Her only key to showbiz was her singing and nothing more. When she sings in a duet, she doesn't overpower nor over belt.
