Definition of Islamic music? Indian music can be Islamic music if its in the form of nasyeed - praising Allah - like how the sufis do in Pakistan. If it's an Arab music praising idol gods or Jesus as son of God then its definitely not Islamic music.
@mjay22 arab and persian (levant states) cultures are defined as pre or post Islamic dates, hence the label assigned to the music. but ur right in what ur saying as per religious doctrine.
To me it sounds more Indian than Middle Eastern. By the way, do you know the name of the instrument that makes little "bloop" sounds in this song? You can start hearing it clearly around 3:39. I've heard it in a lot of Indian songs but I don't think I've ever heard it in an Arab/Middle Eastern song.
@Aryeztur lets not mix up religion with cultural music distinction. but you are right, this definitely combines the typical middle eastern music/instruments with indian ones, and it is incredible
The 'bloop' percussion is the tablah-طبلہ-, or as Iranians would say, a tableh!
This is definitely NOT desert music! This is mountain music! You hear the rabab, the sarangi and the tabla, all inventions of middle aryans - dwellers along the silk road, and they carried it into India during their millennial rule.
As somebody suggested in a comment before, some people in India call it Islamic music and are trying for their music to revert to the culture of the Vedic times.
games this song reminds me of are God Of War 1, Prince Of Persia, Assassins Creed 1

Maybe. It still sounds different than the Middle Eastern tabla though.

Yeah its definately Indian of course but there is a little Islamic influence int the music. It doesn't sound like classical Hindu music.
The instrument....the bloop is the drum sound? If so, its probably a tabla then.
