  • @marcopolo241 I was playing this on PS3, buddy. See my video tags, and I don't own an Xbox 360 at the moment plus I don't play ACFA anymore since I already played the game to its fullest. I don't think I'll be back to AC until AC5 comes out.

  • This game would be a truly sick online experience if they tried giving us an "escort this unit this far" mission instead of just "FIGHTFIGHTFIGHT!" all the time. Give us something to work for, hm?

  • They did. Like every other escort mission in the entirety of the armored core series, it was very easy. At least this time it wasnt just a giant vessel which we sat on like a pill box. There's a convoy mission which changes pathes based on your performance, with a pair of old type mobile fortresses waiting for them on hard.

  • I meant on multiplayer. Team battles. Two teams of mechs take turns escorting a target a certain distance, or whenever the other team is out of play.

  • There is a protect the object mode, but it's not that good. Bladers just rush in past the defenders to try and destroy the object as quickly as possible.

  • Well ... shoot. Maybe they should make it so that blades do less damage to the object. Maybe the object should be an Arms Fort so it can protect itself and give the attackers something to think about.

  • In general you can just all agree that no one use a blader, and kick out people who do. I only played it on the great train level where the situation is quite linear. Run to the end of the train, find the target in one of three obvious locations, blow it up. It might be more fun on other levels like Big Box or the pulluted area.

  • Yeah. More variety would be nice. What if there was a multiplayer level where you're in a big city (New York or something), radar was fuzzy at the best of times, and inoperable the rest of the time? Big level, no time limit, and each side has a friendly "army" where the units could alert you to the enemy's presence in certain areas.

    Just brainstorming. I really want AC to be a good game.

  • the jet fighting game Ace Combat 6 does allow for NPC's to be around during online fights, and it really livens things up a lot. However NPC opponents in Armored Core arent really up to snuff. I would have prefered that the levels with arms forts had the arms forts still alive though. THAT would have been fun. They have city maps, but in both cases the cities are either half flooded or half buried. Line Ark is the a good map for that though.

  • Ah, yes. LIVING Arms Forts would be awesome.

    When talking about the cities, I was referring more to the first mission in AC4. Like, an actual, still-livable city. Half-buried is nice if you like desert warfare.

  • I personally enjoy the Shanghai, Polluted Map, Kitasaki Junction, and Line Ark the most. I hear complaints about lag on these levels but that's really the 360 trying to keep up with the game's debris, not lag. Only Line Ark really has the sky scrapers though, but virtually everything is destructable on that map.

  • Ah yes. Destructible is a good thing. Eventually, I'd like to see realistic pockmarks in the roads/ground/etc.

  • one thing i dont like about current AC games is bullet holes will vanish if there's too many of them, since they're just some kind of texture applied to where the bullet hits. Craters from missiles and artillery vanish when you get close to them, as they're also just texture, unlike in say.. Bad Company where the craters all stay. I wish the damage was more permanent in the ground.

  • I'd like the next AC to be like a mix between it and Gears of War. The ability to take cover and such. The reason it wouldn't work is because NOT being able to fly is kind of a step backwards in terms of technology.

    Now I'm just saying what I wanna see in a game. Yes, the physics engine does need updated for AC. Seems like a decade or so old now, and it's really unfortunate for a game with such big potential.

  • AC5 unfortunately will be about midget looking 5 meter tall robots "Which are not beautiful" according to the developer. Screen shots are in a dark rainy city. The game looks pretty goofy to me. With as many or more steps in the wrong direction as AC4 took.

  • yup. Welcome to Chibi-Robot Halo. The new big thing is giant wings made up of energy chainsaws that rotate like a gattling some how. Just one of these wings is as large as the robot itself.

  • I bought both AC4 and For Answer ... but that particular title doesn't sound like it'll make my "must-buy-'cause-I-love-mecha" list.

  • true i would stack up with my fav combination ov weapons gattling gun left shoulder, kojima missle zinc right shouder, maching gun arms ohh and ov course assault armour the one with the most range shoulder weapons so kind ov realay missiles doesnt really matter with the gattling gun and gun arms u can unload for ages fly in close assault armor piss off and start again

  • That's one incredibly cheap build: You realize gattlings are useless against moving targets more than 300 meters away, right?

    You should be working with a combination which stuns your opponent to use the gattling, otherwise it's a total deadweight to your build.

    Likewise, for the gun-arms, they're basically useless beyond something like 500 and anyone with a brain has a build that can attack from at least 800 with a rifle or back weapon.

  • lol whateva ey well when i come in close piss away machine gun ammo and your too busy trying too avoid it and you have vert kojima with the shoulder interlocking contious firing missles shooting at you it wont matter what range your weapons are i played it on ps3 online aced everyone with it everyone uses rifles and try to stay at mid range that is rubbish i have beaten guys with just a blader and again they all use riffles and i just run circles round them because of the low energy cost

  • When someone whips out machine guns or gattling, you switch to rockets, missiles or grenades and you shock them into backing off by delivering more hurt in the same amount of time.

    Dealing 5000 every few seconds usually does this quite nicely.

    As for bladers, circle-strafe in permaflight and they sit there scratching their heads. Better yet, ECM and they start to panic.

    It's worth noting something like 90% of the ACFA playerbase are on 360.

  • rubbish i should post my ac's owning people i would give the exact description of my ac's but it means i will never have the element of suprise and look your talking bs because i have never been hit by grenades online and nubs who use them couldnt even hit me even if i was standing still rocket's the right movement pattern and you can avoid them see i have very mobile ac's none of the scheumatics get saved unless they can beat rank 1 to 10

  • if he's fast it would work, and the kojima missile would allow him to actually hurt heavy weights, which would cost him most of his machine gun ammo otherwise. We dont really bother with machine gunners since they have such a hard time punching through our PA and Armor, especially if we have a sniper cannon user on our team who will just knock the fly away, but we have a hard time getting away from heavy missiles like that.

  • see that's the point the idea of the machine gun arms is that they are interlocked with the shoulder mount so your technically firring 3 machine guns at once quick boosting in and shooting like that sends people into a panick as the whole time they are trying to avoid machine gun fire and missles and kojima missles it's very hectic for anyone who doesnt know what they are doing even pros they run more than they fight

  • I dont know how much of a threat machine guns are to light weights. Their inability to punch through PA makes me unafraid of them since if you use something like the Agryos Gen on a heavy mech, the machine guns arent scary at all unless you rely on missiles. It strikes me that as tools meant to catch light weights originally, they arent so useful now with good PA and speed, and low accuracy.. especially now that NONE of them stun.

    No Skill "I dun even have to aim" bladers are what scare me.

  • yeh see kojima missles even if they hit near you drop your PA and then machine guns rip the health off you and of course bladers scare everyone i know it's more fun trying to kill someone with alot of ammo as a blader

  • Hey, not all bladers are like that...I blade, with an MG as an extra annoyance to my enemy. The worst part is that my AC is a ninja, although I didn't want that result. :p

  • Well when it comes down to it, everyone has heir own style that they make work, I'm a lightweight Machine gun type person. It works for me, but for someone else, They might somehow make a heavyweight machine gun work well for them.

  • I use light MG, with a moonlight and light Aaliyah frame. Works well for me...

  • mate well done finally found some fuking talent on ACFA u should've used the machine gun arms instead but ey instead of rifles saves you the weight and energy and they have ammo to burn but that's just me waht rifles were they anyway?

  • He's usin that Omer rifle that looks like an ak47 on his right hand. And maybe the 063ANAR on his left. I dunno, looks like it anyway.

  • That's not an Omer rifle, I was using a LABIATA which is made by Algebra, and yes, I was using a 063 ANAR for my left.

  • There's still a fair number of people playing if you count the JP players. Just play at anytime past 5 PM, and you should see people playing.

  • As big as those forts are, it wouldn't make sense not to make them stages.

  • That won't be easy. If everyone wanted to fight at the bottom, then so be it. Though, I'd love to fight on top of the Spirit of Motherwill and jump around shooting each other.

  • HOLY.............. the only thing that feels missing is the fact that the fort isn't trying to kill everybody........ i wonder how hectic it would be then XD but this is definetly enough though!!

  • Theyve also made the "Cradle"(big flying wing armada) and "Great Wall" a stage aswell.
