Nah, people just hate on it because they suck at it! People are always saying BF3 is better than COD when they're both good games. I should know, I own them both. I like the campaign better for MW3 and I like the multiplayer better for BF3, however, COD's multiplayer isn't all that bad either.

This review by IGN was done at the games launch over 2 years ago. The game has been patched and runs great now, I should know I bought the game the day it came out and have played through it probably 50 times. This reviewer is right, the game was slow and the graphics were washed out on release, but again, now that they've patched the problems the it looks and runs great.
This game was meant to be a 360 exclusives so if i had a ps3 i wouldnt mind the graphics(that are REALLY washed out) as long as i get to play it i mean it is still fun

Also, the camera issues and the same damn boss every damn fucking time. If you want to play a badass action game play god of war, or darksiders. Darksiders isnt as good as god of war (series), but its still very fun and is not just action like god of war, but also more action adventure. Darksiders is open world theres alot of puzzle solving. Reminds me of a new more badass zelda ocorina of time on the 64.
Some other cool games to get over this, batman arkham asylum, and red dead redemption.

@SGamerRPG Bayonetta was released early 2010, and then it DID suck. They have fixed most issues on the ps3 already, the screen tearing however is still there. It's not bothering me that much, but the Xbox360 version really is better (I played both).
It's messed up that this game is of a lesser quality on the PS3 because this type of character action game originated on Sony's Playstation 2 (such as Devil May Cry and God of War).

(load times) you do know you can install game data
(slowdowns) ps3 always does this get over it
(screen tearing) have no eff-ing idea to what screen tearing means
(texture popins) again ps3 does this get over it it doesn't distract you from the game you must have a very low attention span for this to become a bother

If anyone can help I bought thiss game a feww games ago but coulodn't get past the prologue, i did the training and killed all enemies but then I couldnt get out of the graveyard since there are barries and its locked so I quit to main menu and tried to choose mission one but then i had to do Prologue ALL over and I tried several times but nothing.. any help anyone. Much appreciated (PS3 VERSION if that helps at all?)
@R100N3Y10 The fence around the graveyard is broken in one spot (the short cutscene that should play after you kill all enemies shows it to you), you should go there and just do a jump forward. You will have to win 2 more battles during the prologue before the first mission is even unlocked.
Anyway, I guess the most likely solution is that you simply didn't notice the hole in the fence. Good luck with the game, it's really brilliant.
Oh, and make sure you download the patch for the PS3 version.
Is hypocracy how IGN made a Bayonetta review for PS3 and X360 on separated videos while Final fantasy XIII only got a video for both consoles while the PS3 version is faithful to the original japanese work and the 360 version was a compresed, reduced and lightned version of the game.
The reason why developers never port stuff from PS3 to 360 is because the 360 doesn't have the hardware. That's why, instead of working on both consoles, they think they can get away with a crappy port.
I'm stating facts the Xbox has a better GPU but the PS3 has six cores dedicated for game. So if this was made for the Xbox first and then poorly tweaked for the PS3 this would happen. Thus the PS3 has more processing power cable of putting out higher resolution. Example Final Fantasy XIII. Verdict both console are capable of putting out great game if the game has flaws on either console is the developers to blame.

Too many games don't understand the importance of combat that flows in action/adventure games. Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts series and a few other games are the only ones that have every understood this.
If you got the game on the release then you would notice some loading screens poping up when going to your item screen and stuff like that. But if you got the patch and did install the game on your PS3 then all those problems like slow downs and loading times just goes away.
I don't know why the PS3 version has been criticised so much. The loading times are hardly noticeable if you make the effort to install the game data on the main menu. It cuts the loading times way over half. And it stops all the slowdown too.
But this is truly an amazing game. Definitely a title I won't forget for a long time. I hope they make a sequel. :)
Its because PS3 version got a bad port of the X360 version. Loading times and Slow downs were noticeable before when they did the review but later Platinum games did release a patch that gave you the option to install the game on your PS3 which takes away all those problem the PS3 had. They did take away points because of those problems it got when the game was released. I can say that the PS3 and the X360 versions are the same now so think of it gettinng a 9.5 instead of 8.2.
Well, compared to the X360 version i agree but against all other games it is rated pretty high. IGN were too picky when reviewing the game. I had it since day one and it wasn't that bad compared to the X360 version. Loading times were actually pretty good inbetween stages cuz you could train and try moves while it was loading. The only complain i agree with is the Slowdown which's been fixed now. So IGNore (see what i did there xD) IGN and play and enjoy the game xD
@IconStrife Personally, I don't trust anything they say. I had just heard about problems for the PS3 version so I came here to see if it was being discussed in the comments.
I never noticed any of these problems except for frame rate. Even that didn't bother me, because from what I can tell, most games do that at chaotic moments.
This review came out the same time the game came out, meaning that the problems that arose during the review process were going to be there when fans picked up the game during launch. A review isn't about what a game MIGHT be after it's patched.
Terrible review. IGN needs to keep it's 360 and PS3 reviewers separate, I'm tired of seeing multi-console products being compared to their counterparts.
I didn't come here for a technically review that complains about issues that can be solved with a patch. (Which was solved in a patch.) You're staff needs to be more forward thinking rather than chastising and asking for improvements in a sequel, when they can be fixed with something as simple as an internet connection and patience. :/

I have this game on the PS3 I just picked it up a couple days ago and I have no idea what this guy is talking about. I haven't experienced any slow down and in comparison to the demo of the game I played on the Xbox 360 it looked just fine. I also don't have as much problem with loading it loads when u pause but I've never seen it load when picking up items and in between cutscenes.
Hum. The PS3 version problems can be easily solved by installing the game. And the newer updates corrected the slowdown. This review is old, so that's understandable. Just pointing it out. Either way it's an incredible game. Highly recommend it.

Btw, the complaints about the load times have an easy solution: Install the game. Takes 5 minutes, and after you do that, there's practically no load times.

@SGamerRPG Bayonetta was released early 2010, and then it DID suck. They have fixed most issues on the ps3 already, the screen tearing however is still there. It's not bothering me that much, but the Xbox360 version really is better (I played both).

i own a ps3 and i have the solution for some of the problems
(load times) you do know you can install game data
(slowdowns) ps3 always does this get over it
(screen tearing) have no eff-ing idea to what screen tearing means
(texture popins) again ps3 does this get over it it doesn't distract you from the game you must have a very low attention span for this to become a bother
i do think xbox is superior graphic wise but ps3 has bluray...nuff said

If anyone can help I bought thiss game a feww games ago but coulodn't get past the prologue, i did the training and killed all enemies but then I couldnt get out of the graveyard since there are barries and its locked so I quit to main menu and tried to choose mission one but then i had to do Prologue ALL over and I tried several times but nothing.. any help anyone. Much appreciated (PS3 VERSION if that helps at all?)

@R100N3Y10 The fence around the graveyard is broken in one spot (the short cutscene that should play after you kill all enemies shows it to you), you should go there and just do a jump forward. You will have to win 2 more battles during the prologue before the first mission is even unlocked.
Anyway, I guess the most likely solution is that you simply didn't notice the hole in the fence. Good luck with the game, it's really brilliant.
Oh, and make sure you download the patch for the PS3 version.

Is hypocracy how IGN made a Bayonetta review for PS3 and X360 on separated videos while Final fantasy XIII only got a video for both consoles while the PS3 version is faithful to the original japanese work and the 360 version was a compresed, reduced and lightned version of the game.

The reason why developers never port stuff from PS3 to 360 is because the 360 doesn't have the hardware. That's why, instead of working on both consoles, they think they can get away with a crappy port.

I'm stating facts the Xbox has a better GPU but the PS3 has six cores dedicated for game. So if this was made for the Xbox first and then poorly tweaked for the PS3 this would happen. Thus the PS3 has more processing power cable of putting out higher resolution. Example Final Fantasy XIII. Verdict both console are capable of putting out great game if the game has flaws on either console is the developers to blame.

Too many games don't understand the importance of combat that flows in action/adventure games. Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts series and a few other games are the only ones that have every understood this.

If you got the game on the release then you would notice some loading screens poping up when going to your item screen and stuff like that. But if you got the patch and did install the game on your PS3 then all those problems like slow downs and loading times just goes away.

I don't know why the PS3 version has been criticised so much. The loading times are hardly noticeable if you make the effort to install the game data on the main menu. It cuts the loading times way over half. And it stops all the slowdown too.
But this is truly an amazing game. Definitely a title I won't forget for a long time. I hope they make a sequel. :)

Its because PS3 version got a bad port of the X360 version. Loading times and Slow downs were noticeable before when they did the review but later Platinum games did release a patch that gave you the option to install the game on your PS3 which takes away all those problem the PS3 had. They did take away points because of those problems it got when the game was released. I can say that the PS3 and the X360 versions are the same now so think of it gettinng a 9.5 instead of 8.2.

Well, compared to the X360 version i agree but against all other games it is rated pretty high. IGN were too picky when reviewing the game. I had it since day one and it wasn't that bad compared to the X360 version. Loading times were actually pretty good inbetween stages cuz you could train and try moves while it was loading. The only complain i agree with is the Slowdown which's been fixed now. So IGNore (see what i did there xD) IGN and play and enjoy the game xD

This review came out the same time the game came out, meaning that the problems that arose during the review process were going to be there when fans picked up the game during launch. A review isn't about what a game MIGHT be after it's patched.

Terrible review. IGN needs to keep it's 360 and PS3 reviewers separate, I'm tired of seeing multi-console products being compared to their counterparts.
I didn't come here for a technically review that complains about issues that can be solved with a patch. (Which was solved in a patch.) You're staff needs to be more forward thinking rather than chastising and asking for improvements in a sequel, when they can be fixed with something as simple as an internet connection and patience. :/

I have this game on the PS3 I just picked it up a couple days ago and I have no idea what this guy is talking about. I haven't experienced any slow down and in comparison to the demo of the game I played on the Xbox 360 it looked just fine. I also don't have as much problem with loading it loads when u pause but I've never seen it load when picking up items and in between cutscenes.
