if your ps3 is bricked, the NAND or NOR is corrupt and doesn't work. and you can NOT restore it. This is just some bullshit, o_O If your ps3 HDD is corrupt you can do this or if the firmware is fucked up. but NOT if it's BRICKED! You have to backup your NAND and save the nand flash to a USB device or on to your PC. If you have some solder skills you can this or if you have money and can afford an E3 flasher :P

@hackerMAN343 bicking is what COULD happen to jailbreakers, hackers, etc. like myself. i know enough about this. add me if this wont answer your wuestion or if u have more questions. Alexbee11 and if your PS3 becomes "bricked" because of some malfunction with the hacks and software, etc., your system does not turn on, or you get the black screen of death, OR you get the yellow light of Death etc., and bricking means your PS3 becomes a brick. (unusable, like a paperweight, doorstep, and such:)

basically i got bricked on 3.66 firmware ps3 slim because i used a modded 3.66 update if i buy a new hard drive wud it work

or if i connected my hard drive to my pc via sata cable 2.0 and format it then download 3.66 of psn put in folder ps3=update=update.pup then on usb and update wud it work plz reply soon

@Warhawkcdc1 most likely it will!!! so delete all the hacks or anything custom off ur hard drive then update!! make sure you are on the original 3.55 firmware before you update to the 3.56!!

@dylan9436 do it again but before signing in to the psn make sure u take the cfw 3.55 off and put the ofw 3.55 on!! because when u remove files its also messing up the cfw 3.55!! or u can just fully restore your whole system but it will take up to 7 hours!!

this doesnt help a brick helps if you need to remove custom firmware

@ConsumerRelief it takes off the files from it and allowes you to turn ur system back on!! the custom firmare will still be on there and from there u must download the OFW or restore your system!! u had it backwards!!! look im not tryin to lie to yall or make fake vids or nothin!! if u dont believe it then dont try it!! but thanks anyways for watching my video!!!
