I'm Dutch and i like sinterklaas, but it is not an santa, because we also have the santa, but children don't believe in it and the believe sinterklaas and zwarte piet are real, and they give presents at 5 december and giving '' pepernoten '' a sort of candy's , and Black petes are cool en trow candy's to everywere!!

Wellllll, what do I think of the "Zwarte Pieten"? Hmmm. Since I know they were actualy slaves back in the time that the real Sinterklaas lived... I do still not really like the idea. But that is my weird way of thinking. I have never been much of a sinterklaas person to be honest. The early arriving is done for commercial reasons, too long to explain here... But I can if you like :)

yep its tru,some drinks usded him in the early 1900,s for advertising, and Coca Cola did advertise whit Santa Claus in the 1930's then he became more and more populair.
But the orgins are from Sint Nicolas or as we cal it in Dutch Sinterklaas.
Its because of Dutch pioneers that the tradiont blended in whit English storys of Sain Nicolas the gift bringer and so santa was born affter a while

The Zwarte Piet's are interesting. It personally doesn't offend me, though most it might. They are obviously honoring a long history of tradition. He's portrayed as a man giving candy and treats to good little children. Those children who are naughty will be carried away. Eh, not so bad...It just may have been a black man helping this Saint;)

Wow... interesting... personally I don't care it the look of "sinterclaus"... I don't think they would care for him here in the states... I couldn't imagine him in the Macy's day parade... Don't think BLK ppl wold like the idea... (((being honest as you asked of me))) BUT overall , it's an awesome VLOG... the camera was still, you spoke loud and clear and you allowed us to view everything, and lighting was perfect !!

@kelleygirlsigns42 The name Sinterklaas originates from Saint Nicholas (Sint Nicolaas in Dutch) and the name Santa Claus is actually derived from Sinterklaas (at least according to some).

@RIOT690 They aren't elves, they're black Petes. Different people will give you different answers about why they are black. Long ago the story was that Black Pete was a black slave, now most people attribute the black-face to chimney soot (although that doesn't really explain the bright red lips).

That is absolutely right, The black petes dont have an origin or reason besides that there originally was just 1 Black Pete but that isnt fun or practical so thats why he has a lot of them now.
Origin of Sinterklaas however is known and the earliest story of him is that he places a gold coin in the shoes of 4 poor children, which become the placing of the shoe in current time that will get filled with Sinterklaas candy.
