i think angus plays mostly power chords and variations of them...while malcolm plays the same chords as angus but open...that's what defines the sound of ac dc and makes them different and unique besides other bands

I read a lot of comments how Angus & Malcolm play using the same 3 chords. I don't hear that. I hear more going on than that. Maybe it's just because their guitar playing is so mind blowing to me that I hear more than what is actually going on. I think this is an excellent example ACDC's genius. Clever songwriting and awesome guitar riffs and of course, Bon Scott, one of the best frontmen of all time. Brian Johnson is a hack and a travesty to the legend of Bon Scott.

Saw them in 1978, 1980, and 1981. in 1978 they warmed up for Thin Lizzy at The Royal Oak Music Theater. Had never heard of them before that. After that show, I was hooked. At least through the For Those About to Rock Tour. Still listen to the Bon stuff though, and I'm 47!
Powerage is their best album. Riff Raff, Sin City, Down Payment Blues, Rock and Roll Damnation, Kicked in the Teeth, Gone Shootin. Just great hard rock.

Shamif is wrong and so are you. It's well known that anyone with a bit of guitar skills can play most AC/Dc songs. AC/DC music is basic riff rock..simplcity at it's best but Angus's solos are what seperates them from shite like the Rolling Stones.

Ya, back when bon was in, it was kick ass and in-your-face. When brian took over, whether you like him or not, hes a damn good front man for acdc and really helped get them recognized (aka Back in Black album).

Look...why do people always fuss 'bout Brian and Bon? I believe that you guys who "babbles" 'bout Johnson and Scott loves AC/DC? I love AC/DC from all of my heart...so I never compare Brian and Bon. Why did Bon die 1980? I don't know...but just think of this: Bon Scott dies 1985...Johnson had his best voice at 1980-1985. I read a lot of comments how Angus & Malcolm play using the same 3 chords. I don't hear that. I hear more going on than that. Maybe it's just because their guitar playing is so mind blowing to me that I hear more than what is actually going on. I think this is an excellent example ACDC's genius. Clever songwriting and awesome guitar riffs and of course, Bon Scott, one of the best frontmen of all time. Brian Johnson is a hack and a travesty to the legend of Bon Scott.

@SatanicMajesty You are partly right, however, more albums have been released with Brians voice than with Bons, and ACDC are just as popular nowadays than they ever were. Brians voice is heavier than bons and I feel gives a more ingaging and deeper sound. By saying that Brians voice is poor, shows how little you actually feel or know about real music...

You are obviously far less intelligent and musical than you make out, Brian's early work with the band was excellent and better than Bon's in alot of areas especially vocally. Bon may have been more of a camp, and expressionate performer but Brian had the vocal power and general likeablility that Bon couldn't match!! Give them both a fair crack of the whip mate and don't exclude youself from decent debate!

Saw them in 1978, 1980, and 1981. in 1978 they warmed up for Thin Lizzy at The Royal Oak Music Theater. Had never heard of them before that. After that show, I was hooked. At least through the For Those About to Rock Tour. Still listen to the Bon stuff though, and I'm 47!

Powerage is their best album. Riff Raff, Sin City, Down Payment Blues, Rock and Roll Damnation, Kicked in the Teeth, Gone Shootin. Just great hard rock.

Yes..he was VERY fuckin' good at the three chord trick...like Status Quo as it happens but it's not HARD or DIFFICULT. Why?..cos I can fuckin' play most of them after 10 mins on youtube and I'm SHITE!! However, 10 years later and I still can't play the best of Angus licks!!

Shamif is wrong and so are you. It's well known that anyone with a bit of guitar skills can play most AC/Dc songs. AC/DC music is basic riff rock..simplcity at it's best but Angus's solos are what seperates them from shite like the Rolling Stones.
Malcolm is the "owner" and the boss of the band and the heartbeat but he's a very bascis guitarist on AC/DC albums....dunno what he's like behind closed doors!
