hmmm first MTV: so Desi and Lucy did this song and it was obviously promoting his latest release. I think they even did it twice with the title changed on the second try.
And all this time we thought it was Gale Storm or Ricky Nelson........
I listened to this after listening to the mask version... This is definately better! I know that everyone that comes to listen to this video will agree.
it's so nice to hear there are still many people who love desi arnaz & what he did for the entertainment industry, from music to broadcasting.
we often underestimate people & what they accomplished in their time; desi's a prime example.
lucy often said, & meant it, that her TV success was do in larger part to desi. while desi said his success was due to lucy's comedic talent. both were extremely blessed to happen & grow upon each other's talent. but, i think they knew that fact early on.
@spiranomad You are right. MP3s have a limited bandwith. Normally from 20 to 20000 Hz. A vinyl record can record from sub 20Hz (infrasound) to about 20000Hz, so you can hear and feel the sound. The problem is that with time, in a vinyl record, all the higher freqs. will loose gain because of the physical properties of the plastic.
@spiranomad So good it's just your opinion, because mp3 (with high kbps) have way better audio quality than old vinyl records. Just audio illusions by nostalgia.
"And Cuban Pete doesn't teach you in a hurry like Arthur Murray". I have a CD of Desi Arnaz in my home theatre mega disc machine. Depending on what I schedule to show I play what I deem as appropriate pre movie music. Desi would have to go with movies such as "The Long Long Trailer".
The best quote to have in any situation is ‘Senorita, I know that you will like the chicky boom chick.’
No matter how non sequitorious.

This was great to hear. It reminds me of how much nicer the sound quality is of records than MP3s. that's just my opinion though.

@spiranomad Yes, I agree, Nothing sounds quite like a record.

More people know this from Desi's infrequent renditions on....eh, you know WHICH TV series by now; it became his "signature", as much as "Babalu"...

Right on, Lloyd - folks tend to forget that Desi was actually a damn good bandleader before "I Love Lucy".
