They are quiet and calm when they are well-exercised and the house is quiet, also. How MUCH exercise? Um... more than a retriever, much more than a mastiff, about the same as a pointer but less than a Border Collie.
Podengos will play together during the day but it isn't enough to wear them out. If one dog hears a cat and races out the dog door barking, the others will no doubt follow!
To wear them out you need some good running time or a long game of "fetch."
