I shoot a 300RUM too. My goto good for everything I ever want to hunt rifle. Great work showing the big RUM's potential. And by the way gentlemen, you need better windage and elevation controls on that tripod lol. Be safe and live life.
great video. hard to find open country like that in West Virginia but there are a few power line right of ways to shoot over 1000 yds. I am trying to stretch out my Savage 112 in 300 rum to 1000 with hornady amax pushed out with 93 gr of retumbo
a follow up to my last post: After your have watched teh shotin slow motion a few times, go back and wathch it again at actalu speed. You'll see the trace yu did not see before.
Gentlemen, you did nice job on the video as well as the shot. Keep it up. I will subscribe to your channel to keep up with your adventures. Stay safe, have fun.
Good stuff! A good spotter will tell a shooter where his round went just by watching the trace of the bullet as it goes downrange. It is extremely hard to explain that you can actually watch the round fly. Most people will not belive you.
Your vid at 4:06 is a slow motion view that is an excellent example of what the trace look like. For anyone who missed this, watch the shot agin and look for a wave, a ripple effect that starts at the lower left part of the sceen and terminates on target.
Good shooting, whats the best remington M700 you can buy out of the box chambered in 300 rum. Im thinking either a rem or the savage M111 long range hunter in 7mm mag.
its a marketing gimik if u ask me, #1 is equal to a 30-06 #2 is equal to .300 win mag and #1 is similar so a necked down .378 weatherby or a .375H&H. and why i think its a marketing gimick is because why would u want to buy a huge powered rifle and make it into a 30-06, thats like buying a drag car and putting a 4 cylinder if u catch my drift, that and if u hand load them u can load them quite a big hotter than even theyre " power level 1".
Great shootin', We are up in the Athol/Post Falls area. We have shot 1932yards and now we are out to 2790yards with our 300RUMs! Sure are sweet shooting rifles, keep it up men! :{)
What scope do you use?

Excellent shooting....
I'm using 91 grains of RL-25 and 210 grain VLD's for 3260 fps....Can't beat the Rums for long range knock down unless you get into the costly 338's..
keep the video's coming.
