Brought to you from the state ranked in the top 10 for morbid obesity and alcoholism. I think you guys should put a little more focus on your social issues rather than being able to walk around with a gun on your belt. Besides, having this picnic/demonstration in the middle of a grass field in a rural area doesn't make much of a statement. I suggest a city park in Milwaukee next time.
or Create a video response * I have walked into many bars in Wisconsin and never saw a problem :) normally the concealed carry and open carry gun geeks are in the corner talking about computers and the next new organic health drink lol.
people who say "its our consititutional right" you want to carry a gun because its a right. That has got to be the lamest reason I have heard. people are so concerned about rights, but no one cares about laws. People think they can shoot on a range they can take a life. None of these people would be able to pull the trigger, or even know when they can lawfully pull the trigger when under stress. Do you know the requirments by state law that you must indentify to use deadly force. there are 9.
@RicosDomeTown Wisconsin's gun Laws are really fucked up. I'm glad to be a Minnesotan. I can carry a semi-auto on my back if I want, but I normally go with my concealed glock 23, because a concealed weapon not only keeps anti-gun assholes at bay, but also allows you precious time if someone thinks you're unarmed.
Just open carried for the first time. Just walked down to the local Kwik Trip with the dog to get some milk. Was nervous but it went good. No one called the police or anything. "A right Unexercised is a Right Lost". We must show people that no only criminals carry.

It's at the West Salem Village Park. If you haven't already you should join Wisconsin Carry Inc. We are growing in numbers and there are plenty of open carriers throughout the state that are members. We usually have some sort of event every weekend. We even went to Madison and walked down state street and took pictures on the steps of the capitol while open carrying.
I have a question before I open carry. In Wisconsin when you open carry, can you have a round in the chamber or just a magazine in the mag. well. Also has anyone open carried in Valley View Mall in Onalaska, WI or do they have a no guns allowed policy?
@c23suzuki You can have a round chambered if you want to. Be careful though because repeatedly chambering the same round can shorten the bullet length and cause major problems if you fire it. Besides the five places you can't carry, Valley View Mall is the one shopping establishment that has banned firearms. I would be glad to meet you in Onalaska and do some shopping while carrying to get you comfortable.
@neubauer6 Ok I cant carry in the Valley View Mall. What are the other five places that I can't carry? Have you ever had any problems while open carrying?
@c23suzuki Cars, bars, within 1000 feet of a school, buildings owned or leased by the government, and any place that possesses a class B liquor license unless you have permission in writing from the owner. I have never had any problems carrying. You will get lots of looks but that is it.
Didn't now about this picnic this year. Is there another picnic being planned for 2010. I would certainly attend. We need to stand together and show that we have the right to carry.
The clowns in Milwaukee have said straight-out they'll arrest you on some bogus charge if you open-carry.
Remember, folks, it's mainly law-abiding citizens who are affected by gun laws. Criminals will concealed-carry whether they legally can or not. That's why they're called criminals.
I did not understand the law and the fact that we have the right to own semi-automatic guns. I still can't beleve that I can legaly own an AK. Now I have to get one!
If I would have known about this I would have come. I don't own any guns at the moment but plan on getting one. I probably should take some classes thow.
I love my home state of WI but love my freedom here in AZ. My buddy just moved there from here and was at your event. Keep up the fight and vote out the ones who dont support the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

I have no idea if another one is being planned. There are Open Carry websites that often have info on nationwide picnics and other events.
