your not listening man, bj penn got his black belt when he was 20 he started training at 17 that's when i started training, the ibjjf says you can only get a black belt when your 19 unless your a gracie cause there the pioners (forgive my spelling) of the art you stated that you can be 18 you can't that's all i'm stating man, we should roll sometime (no gi i mean) i'm getting better with the gi though.
@kristichelw yeah that is true, you can get the blue, purple at 16, brown at 18, and black at 19. but the gracies have no exception, the ibjjf rules should apply to everyone, carlos gracie jr, is one of the original founders of the ibjjf =).
getting to side mount??? BJ is LETTING him get to these positions so he can improve....its more than obvious BJ could sub this guy in less than 10 seconds at any given moment he wanted to...
Chris here isn't bad at all but BJ knows he's not in any real danger. Its both amazing and frustrating when superior Jits guys will toy with you with the most layed back careless body and facial expressions. They'll often give you an advantage but when you make a sub attempt, they escape as easy as taking off a t-shirt.
Guys, This was in a hotel in New Jersey, days before Joe Lauzon beat Jason Reinhardt. BJ was out there cornering Joe.
And I'm not an awful grappler, been doing it as a hobby for nine years, BJ is just on another level. He was practically asleep and controlling me. It makes me feel better to know he does the same to Joe though too ;)
@kazz1896 ive rolled with several high level black belt practitioners and not done this horrible. if you would like to see it, come to the ATT gym. i have a feeling you wont so just shut up. lame ass. like to see you use your brain.
@carlsongracieteam That statement was so full of fail. I train at ATT and you could personally come roll with me any day of the week you feel like and test me. message me and ill give you directions to the gym and you can come prove your theory . i dare you. dont just sit here on the internet and say the names of things you dont know how to do to try to impress me with your knowledge. come test me. anytime.
OFLMAO wow. so kiko france, my master is a joke redneck? in my time of being at ATT missouri, we have had Dustin Denes, Wade Rome, and Kiko France as BJJ Black Belt instructors. hey, my friend Ezra Lenon just got a job at Finneys( In st louis) MMA as jiu jitsu instructor, ezra just got his brown belt. i dare you to go down there and roll with ezra, tell me how that works for you, because i have a feeling he will break your fucking arm off and shove it up your ass.
@carlsongracieteam ill bring me into this. i can personally teach you a lesson but he is closer. and not accomplished anything? kiko alone is 2 time pan american champ, brazileiro champion, 6 time naga champion and brazilian national champion, and is a pro mma fighter with a record of 5-1 with 5 submissions alone, and you dont even train with carlson, you train at some joke affiliate school. shut the fuck up. or personally come and tap me. you're talking shit to a grown ass man.
Wade romes ATT, one of the guys who directly helped marcus silveira and loborio found ATT. go ahead and ask your black belt instructor about this at training this week,. prepare to feel stupid. the website is attmo.com and they have a facebook for it too. go look it up tough guy.
@carlsongracieteam to get a black belt you have to be at least 19 acoording to the ibjjf, your 17 and your getting a brown belt in a yea?,u r your nuts, just answer me this question how old were you when you started bjj?
@kristichelw i was 6 years old, and yes at 16 your eligible for your blue, purple, at 17, brown and at 19, black if you get your black at 19 your eligible for your red belt at 67. ive been doing jits for 11 years i could care less if you believe i can prove it by talking some technical jits.
@carlsongracieteam dude that's not what ya said you said that you can get a black belt at 18 your wrong it's 19 i'm not saying your bad, some of your info is just wrong.
@kristichelw bj penn got his black belt in 3 years the ibjjf stats that you need your white for at least 1 year, blue 2-3 years, purple 2 years, brown 2 years, thats 7-8 years minimum they say.. really no one follows those guidelines they also say you need to have your black belt for at least 35 years for your red and black belt, well rickson among others haven't had there black belt for 35 years, and they say the youngest u can be with a red belt is 67 rorion just turned 60..
@carlsongracieteam yeah ok lets talk some technical jits. and im a 2 time state champion in judo, state champion of BJJ. and as of next month ill be the ISCF light heavyweight MMA champion. what about you? you're just some punk ass kid. whats your name? ill google you and your achievements. i bet its nothing and i doubt you're a purple belt whos ready to be promoted to brown even.
sinhead yeah you almost couldn't see it because of where bj's foot is and he's so flexible your like "his foot's where?".
That was a nice sweep and half speed is done to prove a point. it doesn't matter how slow you move if your opponent doesn't know the counter the move will succeed. It's better for teaching method.
nice lockdown in half, it was quick, that's a nice sweep, but it's harder in mma.
bj was is a spot and the position the other guy had there is so many options.
well to be honest that guy did very good, even if BJ was at 50% if any1 knows about 10th planet JJ then u'll know what im talk'n about he had lockdown and sweep'd BJ with Old School
No, watch videos of guys like Marcelo Garcia rolling with lower belts. They allow themselves to be "swept" and put in bad positions all the time. It's a way for them to let the newbie work from all positions and to make them feel good about their game. Imagine if BJ had turned it on full-force in this match. He would've just destroyed the guy and done nothing to help him learn.
Studied BJJ in a Gracie school, but this is the training I could only dream off. One on one with the greatest. I could not imagine how the learning curve is accelerated.
bj makes it seem so effortless
