Is there a model where you can choose manual transmission, navigation and sunroof? I mean all 3 on the same car....because i only saw navigation screen on the model with automatic transmission.
I have to strongly disagree with saying a 2800-pound, 150hp car has "not just bark, but bite," etc. The Elantra does a 16-second 1/4-mile and 0-60 in 9 seconds. That's pretty sad.
The rest of the car is great though, and with that lack of oomph comes 40mpg on the highway.
@WesSeid LOL..yea I agree with U about the car NOT having power when U press the gas.But the car is light&has just OK bite..lol.I think the handling is great since the car is light&the gas mileage is da best:)But remember this aint a performance sports car..lol.It just looks that way inside&out:)But I have nothing bad2say about this car besides the performance of it..lol.Great for families or single people that need room for frds&good trunk room for storage:)
The Elantra does not get 40MPG highway. Check out that data on the website 'fuelly'. Consumer watchdog has sent a letter to president Obama and to the EPA stating that you car does worse that what the EPA tests reveal, and Chevy Cruze consistently does better than what it's EPA values are. Both the Elantra and Cruze are 33MPG combined).
The Cruze gets an average of 28% better mileage than the Elantra.
Stop lying please. My mother got an Elantra, always in Eco mode, can't get more than 25MPGcity
First impressions are great, but I want to see how the car is running after 180,000 miles. I want to like this car, but am leaning more toward the Civic.
Always lol when they judge the build quality by how the door closes. A car MAY have a sweet sounding door, but be utter junk when all the mechanicals break down a couple of years later. The engineers probably know this, and spend years tuning the door to fool people into thinking its quality. It's about as useful as "kicking the tires"- it means nothing. However, I know Hyundai's and have seen them be very reliable and drive well. Not a bad buy. Don't judge a car on its door noise though ffs.
@althegreat17 Hey there I filmed this video with the Sanyo Xacti CA100 water proof camera. It works pretty well. I also used a flip for exterior shots. Thanks for watching my video! Tony
@FrankRizzo762 Its NOT the top of the line LIMITED model.I just bought the Elantra Limited(but without Navigation).Im guessing that hes driving the GLS model or maybe lower than that since he uses rental cars
I am leaning heavily on this car as my 2nd car for spring 2012. I wanted to see actual numbers as to how strong the engine is considering it is a 1.8ltr 148hp. I currently have a 2006 Mazda 3 2.0 148hp A/T and if the engine performance is comparable with each other.
@redneon06 It dont need a spoiler..lol.But a little one wont hurt..lol.I just bought a brand new 2012 Hyundai Elantra LIMITED:)Its da best&I cant say anything bad about the car.Im not in2performance.But its not Asports car&its good for gas mileage. It handles like a sports car&it got some kick4a 1.8L.Maybe its hard2C the blindspots but thats expected due2the design of the car.Same with the Sonata. Also the front blindspots R hard2C when U make a Left turn&people R crossing the street.
I got this about 4 months ago and i have been loving it. It drives great and hasn't presented any problems to me in the time i've had it so far. Love the way it looks and the way it handles. Great price for what you get as well.
I'm actually looking to buy this as my first car too! Which package is this? I noticed yours didn't include the volume controls on the steering wheel. Does yours have AC? I'm looking to get the package with AC and the volume control on the steering wheel, is that the GLS? or the preferred? Any response would be greatly appreciated, your car looks amazing!
@clipse375 I'll send you a link to the Elantra E Brochure, which is packed with great info. It looks like the steering wheel audio controls are only available on the Limited and Touring models.

@mrutuberxy it is big for a small car - listen, I LOVE this car and I'm an American so I guess I give a US point of view on these reviews. Thanks for watching! Tony
@mrutuberxy ahahaha considered luxury vehicles? are you blind? whether ur in africa or australia (like i am) this car is still a economy class car. for gods sake, everyone knows what a mercedes is....and this isnt a mercedes.
These cars to me look nice but feel cheap, and they are actually cheap. All Korean cars although cheaper than European and Japanese counterparts but they should in fact be even more cheaper than this. These cars more of plastic toys than cars. Do you know a word called "quality" or may be safety and reliability ?
I picked our Elantra Elite (Limited) two weeks ago and it has blown me away, what a great car. Stunning design and out classes all in this sector and has a good crack at the more expensive class.
@akie64 I agree! I'm happy that you are enjoying your new car! Let me know how it goes and send me a video update and I'll post it on my channel! Tony
@slyguyaction I'd love to do one on the limited model - I'd like to own the limited model that has all those features, but they are hard to come by on the rental lot :)
@TheMediaMart you know I like where hyundai is going too!
I feel like Hyundai now is where Honda was 20 years ago.....
Excellent value, really good quality for the price.
But right now I think the exterior of the car is brutal! not feelin it.... maybe it needs to grow on me..... It almost seems to abstract. I think they need to bring out an agressive performace package for it. A "Type R equivalent" to bring out the "sport car soul" on the exterior.... Ill agree the interior is nice though.
Thanks for an excellent video, very good details about the car, I leased 32 months ago a Civic LX and I'm about to lease again in 4 months and the Elantra is one of my options and after watching your video, on my list Hyundai Elantra scores again , thanks for the video!!!!
@MrRugbyworld The Elantra doesnt even come with a spare tire. Honda is much better, and people wont make fun of you like they would if you were in a Hyundai. Hyundai has always been known as unreliable. Honda is known for the exact opposite. Stay with Honda, or buy toyota, theyre good too.
