actualy there is an episode where the EMH goes to cure zimmierman(the guy who made him) and he said that he been treated by the bset starfleet had, including hte mark 3 adn 4, so it shows that the EMH program was being upgraded faster then windows operating systems, but he was the only mark 1 that seem to actualy be what he was ment to, probabaly cause he was the only one not yanked off his ship and reassigned being allowed to grow

Each ST doctor has his own quirks, so i don't think any one doctor is better than the other. I love McCoy's cynicism and deadpan comments, the EMH's sarcasm and arrogance, Bashir's boyish charm, and even Crusher's femininity. That's all.
