@Antrizar Complexity destroys what it tries to create.
It is a fundamental rule of creators - from writers to painters to musicians to engineers - simplicity is paramount. When systems have too many working parts they break down.
@xfunccarter2011 But you can never sacrifice reliability for simplicity. Yes in standard things, less is more. But when it comes to running an entire country, a vast system of checks and balances needs to be in place not only to limit government, but also to ensure an even playing field for businesses to function on. This isn't going to be accomplished by going for the most dumbed down system we can find. It is going to take significant effort and in no way will it be "Simple"
I liked the points you highlighted, Adrian. It seems to correspond with the grievances communicated in the official statement released by OWS. Along with MoonMysty I'm encouraged just to see folks finding their voices at this momement...it's very powerful. As the movement progresses, I think we'll see a further articulation of solutions. This is SO exciting.
@mochawitch Thank you! Yes, I agree. It's a very exciting time to be alive, I think. We are on the verge of starting a new way of doing things. Hopefully more people will voice their opinions and provide ideas on how to proceed. The next step is implementing a few of those ideas into reality.
I think one thing we could, maybe, do is ask the younger folk here in U.S. and abroad in schools what they, (age 14-24), want to see in their future of THEIR country. Maybe an online survey or questionnaire? After all what ever the "establishment" does will affect them the most.
@MoonMystyAn online opinion poll? I think that would be a good idea for everyone. If there was a secure website from which people could voice their opinions to the policy makers and everyone to see, along with the numbers involved to strengthen opinions democratically, it might go a long way to solving problems before they get out of hand. The question is: who would manage it?
@CanadianoftheCoast Just throwing ideas out there. Not an expert on policy. The protests here in U.S. need to stay strong for a long time to come so as to not let politicians think we are asleep ever again. I'm just glad people here are unafraid now...finally.
@MoonMysty I am glad you are offering some ideas. It gives us a place to start from. Once we have chosen a directions to take, we can initiate some real change for the better. Thanks!

@xfunccarter2011 there is no such thing as a "to complicated" idea, only ones that need longer to explain.

@Antrizar It is not about dumbing down.
Quite the opposite. Making things complicated is often the dumber route. It's must harder to make things simple.
