I do not have the ability to transfer what I see to paper, simple as that. But I have tried doing kind of kris-crossed lettering a little like you, but when I am inking and colouring I forget what part belongs where and end up painting or inking the wrong part, and I know so little, that until recently I did not know I could use gouache to clean it up!

really good work similar to what i do i just dont use paint but i use similar pan tone markers as you do nice, you should try wet tip markers they do the same job as your paintbrush but all in a pen they sell different thickness i think 0.7mm up to half and inch or may be higher
