  • thanks for tha upload...think i need to change my wheel bearings in my 92 Deville, does the steering wheel shake bad too???

  • :13 S13 FTW!!

  • I've had two Turbo Forester around that age. In Japan you tend to scrap at 100,000km. Timing belt, rear wheel bearings, major service due... In rural Japan scrapping is FoC and auction prices are way low. Buy under 50,000km, scrap at 100,000. Last owner. Pay rock bottom, have low expectations.

  • click click click click ohh its telling u stop being lazy take me to a shop

  • @deybi1 that cliciking was the signal I believe not the wheel bearing. The driver was signaling to turn right or left

  • lol my car was making a very loud thumping-ish noise, and shook.. i took it to a mechanic and was told that it was the wheel bearing, and was told that it was amazing that it hadent fallen off or whatever (i forgot what he said) he said he could move it like 3-4 inches..

  • @pepsiman456 please respond immediately I have loud thumping noise under my car and it feels as if it is jumping up and down. I the noise stops as I turn right or left could it be the same problem

  • @sarahata22 sorry it wasn't immediate, but i'm not sure. im no where near a car expert. i would get it checked out.

  • @pepsiman456 thanks I took it to mechanic it was tie rod ending I also have to replace the control arm bushel too but fixing the rod took care of most of the noise problem. One of the mechanics i took my car to tried to charge me 2000 dollars for a flexpipe problem ( worth 50 dollars only) I said thanks in your dreams

  • I have to thank you. My Toyota Echo 2004 is making the same noise in the front end. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with them until I saw and heard this video.

  • Any body know what the torque to put on the wheel bearing on the 85 Toyota 4x4? I heard 35 - 60 ft lbs ? I found the rare 54 mm socket! some one told me 20 lbs I think thats too loose.

  • @crombieposterboy yes their are so called mechanics that will do that and they have no business working on cars. 2 tight you will burn the bearing up to loose is not good 2. always get right torque specs on you make of car or trk and always use hi temp grease.

  • sounds like a skate board.

  • its a subaru ....get a chevy

  • could it be the diff??? sounds simular? i could be wrong

  • Probably installed it wrong.

  • My Chevy doesn't do that ha ha the hell with Subaru

  • @MrNannynooch My Chevy Silverado did and it's only an 05 with 35,000 miles on it and my front bearings were worn out and I kept hearing a sqeeking noise to start off then I started to notice it started making this scrubing noise so I took it to the Chevy dealership and it was both of the front wheel bearings and it came to a total of $559 so yeah

  • Something was installed incorrectly,I hit 180K on my rear bearing on my 4runner before they started to growl.

  • @dgl1962 sounds like they over tighten the bearings. I would get a book and do it myself.

  • @jason127x99 That's all that I do on my 4runner, it now has 345,000 and no problems with the tranny or engine.

I did change rear wheel bearings like I said at 180K and they still seem to be ok, but time must be getting short for them.

Plus I just changed the T belt for the 4th time,I save thousands by not letting Toyota touch my car.

  • i have a 2002 dodge startus r/t..anytime i drive on the freeway (60mph) i hear this weir noise on my left rear side..if i go faster or slower than that u cant hear anything..when i lifted up my car when i checked the tire movement u cant hardly move it, it sounds like something is loose but not that much..anybody??

  • I was gonna suggest the rear end, but if its fixed....good.

  • Thanks for posting. This helped me diagnose a problem I was having on a car I'm working on.

  • Don't you think considering its one of the few things thats holding the wheel ONTO the car that driving on it would be a bad idea?

  • yes. but it is one of those items that gets gradually worse with time and driving. so you really do have a pretty big window of time in which to get it done. trust me, the noise will get super irritating and drive you to fix it LONG before the wheel falls off the car. :-)

  • bearing

  • cars suck too bad you cant just buy one and not do anything to it but in reality you end up being broke because of them

  • @740221 Just like me right now.

  • That noise on my car too gets really annoying. Its loud. and not only that, I can feel the vibration too!

  • My front right wheel is making noise like this! I have a 2004 Saturn L-300 V6 at 140k miles, yeah I drive alot!

  • Hey my 89 Escort Left Rear is doing the same thing! 147,000mi. TIme to break out tools tomorrow.

  • So I have that whirring noise on a car I just purchased

It seems to run just fine though, tire doesn't wobble when car jacked up,

Would you leave it on? I'm thinking of just putting up with it a lil longer

  • same problem on subaru wrx with 98k km

  • same problem on my civic rear wheel bearing.

  • thanks for the video..I have a 2008 mazda 3 with only 23,000k miles and i already need to have my front left bearing replaced

  • u sure its the bearing? maybe u have a bent wheel.

  • yes, it was the bearing. all else was ok.

I replaced it myself, and a year later all is groovy.

  • shake the tire on that corner back and forth and up and down if the wheel hub wobbles there bad

  • Some cars will give you that tell-tale wobble if you jackup car and yank the wheel. Ours did not ever wobble at all, but that bearing was toast when I pulled it out to replace it myself. One of the balls had actually cracked in half! Small claims court got the shop to repay me in full.

  • ok cause that what the shop taught me in training

  • sounds like mine are going, but i can't complain I've got 92k on mine

  • &^@#$*! I have same noise on a mazda3

  • LOL I had the same problem with my Nissan Sentra.

  • sounds like a train on tracks

  • Damn that sucks! Maybe they weren't installed properly.
