@BMXBOBO It comes with an explanation and diagram included, the most common way would be to use 1/8" stereo from iRig out to DUAL mono 1/4" with one of those 1/4" cables plugged into the amp.
@TheDerekweems Best bet is to contact support who will get details about what's going on and work with you to get whatever issue you are having resolved. Thanks
i just purchased the irig for my iphone, and every time i plug it in (im doing everything correctly) no sound comes from the headphones. i can hear all the demo's and stuff, but i cannot hear my own guitar.
can someone please help me with this, i was all excited on this thing and now im kinda bummed, spent like an hr and a half unpluging it and replugging it.
@ThePinkCamal Make sure track one in the recorder is armed. If that does not do it, you can contact support via the app or our site and they will help you with the isue you are having.
Is there option to share sound patches between users? That would be great option!!! I would like to have this patch!!! Is this sound available on Amplitube 2 for iPad and how to make it?
@pinkybrief We have code derived directly from AmpliTube 3 (which now includes all of the AmpliTube Metal models in it) in AmpliTube for iPhone and iPad.
@MrSuicideMan Any guitarist probably wouldn't put their iPad on the floor though. You can use the upcoming iRig MIDI soon to control it anyway with your controller of choice that supports MIDI.
I just got this for my iPad and iPhone and it's exactly as advertised....awesome. Always wanted to have all these rigs and now I kinda can...really well voiced emulation !! Lots of fun and the recording feature is just the ducks guts !
@zerobandwidthmusic I wish we could have everything from PC on here... now that we can share DSP code... the possibilities are there. I'll put your suggestion forward. Thanks!
@johell667 People have used this for performance (even the iPhone version first day iRig came out). We're looking at methods of control. Also, right now at CES it is being used too. Thanks!
@ikmultimedia couldnt you be able to make a stealthplug for this so you can control paremeters like wah wah without putting your feet on the ipad, or iphone for that matter lol
Awesome Video! Just bought one and love it; but still confused (Guys at Best buy didn't help much). With it, can I buy a splinter so I could connect my mic (1/4 in connector), AND guitar at the same time? Also How did you get such great quality transferred to youtube? I'm SUPER foreign to this stuff. I have a 3g iphone to play and the Ipod 4 touch to film, but do I connect great audio quality by another cable, or maybe if I use my camera do you have an extra cable, or just the Camera mic? Thanks
@abolocks We typically use our own interfaces (in this case iRig) into a proper mixing board if there's a need for other audio or recorded and then sync'd to video later. To get two inputs, you could try a splitter but I'm not sure the quality would be what you'd be happy with. A better idea is to do each separately if you are recording with the available 8-track recorder, one track at a time.
one question, how do you get the sound on the computer? how does this connect with a computer? i want to get this cable since i have a ipad, but is there a usb or something ? waiting for answer
@MichaelJacksonSpin You can use the headphone out to go out to a mixer, interface, amp, etc with an appropriate cable (details on sheet included in package) and when V2 is approved, you can record and export to your computer too
@dynesh ah, if so, they have different purposes of course. This is a great portable solution. For recording and not messing about with amps for a great sound we have AmpliTube 3. And we're not against real amps of course (we have MANY of them in our office) :)
@ikmultimedia i mean, ( if i had an ipad and money :D) do i go out and actually get the foor pedals and amps (its the "thrill" of having a real thing and being able to admire it properly) or do i get the simulated stuff like on the ipad (where it would be easier to take around)
all in all, i think this idea is a good idea for the ipad, but i still think its gonna be a while to perfect. :)
@AngryLlamaz There is no iRig metal. iRig is the adapter, AmpliTube is the app and there is a Metal amp in the full version (or available via in-app purchase in the other versions).
@MetaITV It is a stable app, and there's a great update coming too to add features like in the 2.0 update to the iPhone version. For physical stability, just preorder iKlip to attach it to your mic stand in a stable fashion.
@MetaITV It is a stable app, and there's a great update coming too to add features like in the 2.0 update to the iPhone version. For physical stability, just grab our just-announced iKlip to attach it to your mic stand in a stable fashion.
@RubenDelight Directly from our website, or from most major online music dealers (we have a dealer list on our site too). US Apple Retail Stores have them, too.
Ever since when does a tube amp let you read books or surf the web? Play video games, tab programs, chord/scale charts, find where you are, give you directions, etc?
I doubt this application was made to replace a tube amp but instead to give a portable solution to guitarists who own apple products. This app also works on phones, can you fit a tube amp in a pocket? And you are greatly over estimating the costs, any amp and guitar you could buy with what an iPad costs wont be that great.
I've played real Fender and Gibson guitars through real Marshall, Fender, and Mesa Boogie amps for the last 20 yrs. This app through my iPod sounds as good as any tone combo's I've gotten in the "real world". For all you so called "purists", it's time to pull your heads in and accept that in this day and age, digital app's are as good as physical equipment. You can either admit this or suck my balls.
@GothamKnight69 You're delusional. So, If you had to play a gig, and they had this hooked up to the PA or a Bogner Ecstasy half stack to choose from..you be inclined to pick this up just as fast as the Bogner? You're full of shit..you know damn well you'd run for that Bogner immediately. People need to stop lying to themselves...this may be a good good product to dick around on, but nobody is gonna record an album or play a live show with this thing, with that cheesy tone.
@rumsucka Live shows have been played with it. We do have AmpliTube 3 for better recording and even live tone though, admittedly as that's what it is for.
Now this could be a good discussion, barring the insults and requests for ball sucking, though.
@rumsucka Check out this song we recorded. Every bit of the guitars were recorded through digital amp modeling software on a computer. myspace .com/thefatesconspire
@ocdist Yes that's not a very portable solution is it. And try this in person and say "thin and compressed"... The next version coming soon will be even better sound quality. Plus, for owners of iPad this is probably more of a no-brainer, since you already have it and can do so much more than with a heavy amp (and no tubes to change)
for once i would love if a video is named "metal" for the audio to actually reflect the music, not some rock riff with distortion. this is no help to anyone wondering if they can get a good metal sound out of this application.
having said that, this app looks very cool and seems to have a lot practical use...
but would love to see someone do a real metal review of it, to see what its capable of.
@sepulturadeathrule This seems to be a mantra amongst some, it is stated so much. Find an major record that uses both (frankly, you'll already be surprised how many do) and go through and pick out what's a "real warm sounding tube amp" and what's "digital software". Think you'd be able to spot which is which?
@ikmultimedia I bet you I can spot a Line 6 POD tone a mile away, namely those first and second gen models. I can agree that MANY, even MOST, studios use both digital and analog or tube technology.. no doubts there, but the sound of a real tube amp aint that hard to pick out
@ikmultimedia you guys should think about putting up some sort of double blind test on your site where people have to choose whether a sound played to them is emulated or from a real amp (and keep stats). I image a lot of people would be eating humble pie after miserably failing the tests.
That's not really a great Metal guitar sound. Sorry....Show me a patch where it sounds like a Mesa Triple Recifier with a Tube Screamer. then you'll convince me...
@guitarguts666 download and try it. You can import your own dry/direct tracks without the adapter, then hold "play" until the timer turns grey - at that point it routes through the gear and you can hear it with your own playing.
For a good metal tone use the over drive pedal on max, and ofc the metal preamp, and the 1x12 cab (a noise gate might be useful)

For the average person yes it is, and even a lot of guitarists can't tell the difference between a well dialed digital tone and a tube amp.
