It's so amazing how he can flawlessly transition from on accent into the other. When Daniel Radcliffe does his American accent, his voice and general syntax still sound the same, so you know it's him speaking. But with JB, he sounds like two completely different people! He's just incredible.

This happened to me, too. (and I'm not English speaker!) My hometown has really strong local dialect which people sometimes make fun of. So I had to learn how to speak in common accent when I moved to the capital city. Still, I speck in my original accent when talking with my family, like bilingual XD

He changed it because he was a little kid being made fun of. Most little kids would pick up the local dialect if it meant the other kids would be nicer to them. Because he spoke with that accent for so long, he's ended up with two accents that are really natural to him. He doesn't go around faking an American accent; it's his real accent. He just happens to have two real accents instead of one.

@bowtiesarecool hi according to wikipedia he has a Glaswegian Scottish accent but after being schooled in the U.S. he was picked on by kids for sounding weird so he developed an American accent, yet speaks to family and friends in his Scottish accent. I am the same, for the exact same reason only I'm English with Glaswegian parents and to them I sound a mixture of Scottish and English but to friends and anyone else I sound English, strange I know!
