  • Beautiful ships

    Made in England.

  • 日本海軍の艦艇は何でこんなに美しいんだ?

    世界でナンバーワンだね

  • it's a french song

  • @luckyD1993 I think reality and videogames are different things ;-) !!!!

  • They were only battlecruisers...not battleships. People tend to forget that because of the size and armament....but no armour.

  • Kirishima was an awesome battleship she proved to be a tuff girl when she fought Washington. Kirishima ,Nagato and the Mighty Yamato are my favorite Japanese Battleship. Japan had some great ships.

  • I think if the Washington met NAGATO and instead of the older Kirishima, she would have been sunk herself.

  • that could be. What if Washington Met Yamato instead. Washington would have stood no chance.

  • Washington and her sister ship had far better fire control...and 16 inch shells are not nuts!

In a similar "what if" scenario i would have put 50 euros on a washington and south dakota winners.

Even a fully functional bismarck+tirpitz would KO against these two adversaries

  • you have a point there.

  • You saying south dakota would KO Bismark???

  • Yes...in my opinion south daskota was a better conceived ship, with a more advanced radar equipment and more important, with american-style "all or nothing" armour protection.

  • @JAGDPANTHER20 The North Caralina would win at least 7 out of 10 times against the Bismark, but the New Jersey would win 10 out of 10 times.

  • @JAGDPANTHER20 South Dakota would easily destroy the commerce raider bismarck 9/16 inch guns, 5 inch dual purpose guns great AA protection, bismarck 8/15 inch guns weakest broadside of any modern BB, obsolete single purpose guns, worse AA protection in WW2 could not stop 6 obsolete biplanes. South Dakota shot down 26 modern jap aircraft in 1 battle

  • @RMSTitanic87 Really? Comparing a BB that complied with the Washing treaty and one that absolutely violated it? Try this comparison:

The New Jersey and here sisters woulda handed the Yamato and Musashi their asses.

  • Its hard to compare USN and IJN battleships from either WW1 or two. Texas on a sloppy day in 1945 with radar would own Yamato,Or Yamato could catch the whole battleline of the pacific fleet before electronics were worked up in 42,and own them. In general,i think the US had better damage control, and harder steel.Japanese BB's in ww1 were alot faster,Colorado vs Nagato. Arizona vs Ise ,Texas vs Fusu

  • Washington was much better battleship then Nagato and had better crew If Washington sunk kirishima after couple salvo nagato would have had same fate

  • The Nagato like her sister Mutsu would have been sunk evert time jap BB was in match with US BB the jap BB was on the bottom

  • I like the Kongos, nice ships.

The Kongo design was based on HMS Tiger I believe.

As for Kirishima and Washington, the Kirishimas steering gear was wrecked and she had a negative GM (no ship wants one of those).

    Scuttling was the only option.

But bear in mind that Washingtons guns were quite nasty guns to be hit with.

Only Iowa and Yamato had better firepower.

  • great video ,like the kongo it was built by vickers and designed by them iir far superior to the lions.

  • Great and graceful ships, fast but they lacked armor. Kirishima was my favorite, managing to hold her ground against 2 new battleships for a night at Savo Island. Bravo! How is the music at the beginning called ?

  • Gunkan March (Navy song)

  • Kirishima held her ground? She was wrecked with just 9 hits from the US Washington. If it had been day time, the Washington would have kept firing until she was sunk, but as it was, The Kirishma turned away unnoticed in the confusion, and her captain ordered her scuttled.

  • 1 ww1 battle cruiser against 2 modern battleships, hmmm, I think she not only faired excellent, inflicting damage to South Dakota, but I don't think many ww2 super dreadnoughts have got away with 9 16'' hits. As for turning away, going into circles out of control due to rudder damage isn't exactly retread. Japanese were far better in ship to ship combat, something the Americans wisely avoided as much as they could. Don't forget the previous battles around Savo island that period.

  • The Japanese were good at night fighting, no doubt about it. The SD lost electrical power when the shock of her own guns knocked out a critical distribution board. It was fixed after 20 min and she remained in action. The Sd was never in danger of sinking. The Kirishima, according to her surviving officers, lost steering control after the decision was made to get out of the line of fire. She turned northward then was unable to turn back again.

  • The Kirishima was an excellent battleship, but was no match for a modern U.S. battleship. U.S. BB's had far better fire control and damage control than the Japanese. S. Dakota damage was minor. The Washington scored 9 - 16" and 40 -5" hits within 7 min. Any BB taking that many hits in so short of time, would be a total wreck and worthless. One rule in battle "Never" give a sucker a chance. 2 US BB's against 1 Jap BB, makes the Jap BB the sucker!

  • "Just 9 hit"? 9 hits off any large gun is a lot to take. Thats amazing.
